L Shaped Oil Pan Stiffener Plate
Good evening everyone, I hope someone can help me with this. I took a box of parts to a plating shop and the guy lost one piece. Hopefully someone has one they can hook me up with. What I am looking for is the "L" shaped stiffener plate that goes on the drivers side rear portion of the oil pan. I believe it has nine holes in it. I am in metro Atlanta and if anyone has this piece laying around and would be willing to sell it that would be a great help in getting this engine rebuild finished up. If you are in the Atlanta area, or know of a salvage yard or Z specialist, in the area and could point me in the right direction, that would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance Craig

Precision U-Joint part number 393
Thanks, I'll take a look at that today. I thought the yokes looked like they had a bit of an angle, but I didn't think it was possible that they could have bent. I appreciate your input.

Precision U-Joint part number 393
Good evening everyone, I was trying to install the above mentioned U-Joints in my half shafts, but they seem to be a hair long I was only able to get the retaining clip in on one side. Has anyone had a similar problem, any ideas, or do I just need to start over with a different part number or brand. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Craig

Missing alignment Collar between block and head
Guys, I got my engine back from the machine shop and it appears they have lost one of the two steel sleeves that help to align the head, gasket and block. Anyone know where I might pick on up in the Atlanta area? Are they really necessary, or just expedient? Thanks Craig

Add on air on a 240Z
Thanks to those who responded, I would have thought there would have been stronger opinions on this subject. As far as selling it, I might be interested, if I decide to remove it. The system is in good condition and should only require a new receiver drier.

Add on air on a 240Z
Good evening everyone, I was hoping to get some opinions from the members of the group. I am redoing a 1973 240z, that currently has an add on AC system, similar to the dealer installed units, except with a Sanden 134R compressor. My question is should I leave it in place , or remove it and weld up the holes? I currently have the engine out and the engine compartment stripped, in preparation to repaint, so this is the time to do it. Do you guys feel the AC adds or detracts from the value of the car? I seldom use AC, even in my daily driver, so for me it is of little value, but it may be of value to the next owner, I'm just not sure, so I am asking the experts. If it was your car what would you do? If you were a buyer, which would you be looking for, with or without AC? Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer, Craig

E88 Head from a 260Z will it fit my L24 block?
Thanks guys for the additional info. I just dropped $100.00 on this head, I hate to start over looking for another head. This appears to have steel guides and seats in it already, is that the way the 260 came? I was planning on shaving it .030, port matching the intake and exhaust and polishing the combustion chambers. Will any of that help, or am I just putting lipstick on a pig?

E88 Head from a 260Z will it fit my L24 block?
First let me thank everyone for their response, this forum is a wealth of information. Second let me ask a couple of more questions, if I go with .040 over pistons, does that take care of this problem? Third can I regain some of the performance by shaving the head? Thanks again, Craig

E88 Head from a 260Z will it fit my L24 block?
Good evening everyone, I am in the middle of an engine overhaul on a 1973 240z. I am having to replace the original head, because it was warped beyond salvaging. I picked up an E88 head from a guy, but it appears to be from a 260z and it has larger exhaust valves then my original head. I was told, today, that I will have clearance issues with the exhaust valve hitting the cylinder. Can anyone verify if this information is correct? If so what are my options can the exhaust seats be replaced to accept the smaller valves? Any other options? I was also told that this particular head does not flow the exhaust as well as the smaller valve E88, is that correct? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer, I did check the search function, but didn't find an answer. Craig

New to the list with a question
Good evening all, I am new to the list, I own a pretty clean 1973 240 with a warped cylinder head. My problem is that I am not sure if it has been shaved already. Can anyone tell me what the measurement from the bottom of the head to the top of the head, measured at the flat where the cam tower bolts on, should be? It is a E88 head, that I am guessing is original to the car. Any assistance would be appreciated. Craig
