Not all p90A heads had hydraulic lifters. mine doesnt. you will know when you have a good look at it

if its a drag car then just weld up the R200. cheap and effective
  7. Hey Gav, I made it down to the show and shine but didnt make it to the race day ( i was in the country for only 6 days and saturday night got a little out of hand :stupid: ) i had my brother and my dad run my car for me and they did a pretty good job considering they had never driven it in anger before.

Aussie260z, i have a decent amount of HP and run my car on the track rugularly. im using Z32 300ZX calipers and discs up front and an old kit for Zed's that uses AU Falcon calipers and rotors on the rear. this comes with a proper hand brake setup as well. works great and has no problem hauling the car down time and time again from 200mkh plus on a race track with no brake fade or pedal feel difference. i will PM you the details of the shop that can do this for you when i get back to sydney in a few days. oh and putting huge brakes on the front only WILL make your car stop harder in the real world. The fronts will now lock up easier at lower speeds becouse HEY YOU HAVE BIGGER BRAKES!! they are supposed to lock easier. what you will notice is your rear's will fade into oblivion, but if you get that far then your old fronts would have too and you'd be out of brakes. As long as you have those big bad brakes up front stopping it will be fine and the car will be stable the Z32/AU setup has too much brake bias to the rear so the rears lock first on mine, havent got around to putting in an adjustable proportioning valve yet.
  9. Hopping on a plane Sydney bound tonight!!! This will be fun, i havent driven a manual car or on the left hand side of the road for 4 months.
  10. nope, weight is only i tiny factor in top speed. aerodynamic drag would be the biggest thing to work on to go any faster.
  11. true that.

looks to me like the road was wet in the tunnel, the lights from the spinning 350 illuminate the ground for a split second.
  13. Old go karting trick - soak them in brake fluid for a while and they will soften right up. of course i cant account for the condition of the tyre carcass and how it will hold up on the track.........

bought these simmons OM17's last year and never looked back

holy crap dale thats some nasty stuff, your zed looks like a pancake! good thing it didnt roll over. i had a wheel come completely of the hub last year at 70kmh. not too much damage though, another story covered somewhere else. hey i think we should start an i smashed my zed thread.

hahahah oh man that look nasty!!! you can see the 350Z loop it in the tunnel then BANG!!! that is some serious damage to S30. Only thing i dont get is a black 350 goes in and a silver one comes out??? hey at least they got it on camera, that'll be a good show to watch down the line.

    a 4 banger in a Zed???? boooooo!!!!
  18. I ran the toyo RA-1 for a full supersprint season last year. they have issues when brand new, those tread blocks squirm around like crazy until they are worn down. once the tread is worn down i found them pretty consistant through several races. they held their grip level up pretty well when compared to Yokahama's and bridgestones which lose their grip after a few races. (although these tyres had more grip and a softer compound then Toyo's to begin with)
  19. Aaah who cares theres nothing wrong with talking Z car performance on a Z car site. FYI a 240Z's windscreen wipers will literally lift clear of the windscreen at 150+MPH. i havent figured that out yet
  20. just a thought..... if your doing up an info page for your car windscreen it might be an idea to put your classiczcars login name on there so when we are all wondering around we can identify what cars belong to members???
  21. Hi Steven, hahaha, no my car was good for 1:13's on toyo R comound tyres (semi slick) I will be back in australia there for the weekend but i wont be driving, thats up to my father to get those times again!! there will be a couple of cars in the 1:12's and 1:11's on slicks and semi's and maybe a blue 260Z race car doing 1:06's.
  22. Tom, thats very strong mate i wouldnt worry about more headwork/cam etc. A few guys in the Sydney Z club have similiar setups to yours and are getting about the same at the wheels. if you want more grunt than this from a half steetable engine then you will need to go bigger capacity. to move your power band you will need more compression. so thats new pistons or rods. and hell if your going to do that bore those cylinders out 3mm. what you have sounds pretty good to me.
  23. you have to wonder what the point is.does anyone know if actually produces any power? it would be interesting trying to balance all those turbos out, plus the PSI you would have to push through to generate enough exhaust gas to spin 8 tubines. i suppose you can't have one without the other. i think for it to work you would need tiny tubos to match the 712 CC' cylinder they are blowing into. of course theres quite the show value....
