I've been wondering weather ou trannies have brass syncros or not. cuzz if we do, i have the rong fluid in there. Im using gl-5 stuff. I have a tranny out of an 80 280zx. one of the early 5spds. do all the l series tranny have brass syncros? or no? and wat types of gear oil are u guys using?

I installed a crane cam xr3000 on my 280 and now my tach doesnt work rite. its doesnt read untill i get it up to high rpms... How do i make the tach work on the system?

its like a light blue....close to a baby blue color but not exactly, i cant really help u cuzz im not exactly sure wat i would call the color.

well, i checked the plug for the coolant temp switch and it was fine. I guess i'll have to check my fuel pressure with a guage and see if its that.

yeah, i made sure all the injectors are in the coorect place. i looked for the number and wrote it on with whiteout so i could see it. By adjusting the tension, wouldnt it retrict airflow tho?

i dont have a cold start injector or an air regulator. Its running really rich, even when im on the gas it sounds like its missfiring. But like i said in the other post about wat i did with the fuel pump. and when i rev'd it, it was fine. I'll try it out and see wat happens. My MAfs looks fine. i didnt have a filter on there and it opens jus fine.

Ok, so i jus got my car running again. its runnin really rich, Theres smoke and the car is runnign rough. I notic when i unplug the fuel pump when the car is running, that it begins to smooth out the idle or when i rev it. SO i kept tappin the fuel pump so it didnt stay on constantly and it ran jus fine. wat is rong? Fuel pressure regulator? Mafs? wat could it be? It all started after i changed the injector plugs.

my car ran perfect with everything im using when everything was still on the other car. i swapped the gas tank and fuel pump. my dash lights n things are acting up too. so i tink its my wiring maybe? we'll have to see, now i have to deal with fixing my van first. need to replace the head gasket. =T soo much too do. soo little time

ok, so i tried to swap the fuel pump. still no luck. I guess i have to try n swap the wireing harness n check the altenator. Who has done The 60mm tb swap? Help me out here. Maybe im running to lean my friend thinks. It also back fires out the intake when it begins to stall.

Im lookin for some wheels i can put on my car to trash. so if anyone has any bent wheels or unwanted wheels that will fit a 280z. please let me know. Im in Oakland CA. I will come pick them up.

ok, so i've tried to plug the air regulator back on. no luck. I've also jus installed the jsk fuel rail. I guess its helped a bit. i can actually have the car running for maybe 1 min tops. then it begins to die out after like 30secs. So wat do u guys think? altenator? fuel pump? those are the only things i can think of right now.

Ok, so i jus swapped a 77 motor into my 78 shell. Im using the 78 ecu. I also have a 240sx 60mm tb with the 240sx tps. I never touched it. i pluged everything back where it supposed to be. Now when i start up the car. I can rev it up a bit for maybe a few seconds then it'll begin to stall and if i try to give it gas, the rev's drop and car tries to stall n when i let off the gas, the revs may come bak up a bit then it'll jus stall most of the time. wat is going on here? can anyone help me figure this out? Oh yeah, i also removed the air regulator.

door changes
well, if the late 74.5-76 doors are different from the 69-73, then that means that the they made another change to the doors. I say that because i had a 76 and was goin to use the doors on my 78. but it had a different latch system which i notice was the same as the 240z. So if im not mistaken, the 69-76 have the same doors. and the 77-78 have differnt doors.

which intake manifold has bigger runners?
ok, so i dont need to know n e more because i decided to just use mine. Now im tryin to figure out wats the best way to port out and polish the runners. I want to at least polish it( smooth out the insides). Any suggestions?

Ok. Im in the prosess of port matchin my intake manifold and was lookin at the runner inner diameters on my 280z's manifold. My friend has a 83 280zx and we've had his intake off b4. He compared it to a different manifold (not sure wat car it came from, maybe a maxima?) and his manifold had larger runners. Im not exactly sure of it but i tink it does. So i compared mine to the other manifold and it was the same size. So my question is basicly, does the 280zx intake manifold have larger bore runners than the one on my 77 280z? And another question is, does anyone know if it would be better to use the 280zx manifold because it has a different design? which design is better?

78 280z. no hood no bumper no head light scoop. use for parts car or gut it for race car. no diff. broken valve in the head. chassis is stra8. rusted battery tray. bring ur own wheels to take it. unless i can find some wheels i dont need.
