MSA Manifold Nut & Stud Kit
Do you know the nissan part# that work with MSA studs? I already installed the MSA kit and there is no room for lock washers on the ones that I put the manifold spacer that hold the header/intake together. I am getting mixed answers on what is the correct thing to do. No washer, lock washer, out of round.?..What is working for people using the MSA kit without having to re torque all the time?

MSA Manifold Nut & Stud Kit
I am replacing my gasket for my header leak and was wondering If I need split lock washers. I did not see any on the MSA Manifold Nut & Stud Kit. I tried searching here but getting mixed answers as to the proper way. How do you torque the nuts on the lower ones that you cant even get a torque wrench on? Are they all accessible with a socket wrench? I'm thinking I can only use an open end to get to those nuts. Do I need to take the thermostat housing off to get to bolts underneath?

Did more carb tuning to make car more rich and found where header leak is which affects plug#2 and #3 I believe. Im happy its not too lean anymore. Now I am going to fix header leak then check valves. Plug#1 plug#2 plug#3 plug#4 plug#5 plug#6

1972 240z SU carbs used colortune showed constant blue. I will try again maybe richen up more towards orange. Plugs are brand new BPR6ES-11 gapped .44 electronic Ignition. Not sure how many turns on the idle mixture just set it according to colortune. I haven't adjusted valves I just bought the car it has slight header leak so cant really hear the valves. I haven't set timing yet either not sure what to set that at. Thanks for the help

rear su carb not fueling
Thanks for all the great suggestions. I got it working again. I ended up changing the glass filter which had crud in it and made sure I got fuel to the carbs. Then I cleaned the small banjo bolt filters and drained out the float bowl. Im not sure If I should of done this but sprayed into the 3 holes on the float bowl with carb cleaner. I never opened float bowl because I don't have any gaskets. I reconnected everything and she started right up. The next day I saw this so I bought some Techron and put in tank hoping it will clear it up. Actually after I started it again it is now clear so something overnight caused that.

rear su carb not fueling
Would that be the banjo bolt small round filters? I haven't opened the lid yet don't have any gaskets. Does the drain screw on float bowl need a new washer after opening or can I just drain it and put back on?

rear su carb not fueling
My car was running perfectly till this morning it started right up and then just bogged and died. I figured it wasnt getting fuel. So then I checked the fuel filter which was a clear glass filter and it was super dirty. I replaced it and got car running but it was running super rough like it was missing and sure enough pulling the wires on back 3 plugs while running and it didn't stumble. So now I think the rear carb has issues. Could the needle be clogged from dirt that got through? While it was running I pinched the idle mixture hose from the float it didn't stall so it seems like it isn't getting fuel. Is there a way to check the back su carb to know if its functioning? I pulled the fuel hose going to float bowl and it was getting fuel to that point. I just not sure what to check next. I dont have much experience with these carbs any help I would appreciate helping me as a beginner. Thanks, Joe 1972 240z

Electric fuel pump question
Do I need to regulate the pressure or is it enough? I think its only 6 volts it looks exactly like this Airtex E8902 6 Volt Low Pressure Fuel Pump or Primer Pump 2 5 4PSI 30GPH | eBay Where do I hook up electrical near fuel tank? I have been reading to put an inline filter before pump to avoid problems. Thanks, Joe 1972 240z P.S. I just read this review on amazon for Airtex e8902 "The pump started operating intermittently, and that was a pain to understand (was it the wiring, the ignition switch, clogged filter, clogged line from the tank.....), and then failed completely. The designers used an unprotected control chip in a 6 volt pump destined for old vehicles known to experience all kinds of voltage spikes. When I called tech support the individual explained that the power to the pump must be filtered, especially if the pump is actuated through the ignition key. DAAAAA That is the normal way of connecting the pump, yet there was no warning instruction or filter recommendation. You can see by looking at the circuit including the key and ignition coil that turn off the key creates a reverse voltage spike in excess of 100 volts across the pump, requiring a diode, and possibly a capacitor, to protect the electronic chip. Basic electrical engineering. These elements should have been part of the chip design. As designed, every buyer can expect an early failure."

Electric fuel pump question
I just bought the car so trying to figure out the setup. I guess If one fails you still have the other. Probably would be better in back If only using electric pump.

Su carb bowl to nozzle hose
New to the forum here. I purchased a 1972 240z from a member here. I want to replace the carb bowl to nozzle hoses. Does it matter what type of fuel hose I use? I saw this link and was wondering if it had to be thin or special type hose. SU CARB BOWL TO NOZZLE HOSE
