Thanks man. I really think the seal is broken or damaged. I already checked and swapped 2 distributor caps and spark plug 4 still gets fouled even after replacing it with a hotter one such as bp5es

They are all gapped at .031

Hard accelerating for 40 mins on highway, parked the car and have the following resultd cyl 4 ,5 and 6. Spark plug on cyl 4 shows a lot of difference.

Would you recommend a final test drive and take the plugs out after leaving the car idling for more than 20 mins?

Spark plug number 5 and 4 oily. This is a hotter plug bp5es.

Well since i bought all the complete valve seal set i believe its better to change them all, so ill guess the head must be removed. What kind of hassle. Mechanic here is charging US$200 for removing the head.

How hard could it be to replace only number 4 seal? Any step by step tutorial to to this safely without taking the carbs and head out of the engine?

Straightening, restoring and painting air filter box

I was in need of straightening, restoring and painting my orange air filter box in my 72 240z. Unfortunately, the guy that painted the metal box did not tried his best by messing up the finish and wasted all the orange 240z spray. Do you guys think i can get that same stock factory orange color at any paint shop or do i really need to buy 2 bottles of spray can from the US?

Its not about cost. Its about local availability. I paid 21 for this master clutch and 15 for the slave. I hope it lasts a couple of years. I only use this car on sundays.

Master clutch cylinder went south. This part was never changed Since i bought this car in 2014. Would you recommend buying beck/arnley at rockauto or any better supplier / brand?

suddenly tje clutch pedal went all over to the floor, no resistance whatsoever and cannot engage first gear. Should i change the slave and master cylinder? Which brand should i purchase? Its really weird as it was working before . Also noticed that the brake booter reservoir is half empty.

So you all recommend not taking out the cylinder head refurbished by California Datsun maybe 10 years ago? Mechanics here in Panama charge anywhere from usd 200 to 250 only to take out the head and put it back in. This is exclusive of the cost the machine shop will charge to verify the head cylinder and change all the stem seals.

Can someone elaborate in the correct and safe procedure to remove the cylinder head and replace the broken or torn valve seals on cylinder 4? I watch a video on youtube of a guy inserting a rope inside cylinder 4 and a special tool to decompress the retainer spring. I guess its.better to remove the complete head. Also which gaskets will i need to replace?

Jajajja. Not the same thing. Asides i believe mine has shrunk as there is a gap letting light out. If you give me the precise size and type of screws maybe i can paint them.

Still sesrching those 3 black screws. I used some stainless steel screws and washers and now i would really like to get the correct screws. Anyone has a clue of the precise size, type snd where to get them?

I am talking the cylinder head out to verify everything is fine and replace all seals. Im done with testing. 6 years testing and same issue.
