  1. Yes, I will be getting the K&N filter set up.
  2. I definitely will. It probably wont be anytime soon, still have lots to do!
  3. Water under the bridge...... With the help of a couple friends and a few beers, I got the motor installed. Here's some pics. Headers and carbs dry fitted to see how they looked. I will need to trim a little off the intake manifold. I'll be replacing the valve cover soon, just need some new bolts.
  4. Thank you everyone for your concern. Okay, after taking some time to calm down and having a few drinks...I called Dave at Rebello. Apparently my block that I sent to him wasn't usable due to the cylinders needing to be bored to far. After being bored out the cylinder walls still had pits in them. So he made the decision to replace the block. Which I am ok with, I just wish he would've called and told me. He also emailed me my receipt and dyno sheet. He assured me that these carbs were used during the dyno, just with a different intake manifold. That would explain the loose nuts. I can also smell fuel in the carbs. So I may have over reacted a little, he was and has been friendly on the phone he just seems like hes always in a hurry. This is also the first motor I've sent out to get rebuilt so I didn't really know what to expect. I guess all I would complain about would be the lack of communication and the time it took but as long as its a good product in the end.....I will be happy. Here are the specs. L28 with N42 head 3.0L Stroker 89mm Cast Pistons L24 rods with ARP bolts Turbo oil pump 63DI 109 Hot B Cam Triple 45 DCOE Weber Carbs Port & Polished head Port matched intake 11:1 compression Dyno Sheet: So...... nice solid torque from 4200 to 6500 and a peak HP of over 300. I'm beginning to get excited again!
  5. Well....my motor showed up today. Not sure if I should be excited or pissed off. I guess a little of both. My entire interaction with Rebello Racing has been absolutely awful. First off, this isnt even my block. Different numbers. I told him in the beginning that I wanted it to remain a "numbers matching" car so I would like to use my block. Which I know this isnt a huge deal, its not like its a concourse car but still, I have no idea why he switched blocks on me. Second. Absolutely ZERO communication! The only time I talked to him is when I would call him and ask how things are going. I didnt even get a call from him to tell me that it was done! The shipping company called me. Third. Absolutely ZERO paperwork. No dyno sheet (even after I asked him for one), No receipt, no invoice, no spec sheet, no anything! Ridiculous! I can go on and on......valve cover is leaking, missing parts (engine hoist brackets, intake manifold studs, etc). And all of the bolts on the carbs are barely finger tight. So I know these carbs weren't used on a dyno or tuned for this motor like he said. I doubt the motor was even dyno'd. I paid nearly a $1000 to have him dyno and tune the motor! Also he told me 6-8 weeks, hahaha. 8 months it took. And he charged me well over the original quoted price! Im not sure what to do, I guess i'll just put it in and get it tuned somewhere local. Its just frustrating that I waited so long and paid big $$$ and feel like Ive been ripped off. I just hope the motor runs as good as his reputation is. Ayways heres some pics.
  6. Excellent Rossiz! I will be getting around to doing this with some fiberglass bumpers soon. Thanks for the write up
  7. I picked up my valve cover from the powder coater yesterday. Its red wrinkle coat but not as much wrinkle as I thought . Nice texture though. Also I got my passenger side regulator from a fellow forum member zKars. Good guy! Now I have 2 fully functioning doors. And I received my new center console from MSA. I took advantage of their free shipping over black friday.
  8. Yea it's the MSA kit. It's laid down a little nicer now but still not great. No sign of the motor yet....
  9. Started working more on the interior. Installed my rear strut housing covers. Didn't turn out too bad. Also test fit my rear cargo carpet piece. Looks nice but has bends in it that wont lay down flat. Hopefully they will eventually. Also refinished my steering wheel
  10. Thanks Chas, i'm trying to be as patient as possible.
  11. I pulled the trigger and ordered them. I will let you guys know how they fit.
  12. Yeah I noticed the backs were open. I was thinking of using my gaskets with them if they fit.
  13. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RED-AMBER-FRONT-REAR-SIDE-MARKER-LAMP-DATSUN-FAIRLADY-280Z-240Z-260Z-510-120Y-/160818381451?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item257185c28b&vxp=mtr Im usually not one to buy cheap knock off stuff but these look pretty nice and for $20 + shipping they may be worth it. Just wondering if anyone else has bought them. I bought a hood prop clip from this seller and got it within a week.
  14. Hi Mike, yea my car is exempt (Thankfully) The cutoff is 75
  15. So i'm ditching the fuel injection system for a triple carb setup when my motor gets back from Rebello. Its a 75 280Z. What all can I get rid of in the engine bay? I'm trying to keep as nice and clean as possible. Could I completely remove the drivers side harness? It seems to be mainly for the fuel injectors. -Matt
  16. I have a pair. Theyre black. Not in the greatest shape but not horrible. I'll take a pic of them and you can see what you think.
  17. Looking good! You should coat this inside of that bumper with a rust encapsulator of some kind. Keep it looking nice.
  18. Theres also companies that make drive up ramps. Try raceramps.com
  19. Frustrated! Sorry but I need to rant. Still waiting for my motor to get back from Rebello. I was originally told 4-6 weeks and its been over 6 months now. Plus $800 over quoted price. When I called Dave back in August some time he told me "its just about done". When I called him in September he told me "we just need to dyno it". Then when I called him in October he said "Im just waiting for a head gasket and some parts". Last time I talked to him was 3 weeks ago and he said he just needs to dyno it and it would be done at the end of the week. Haven't heard anything since. I've stopped calling him and bugging him because I don't want to be that guy, but I was really planning on being close to done with my build by now. I understand these things take time and things happen but I feel like i'm getting the run around. But if the motor is as good as his reputation is I will be happy. That is all thank you.
  20. cool, could you send me a pic of it? Im not sure if they changed them in 76 or 77.
