The 200b will stay its original red only because I want to get it done quick and engine bay is already that colour. hope to have it in hi fill this weekend if I get all the small rust repairs completed. I have worn the wife down to the point where she no longer knows what cars I have so adding another is a simple process, like she does with shoes. I have a few other cars besides this and she cant tell one old car from another.

don't really know how its happened but at the beginning of the year I had no Datsun's, now have 23 plus a donor car. Pics of the 240k, 180b and 200b. Also just bought another 200b sss coupe this week as a donor car. my son has decided to help with the 200b as he is going to use it and spent last weekend rubbing it down. has minimum rust, just in the bottoms of the doors, so will be welding that up this weekend and getting it in hi fill ready for paint. As you can see I have started on all 3. once the 200b is done I will concentrate on the 180b and then hopefully the Sydney company will have repair panels available for the 240k as I need new rear quarters among other items unless someone has a donor car with panels that they will sell to me.

will post up a few over the weekend. Spent last week on the 180b and after taking out the rear window found quite a bit of rust at the base of the window and into the parcel shelf area. have cut that out and made the repairs having found a donor 180b in the wreckers that was a bit more solid in that area. now need to get the front window out and see whats hiding under the bottoms of the window. only remaining area is the inside of the passenger guard at the bottom that I have cut out and need to repair but its a bit of a fiddly shape will get the 200b ready for paint first and then move onto the 240k. I bought a repair panel from the people in sydney and it fitted well. lets hope they get the 240k in and start making the panekls. timing might be just right for the 240k. Picked up a set of triple webers for the 240k so may just keep the current engine. not into speeding anywhere just want it to sound good so will fit a decent etractor and exhaust to go with the carbs.

After a good 6 months looking I finally found a 240k that is in a reasonable but requiring resto condition. During the search I was offered a 180b sss coupe with only 2 previous owners. As I cant say no I ended up buying it, then up came a 200b sss coupe in pieces for a small amount of money and I bought that. Then up came the 240k so now I have 3 cars all requiring resto works to various levels. Plans for the 240k are to fit the GTR style front and rear spoliers and flares. the front grille is a bit expensive with the funds I currently have so that may have to wait. May keep the engine as standard but with the 200b came a manual 240k box so may use this unless I go for a complete powerplant change and go for later skyline running gear. Looking for a bit of advice as I may keep the 240k with a reasonably year related engine setup but not sure yet. What is the best way to go regarding engines. The 240k will be a sunday driver but the 180b will be set up to do a few track days etc so maybe looking at a 4 cylinder turbo setup. Will post up some pics at the weekend.
  7. I rang up about the red one that went for $10k in melbourne but it went the following morning with the first one to look at it. After getting $10k he said he knew someone else that would sell theirs for the same price. Too much for me so will keep looking. Bought a 180 sss coupe to keep me going
  8. 2 240k's appeared on ebay last night. rang the owner and the c110 4 door was already sold for a lot more than it was at on ebay at the time. Great market for current owners. Bought a 180b sss coupe, same owner for 23 years with only 2 owners in total so a good basis for a resto, however still looking for a 240k if anyone knows of one
  9. The guy I bought my gtr off of inspects the cars and takes about a 100 photos. I understand anything can be hidden but this option would get me a rarer car and hopefully a good basis. If $27k is the going rate for an unfinished car what would a fully restored car go for. wish I had bought one of these a few years ago.
  10. I cant find it on ebay. It must be a nice car at that price. I spoke to the agent that imported my 33 GTR and he quoted me a figure of around 2,500,000 yen for an early skyline which equates to roughly what the 240k is currently at. That would include the import costs so I reckon I may go down that path once I have sold one of my other cars. If anyone knows of someone that may want a 1970 Dodge Superbee I may end up selling that to fund the skyline.
  11. Just joined this forum in the hope that someone might be able to give me a lead on any 240k's for sale. I know its a long shot as I have been looking on and off for a year since seeing a great looking black car at the show in Knox over a year ago. I would also consider 180b coupes as well if I could find one. I have always liked the Nissan models having owned a modified R33 GTR when I lived in the UK and fancy taking a classic style and updating it with modern running gear. I imported my skyline from Japan and have been in touch with the agent I bought it from as I would like an early GTR but they are mega bucks. Considering selling one of my other cars to fund one in the future. I have restored a lot of cars over the past 20 years or so so am happy to take on a project which is what I think I will have to do. If anyone knows of any coupes available let me know. Are there any clubs in Melbourne that cater for the Datsun coupes?
  12. Hi, i have just joined the forum in the hope that someone may know or have a 70's coupe for sale. Would consider a 240k, 180 or even a 510. Had a modified 33 GTR when i lived in the UK and just like classic cars so maybe a modded early coupe would fit the bill. Dont mind a car that needs work so anything considered up to a fully restored car. Let me know if you have anything or know someone who has a car. No problem travelling for the right car
