Kind of rude don't you think? Low production number 240Z the parts are worth more. Its not everyday you see a 70 240Z for $2500 is it?

Yes. I have a deep love for these cars. In fact there is a few guys that are willing to help me get a title for it so I am on the fence of selling it. Cash is king though!

Ok where to start! I have and had soooo many cars. In my garage now is a 73 duster 67 barracuda 63 fury 86 Fiero 88 suzuki samurai. Just sold a 69 Dayton original but not numbers matching 71 hemi CUDA convertible restomod 70 challenger and last but not least 2004 dodge rumble bee. It's the very first rumble bee ever produced! I have all the papers from Chrysler for it. Sad thing is in the last year or so the Dayton and 71 restomod CUDA had to be sold. Oh I forgot my 1970 Datsun 240Z as well. It's not in my garage but in my carport so every time I come home I see it and work on it

2 things are very ironic about your story. First is mine also hasn't been ran in a good 10 years. I did start it last year but was only for 1 min. Second ironic thing is your name. My name is also Robert S Liao.

I have a 1970 240Z project and I have 4 daughters so I feel your pain but NOTHING makes it more satisfying as when you do the work and you know its done right.

Well I am on my way so far of starting the restoration of my original #s matching 240z. I havent been on here in some time but today I got off work early and started the engine to make sure it was worth saving. The car over all is in good condition. The engine and trans are almost new. The car was a old restoration but the guy that did the restoration passed away right after it was completed! I still have the original registration sticker that wasn't even put on the plate yet. The bad thing is after he passed someone left it set outside. We all know what happens. So it has no floors and some surface rust here and there but I think I can save this car. I haven't got the title transferred over yet. I know I know im lacking big time but its been signed and notarized already all I have to do it get it switched over to my name. If I can get it switched over then I guess I part it out Here is a video of him running.
  8. Well like I said it was restored before so the rest of the car is good even the underside. There is some surface rust on the A arms but it comes off easy. I will put more thought in it after vacation. I would hate to part out such a rare car just to get another car. I am what they call a very rare breed of human. I am 100% for automotive. Most say I get way to caught up into my hobby.
  9. So far I cut out some good sheet metal and need to do some cutting and grinding inside the car yet. Got a set of brand new bucket seats!!! There out of a neon that my friend had. He wanted leather interior so when he bought the car the stock seats sat in his garage. There really nice and a perfect design for what I want. The seats that came with the car I think were out of a later year 280. There blue and silver. The sad thing is I fell into another deal but the wife says NO MORE CARS hahah. Not sure if I want to sell this one or not. Not even sure what its worth?
  10. Almost looks like a metallic teal. Not a bad color. Add some clear to a panel and see what you have. I am having a tough choice myself trying to figure out what color I want to paint my 70 240z. I start with black then I go to pearl white then when I get fed up thinking of a color I said screw it im just going to rhino line it haha.
  11. I know this. Not my first rodeo at something this bad. Thanks!!! I will have to check that out!
  12. Sorry been a while. I haven't done anything more to the car due to some family issues. I would like to look at the carbs. The reason is because it is using WAY to much fuel. I have never messed with carbs that look like this. Where do I start? Any pics would help much.
  13. I love them slots!!! If your selling them I might be interested!
  14. Oh I do agree with you at a point. It all depends on how the floors are put in and who does it. km not looking to do a back yard job on them at all. I know putting stock would help if the car was stock but as you see there is some body mods done to it already. I fully plan on making this car my daily driver for warm weather. That being said PA roads are extremely bad! So I will also be adding extra frame supports under it. Might not look stock but will look very professional. I do love the comments and that is what I want. If I didnt want opinions I wouldn't of even posted it. I need your guys help on some issues and the best way is find those who have done these type of cars before. Right now I am in the middle of taking the carbs off to clean and inspect them good. The car uses way to much fuel. Had it running at idle for a good 5 min and almost used 2 gallons of fuel haha. I will not be v8ing this car. Nothing wrong with the 2400cc straight six and is good on gas.

Hello all. I am having a really hard time trying to find rims for my 240z. The thing is mine has rear fender flairs but no front flairs. I am happy with that. I would like wide in the rear and stock width on front or maybe an inch wider. I am a big fan of the thrush style but all I found was 5 lug. I have turbine rims on mine now but I am missing one front rim.
  17. I can go on and on about me and my uncles mopars . We have some goodies. Like a 70 cuda HEMI convertible, had a original 69 Daytona XX. I have a 5 car garage filled with mopars thats why the datsun is in the car port. Looking to sell a 67 barracuda right now to free up room. I have looked around for floor pans and what not but seems there prices are 5x higher then even the rarest of cars so im just going to do my own which is easy and the way I want it.
  18. Ohhhh. Yea been there done that years ago and learned my lesson haha. No its all solid but the floors and a little but of surface rust. Fender wells look awesome! Remember this is its 2nd restoration. The first the guy didnt even get to put more then 100 miles on it. I can see where he tried to patch the floors. This guy was even doing leding. Thats a lost art. Many dont even know what that is.
  19. Not really understanding what your saying?
  20. No problem. I didnt know they made then in 69???
  21. The vin# has the same number. I take it you want the last numbers? 05264
  22. It was a special order AC floor pans HAHAHA! Yea I know there isn't any. I also know there a unibody. I will be putting thicker sheet metal in for the floors and I will be welding up a support to help with it. Everything else on the car is really nice. behind the wheel wells are almost mint. Also the engine bay looks really good to. the battery tray only has a spot of surface rust. If anyone can help me understand these car at all it would help me understand them more. Any and ALL info will be helpful! I was born a MOPAR fan but have a deep love for the body style of the Datsun's. I need info on the added body parts and looks like some motor work was done like the carb spacers.
  23. Ok here are some pics. Anyhow that post was on another site but like I said many told me to come here. So far today I got him running!!!! I never heard a motor run so smooth in my life with the age and how long it sat.
  24. Hello all I am new to this site. I was informed by others this is the place to be Ok starting from point A to B I will post updates on my 240Z I have bought. Anyhow I bought the 240Z off of a kid that bought it at a real estate auction. The car has a very cool story. Any and all info you have would be great! Story: An older guy did a complete restoration on this car with many extras. once he completed his project he went to get it inspected. Once he got it inspected he passed away. I still have the registration sticker that is new and not put on. The sticker reads 1998. After looking it over I found some cool things about the car. It has rear molded in fender flairs, sunroof, and ground affects. The motor and trans in MINT! After cleaning a little bit of dust off of it you can really see the new paint. The bad part is like most Datsun's I have seen. The floor pans are shot. When I say shot I mean one of the worst I have delt with even in convertibles. The pass side not so bad but needs replaced. The hood has alot of surface rust on it but it is repairable. It looks like there is a little hail damage on some parts of the car but that's a easy fix. So far that's about the only things wrong with it. So far what I have done to it: I took the driver seat out to look over the floor pan better and cut some of the old stuff out. The floor is so bad there is nothing 10 inches down from the gas pedal to the very back where that 45 degree up bend is, but the drive shaft tunnel is solid as can be. Also inspected the rocker frame and that seems really strong as well. . I have some really thick sheet metal I will be replacing the floors with. I took some of the rust off the hood but not finished. I put a battery in the car and all fluids checked. I took the spark plugs out and they still look new. I turned the key and it just clicked. Not sure if a relay is bad? The clicking is on the pass side. I jumped the starter with the classic way, a flathead haha. The motor turns freely! I put the plugs in and it seemed the starter didnt have enough power to really turn the motor so I am going to take the starter out and clean the positive and negative grounds. Also one of the carbs was leaking. I will post pics and videos later as I go. I just wish it was done so I can drive it!!!
