Yeah it sounds like we had similar experiences. It is a bit noisy but I asked a local Datsun expert here in Colorado and he said its normal. You can click on my build thread in my sig I have the video posted there.

I let her see some sunshine today. Took her to RallyeSport here in Denver to get the carbs properly tuned for the elevation. He's also going to dyno it so I will have some wheel hp numbers. Next stop is the body shop to have the hood and fenders installed and aligned.

This week I will be getting my carbs tuned for this altitude, switch the oil pump around, and get my hood and fenders back on. I got a new voltage regulator and a new battery. And a new toy for me. I was outgrowing my old tool box pretty quickly. This was on sale at Home Depot for $250 and I couldnt resist!

I will have a custom 2.5" built going to a high flow Borla muffler. Maybe a resonator if it has any drone.

It's actually a lot louder than in the video. No exhaust. But the camera didn't pick up the sound very well

Ask and you shall recieve. The acoustics in my garage are less than desirable. Or it could be my crappy cell phone, But here you go. It needs some fine tuning but it idles great and revs nice.

Thank you, this does help. I was just about to order the 8910 after reading everyones input on here. I'm thinking the 280z has a different tach input than the 240z.

I never seen it until last October I caught an episode and I was like damn that's awesome! So me and my wife watched the first episode on Netflix and we're hooked. We spent the next 3 weeks watching all 4 seasons.

Problem is that I spent over $100 on custom length wires that now look really funky. I'll try and post a video tonight.

I know. I'm pretty worried that I messed something up. Hopefully noyhing serious to the motor. It propbably popped 4 or 5 times total. But it runs smooth now with no smoke or anything so my fingers are crossed. This just baffles me as well. The more I think about it the more upset I get. I was going to call him today and tell him, but I'm over it. Its not a difficult fix. Sure I shouldnt have to do it since I paid a small fortune for him to build it properly but hey...now I will know how to change an oil pump!

Just realized that he put in a turbo zx oil pump. Does that make a difference?

Hello, for those who are using the MSD 6al where did you find your ignition wire? Ive found plenty of them but none that stay12 volts while starting. They all drop down to zero. Ive tested it with a constant 12v and it works fine.

I think he is just overwhelmed and busy. Which results in small mistakes and less communication. If this is the worse thing that happens, Im happy. The motor sounds amazing. I will try and get a video up soon.

He must've changed the wires while on the dyno, and never changed the oil pump. Who knows. I'm definitely going to change it, I just wanted to be sure that was the issue
