  1. Well im just seeking for advice on how to grease the original 72 choke cable and adjust it correctly. Im doing this tomorrow hencr i need your advice and not some guy thinking he is smarter than Einstein!
  2. Just want to know how much slack ahould i cut from the choke cable. This guy shows up with dumb reasoning out of the blue. Guess his Iq is below average!
  3. Hey man you dont know me! Im just asking a simple question and you come here with your arrogant bs comments! If you are not gonna help get a hike! Never offended no one in this forum. Wanna tell me something ill meet you at the park!
  4. How easy should the choke lever move? I believe the original choke cable is bent somewhere. If i pull the choke handle all the way back the jet still does not move at all. I need to lift up the plastic console so i can pull it all the way back and them it starts lowering the nozzle.
  5. Hi, Is this the correct method of adjusting both choke cables on my 72 240z? i guess i must have a lot of slack as if i pull the lever all the way back i get to 1,300 rpms only. Need a deeper explanation or video.
  6. Ill check on that as i hate that light coming on when i step on the gas. Too sensitive. Guess its a bad design also.
  7. Where exactly is making contact when the lever is all the way closed? I thought that tightening the upper screw could solve this. Maybe some electric contact cleaner or wd40 can help? Anyone?
  8. Which screw needs tightening and/ or cleaning? Do i need to remove the complete cover assembly to verify this?
  9. I know this is an old thread. This morning i cranked the engine waited for 2 mins to warm up with choke lever fully pushed back raising the rpm to 1200. Nevertheless, on hard acceleration the yellow choke light started turning on. How do i tackle this correctly? Do i need a another person helping me inside the cabin while if i need to unscrew the screws that fasten the choke cable to both carbs nozzles? I want to set the choke cables as they came from factory.
  10. Gundee, Since i decided to break the engine and remove the cylinder head. Should i order a new set of valves, valve guides and seals? These are the specification of the engine. The only thing we have changed are the rocker arms and replaced the cam to a schneider 274F cam.
  11. Thanks so much Gundee. I really dont want to spend money buying a distributor or messing with it if mine is fully working. I prefer investing in the parts i will need once the head is cracked open. What i really dont want to do is open the engine and then find out there are no parts locally here in Panama. I prefer buying those parts in advance. Which set of gasket would you recommend? Do you think a temporary solution would be installing a spark plug non fouler?
  12. Well in Panama nobody knows or wants to deal with these carb fueled engines. I thought i could test the other dizzy i have just removing and inserting it in the same position where the actual dizzy is. My mechanic says the engine needs to be opened and taken to machine shop. Thats all i know.
  13. Here are some pics i took this afternoon of the stock dizzy before i start removing it. The dizzy just goes in one way. What details should i consider before replacing the other one i have?
  14. I have a timing light and know the engine timing is correct. Just want to swap the dizzy to eliminate this from troubleshooting list.
