My 73 has also production date 9/72...vin 124355... and my car has all these changes, that's why I was surprised to see them in a 1971 production car... It seems that these changes applied in 71

Incredibly Original 1972 240Z on eBay
why I see parts from 1973 Z there? radio, center console, 240z roof pillar emblem, rear door without air vents... Am I missing something here? I thought these changes were made in 1973 models (built in 1972)

'73 240Z rebuild...slow project but I love it :)
I didn't do something new... I just followed the procedure in the following link http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/22325-dash-repair-processpictures/ I used the Great Stuff Pro, a bumper repair (not the SEM but one I could find in my country), a texture paint spray and a trim black spray. I cleaned the dash, reinforced the back area where the crack was applied the Great Stuff after a while I open some space for the bumper repair and then... I sanded and sanded and sanded again and again until the outcome was good for me... somewhere here, I finished sanded... then cleaned the surface and sprayed the texture paint and then cleaned the texture "effect" with scotch brite... then I sprayed with trim black, then again with texture paint, scotch brite again and then one more time trim black spray and finished :) finished photos on my first post

hello my friends Thought to open a new topic rather than continue my Z progress in the introduction area...you can see how I started there Introduction This is a copy of my last reply in the introduction... sorry to duplicate it but I have to start this topic with something I knew it was going to be a slow progress due to the lack of time... I do all the things on my own and since I have a family with two little boys, the time for my Z is very limited. So, all this time I did the following tasks Removed the factory tar insulation to check for hidden rust Epoxy primer everywhere... Then painted original silver (the oem color is silver) New tar insulation On top of that I added an extra thermal/ noise insulation and I hope tomorrow find time to finish with the jute carpet padding on floors and tunnel I finished the dash, I am really happy with the result... before and after

hello there... one year later and I still have a lot to do with my car... done few things though and I am happy I knew it was going to be a slow progress due to the lack of time... I do all the things alone and since I have a family with two little boys, the time for my Z is very limited. So, all this time I did the following tasks Removed the factory tar insulation to check for hidden rust Then painted original silver (the oem color is silver) New tar insulation On top of that I added an extra thermal/ noise insulation and I hope tomorrow find time to finish with the jute carpet padding on floors and tunnel I finished the dash, I am really happy with the result... before and after I hope this weekend to finish with the whole interior... lets see... I have told this so many times before

Hi from Greece...
no, the car was in good condition... Most of the dust came from when I did the floors... lot of rust dust went behind the dash and inside the air vents... I was going to remove the dash anyway, so I didn't do a good job covering the dash when I did the floors...

Hi from Greece...
that's true Captain... At the beginning I searched for heater filters and that is why I didn't find anything... now that I searched for heater foam I found some good info thanks I will post photos with my progress when I finish
-
Hi from Greece...
I will probably use something universal... let's save some money from somewhere for a change
-
Hi from Greece...
ok, I guess I am wrong... I was referring to what Captain Obvious wrote... those floppy dirty pieces of foam and vinyl... nice description Captain can we find those anywhere? do I really need those? I guess I can use a universal foam in there just for the dust...

Hi from Greece...
I can't find any part numbers for the filters inside the heater... I can't find any photos of these anywhere... any help? I could just use universal filters... as you can see, cleaning the back and inside of the dash is a must... I will post photos after I clean and paint everything to look like new sorry for few photos that need rotation but this was done while uploading them...In my computer these photos look ok...
