  1. I'm pretty sure the 77 is different. They went with the raised hatch floor that year. I think the 240 up to 75-76 280 were the same spare. I'm googling now trying to find some options
  2. Help me I'm missing something! Does anyone have a spare wheel they need to get rid of? I'm willing to pay for your troubles...Mine never came with one and I can't seem to find any around.
  3. Still rides a little stiff, but handles the corners with ease!
  4. Actually its about 2.75" at the lowest point This is after I raised the car up an inch. She hates speed bumps!
  5. So one thing that has been bugging me lately is the condition of my fuel tank straps. They really didn't come out that great when I had them plated and are showing corrosion. I bought a pair of Skillard's stainless steel straps for $99 and they turned out great. Here's what the old straps looked like. As you can see, not great. Here are the Skillard straps. I glued some rubber foam to the inside. Very well made. And installed after a little touch up spray on the tank with trim black. Ahh much better!
  6. Thank you, I appreciate that! I had a chance to drive around and listen to some tunes today and I am pretty happy with the setup. I'm running the Polk speakers off of the deck power so they're not super loud, but they sound pretty decent. I would imagine if they were amped that they would sound much better.
  7. I got my kick panels in and installed my speakers. I was able to flush mount them from behind saving me a little bit of room. I may install the grill later if it becomes an issue. Right now theres plenty of clearance so I am pretty happy. The stereo sounds great! I could probably use a little more bass, I might buy a powered sub down the road. We'll see. Drivers side Passenger The rears mounted in the stock locations.
  8. I may have missed it but what did you spray the interior with? It looks like a silver from the pics
  9. Thats good to hear! I'm glad you're happy with them. I might end up running an amp later on if I want a little more uumph. Your head unit install turned out great!
  10. I started upgrading my stereo system. Well...actually my factory radio never worked so I guess this will be the first time I will have tunes in the car. I decided to go with a RetroSound head unit and (4) Polk Audio 5.25 speakers. I know it wont be crazy loud, but I just wanted something to listen to while i'm cruisin. The head unit is pretty cool, it has the classic look but will play bluetooth, usb, Sirius, etc. and has preamp outputs if I later decide to install an amp and sub. The front speakers will be mounted in Dereks kick panels and the rears will be in the back factory locations. Got the head unit installed
  11. Thanks, my buddy is a tech at an independent Toyota shop so he helps me out on stuff thats over my head
  12. I also got my brakes dialed in. They were professionally bled and the rear drums needed some adjustment. I was able to sneak some under skirt shots too.
  13. Fixed up my rear view mirror. I sanded it down and used the same bedliner spray that I used on my dash. I think it turned out pretty good.
  14. If you end up replacing the brake master, be careful of the reaction disc behind the push rod. If that falls out you will have a huuuuuge headache. Ask me how I know.
  15. Thanks man. As of right now I am going to fix a few minor issues and just enjoy driving it this summer. It's already much more fun to drive with that ignition issue fixed and the suspension dialed in!
  16. Back at it! Lately I've been working out some bugs I have on the car. My first issue was an intermittent ignition problem that I had. Every once in awhile the car would just crank and crank without starting. Come to find out it was simply a faulty ignition switch (about the only thing that I didn't replace). Second, I wanted to address my suspension. It wasn't too terrible but the BC coilovers were a little harsh for my taste. After some researching, I ended up, 1). Raising the car about an inch. 2). Found out that the rear coilovers had too much preload on the Springs, so they were adjusted. 3). Let out about 5 psi on my tires Now the car rides soooo much better! No longer cringe at the thought of going over a pothole. Very happy about this! Next up are the brakes. They need to be professionally adjusted and possibly re-bled. I will be getting this done next week.
  17. Really? I would've never thought of this. Ill give it a shot
  18. Hey guys! So after my restoration I've been getting a lot of squeaking and creaking from the rear plastic panels of my 280z. Usually its the worst when the car flexes a little (Like backing out at an angle over a driveway). The rear quarters and the rear headliner piece mostly. Has anyone found a good remedy for this? I was thinking of taking the pieces off and glueing some sort of felt or thin foam strip where they make contact.
