  1. Excellent work! Thats going to look amazing.
  2. Haha, yeah its definitely slowed down. Ive been enjoying taking it out on cruises this summer. I had to replace the U joints in the half shafts, so that took a while. Next week it will be going on the dyno to get some final tuning done. I have some plans for this winter......stay tuned.
  3. Thank you. Not much gurgling or popping, maybe a little while decelerating. As far as torque goes, not a whole lot around 3k but between 4-5k.....OH BABY!
  4. Yeah im feeling the same way. I think the black looks good, but just not quite right. Like it looks "cheaper" or something. (probably because it is). Thats a great idea with the vinyl I may try that
  5. Yeah I feel that the black takes away from the classic look, but it does look nice with the black wheels
  6. So my 280Z has the black fiberglass bumpers on her now but I've been contemplating getting some chrome bumpers but cant decide. What do you guys think?
  7. Probably not, but at this point i'm not too worried about it.
  8. Not sure, I had them powder coated. Maybe it happened then? Its very slight and I cant feel it while driving.
  9. Yep brand new Konigs. I swapped with the front wheel and it was fine. Oh well, I was thinking of getting new wheels anyway. I would rather it be the wheel than the hub.
  10. The wobble ended up being an "out of round" wheel.
  11. Check the strut mounts up top, they might be loose. This reminds me of a time when I took my 4runner in for service because of some random "thumps". I told them " i think its the u joints in the driveshaft", they ended up replacing the rack and pinion instead. It was way worse when I picked it up. All the bolts were loose and some were missing. It ended up being the U joints.
  12. Left it off for now, I kinda like the way it looks without it
  13. Yeah I noticed that as well. I'm hoping it's just the raised lettering on the tire. I'm getting an alignment this week and I'll get it checked out
  14. I finally got a decent video camera. A Sony Action Cam. Took the Z out for a stroll, check it out.
  15. I have the 4kg rear and 5kg front which I believe is the lowest spring rate they have available. Plus my dampening is all the way down
  16. Overall I think they're great. The ride is nice and tight. Its a lot more firm than a set of Eibach lowering springs. Not that its uncomfortable or harsh...really the only time I feel it is when I hit a pothole or something. That could be the low profile tires too. I wouldn't do any higher of a spring rate unless it was a track car.
  17. I just wanted to close out this build thread with a huge Thank you to all the members here that helped and inspired me to get through this project. I've seen a lot of these build threads start out strong and end up with the owner selling the car or losing interest, and believe me, I was almost there a couple times. But everytime I had an issue, there was someone here willing to lend a helpful hand. I will still be on this forum checking out everyone's projects and post new things that I've changed or added to my Z but I would say mines pretty much complete. Thanks again! -Matt
  18. I went to my first car show today, and got 1st place in the Datsun/Nissan class! Feeling pretty happy.
