  1. Installed my Watanabe center caps. Makes the wheels look more "finished"
  2. Yes, that was the tricky part. Just used a heat gun to make it more pliable.
  3. Thanks, yeah I didnt like the way the provided black trim looked. The chrome classes it up a little bit
  4. Hello everyone, it's been awhile. Just thought I would update this thread with a couple small things I did to the Z today. First I bought some chrome door edging for my headlight covers. i think they turned out pretty good. Before: After: It makes these cheap headlight covers look....well...less cheap. Also found a set of real Watanabe center caps for my not so Watanabe wheels. They were silver so I painted them black. I will post installed pics tomorrow, must be patient to let paint dry.
  5. Looking great! Im not a huge fan of flares, but damn those molded flares are sex.
  6. Hey guys, looking for some advice. I'm running a 3.0L stroker and a short ratio 5 speed putting down roughly 240hp/220tq to the wheels. I'm currently running my factory rear open diff with the 3.36 gears I believe. Time for a new diff. I want an LSD for sure but cant decide on the 3.90 or 4.11 ratios. Will there even be a noticeable difference between the two? Would the 4.11's be too much for cruising speeds? I've searched and read other threads but looking specifically for info regarding the difference between the two. Thanks!
  7. Sorry to bring this up again, but just noticed that the "WELD IN" replacement tabs are $10 EACH, I was referring to the rubber cover that goes over your existing tabs. They are here for $5 each. http://www.240zrubberparts.com/apps/webstore/products/show/5683920 I think these would be a wise investment, I tried a couple different rubber coatings/plastidip and they turn messy with all the heat. I wish I would've just bought these.
  8. Thats true, I will be able to fix/replace anything on the car other than inside the motor. Thats where I leave it to the pros. Even though I will probably never be able to sell it for what I have in it, I'm still very happy and lucky I got the opportunity to go through the entire build process.
  9. Umm, I stopped counting after 30k. I even got a good deal on paint and body work, did the rust repair and pretty much everything else myself. I did spend a good chunk of change on the motor though...
  10. Hopefully it's inspiration for your build!
  11. Yeah, mine were in decent shape so I taped them off before painting. Big mistake, I wish I would've stripped them and had them painted body color, then either dip them or buy new tab covers.
  12. Looks great! What are you going to do with the wire harness holders in the engine bay?
  13. I think you will definitely be fine, I only had to slightly adjust the camber on my rears just a little bit to clear my tires. I could go more if I needed. Im very happy with the coilovers, they give me the adjust-ability I needed and the stance that I wanted.
  14. Hang in there! You're doing greaat! BTW, i'm still finding media in my car
  15. OMG that just made me spit out my coffee!!!
  16. Anyone know the depth of speaker that these allow? Since our fusebox sits rather flush, we may be able to still put a speaker in. Or even use some sort of spacer for the passenger side.
  17. Ahh, thats right. Forgot about that.
  18. Nice gifts! Happy Holidays to you and your family.
  19. Curious...what if you were to have a 280, but have removed the ecu from the drivers kick. Would these fit??
  20. I got really lucky, my spindle pins came right out.
  21. Great work! Seeing all these restoration pics takes me back and makes me want to build another Z.......
  22. Not sure. Probably a no name brand that BC bought.
