  1. Plug 4 after 20 mins of driving and stopping on traffic lights back home
  2. Just tried a new plug. Car starts to misfire once it gets stucked in traffic. Im about to get a new valve cover gasket, open the valve cover and adjust the valves to see if there is something wrong with that 4th cylinder.
  3. Ok. Im doing a compression test right now. This car has not the stock camshaft. It has a schneider 274f cam and oversized pistons. Should i consider sourcing a stock camshaft?
  4. I removed spark plug number 4 and it came out oily and with the gap closed. Weird.
  5. Resistance measurent plugs 4 and 3 from inside cap terminal to spark plug boot
  6. Yes i have a multimeter. What do you want me to measure? Slide s spark plug in one end and measure resistance? I alrrady swapped cables 3 and 4 and still no change in idle on cyl 4. Could the distributor be bad?
  7. This cap is brand new. Ill take a picture inside and measure resistance from both ends of each of the 6 wires.
  8. I had a spare set of 6 ngk wires. Could something be wrong in the dizzy?
  9. I dont think so just try different wires and with the anti foul or directly if you pull the wire from that cylinder there is no change in idle at all.
  10. Actual state of plugs without anti foul extender. 6 5 4 3 2 1 order. 4 being the most fouled.
  11. Ill try that again? Is it necessary to take the car for a spin and get stucked in traffic to do these tests? Or can i just do it leaving the car idling at the parking lot until spark plug fouls?
  12. I bought this car already modified by california datsun so i really dont know if they rebuilt the engine correctly or not!
  13. Should i try a hotter spark in cylinder 4 which is fouling? BP5ES? I want to test everything before opening the engine! Please advise.
  14. Those ngk wires are new, cap and rotor also.
  15. Mark, Sorry i couldnt keep up with your recommendations on solving this weird misfire issue on the car´s 4th cylinder but the starter engine went south and i had to purchase a new remanufactured one. I have read so much on this matter and even though the compression test results were good i still believe there must be a valve not working properly. I drive the car a couple of blocks or leave the car running for 25 to 30 mins and the 4th spark plug starts fouling. If you step on the gas pedal, the engine starts missing power until the spark plug is cleaned. Any other option other than getting inside the engine to change the seal or valve in that cylinder? Should i purchase a 14 mm spark plug extender that avoids the spark plug getting fouled? https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-42000-Spark-Plug-Non-Fouler/dp/B000BYD9Z8/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=14mm+spark+plug+extender&qid=1602790752&sr=8-2
  16. Just replaced the starter with a new remanufactured one. Car started right away! Case closed!
  17. what about getting a spark plug extender. I still think it could be a valve seal as this engine was remanufactured by California Datsun. I am about to open the engine and change all the valve seals. Any other option?
  18. People here are lost. They dont know how to repair starters and are no interested in helping.
  19. Another thing, which brand is more reliable? AC Delco, Remy, Mpa? Will 16203 work on a manual 5 speed transmission?
  20. Ok guide me with the correct part number as replacement starter motor for my 1972 240z with a 5 speed 280z manual transmission. Im posting the picture of the stamped Hitachi code as reference. Apparently here in Panama no one seems to figure out the correct part number.
