  4. Hey guys...can you direct me to a thread I saw mentioned but cannot find by "Carl" on starting an engine that has not been started for six years?....I'm not very knowledgeable(obvious) but don't want to mess this thing up. 1978 280z ran well when parked...the plugs and wires are new and a light weight oil sprayed int top of cylinders after last run...have new fuel filter and will change gas...any guidance is appreciated!
  5. Advanced Auto nor O'reilly's did not have fwit
  6. Thanks!....the guy I bought this thing from said he had redone all of the bushings (front?) just before I bought it...the tires and wheels are really sharp (Panasport Racing/BFG euro T/A)....they haven't been in the daylight so "look" ok....he switched it to a five speed and I,m not sure but believe he put new header on it...it has a metal foil blanket on it...am planning on draining the gas tank and blowing the lines, new fuel filter etc....all brakes will be gone through...not sure how deep I want to go...just have to see if I'm gonna fall in love or if we are just dating.....and where did all this "fish" stuff come from? I did download the manual and I have all the fluid info and more...

  8. Thanks...now if you can tell me what fluids to use?...also need to know what type brake fluid and what to use in the clutch master cyl...really appreciate it!
  9. I have done a little searching today and I cannot find any specs for the various fluids for my 280z. This car has been sitting in my garage for over 10 years now and I need to get it running and possibly sell it. I need to know engine oil spec and amount trans oil, clutch cyl fluid?, differential oil...etc some of the other threads on cleaning gas tank and adding filter were very helpful.... any other suggestions are welcome. thanks Marv
