  1. Choke cable was not well adjusted only front carb jet went down. Now fixed.
  2. It doesnt even get the toothpick wet at the meaurement shown at 2.5 turns clockwise.
  3. Just hope toothpick doesnt fall in the hole. Ill set it back to 2.5 turns clockwise and measure. If its not there should i bend the tab more?
  4. I can try and measure it with this tool. Dont know if it will fit in that small hole.
  5. No puddling dude with choke all the way back! Both carbs dialed at 3.70 turns clockwise and full choke on
  6. Choke off (lever not pulled) front and rear carb. Cant see fuel level on top of nozzle.
  7. So i crank up the car with the choke knob fully pulled for 1 minute. Turn off the engine, pull out the domes and pistons and verify fuel level?
  8. How do i check for vaccum leaks? Spraying carb cleaner all around the engine and carbs?
  9. So if there is no puddling at 3.70 turns clockwise then i will need to take both floats out and bend the tang more. i thought that with the clear tube pictures above the fuel level was ok.
  10. Let me see if i get this clear. Right now both of the fuel mixture knobs are at 3.70 turns clockwise. You want me to remove the domes and pistons of the SU Carbs and verify if the fuel level is puddling on top of the nozzle? If i ease the choke, meaning closing the choke, the engine runs worse. After 15 minutes of driving slowly i can then speed up and no more sputtering.
  11. You still recommend setting the carbs at 2.5 turns and verifying the 1/16th under the nozzle? If its not there then i should take both floats out and bend the tangs a little bit more. This is how they look the last time i took them out several weeks ago after bending the tang more to reduce the gap.
  12. well i cranked the engine tonight, warmed the engine with the choke lever pulled all the way to the back for 1 minute and advanced the timing from 12 btdc to 14 btdc. Car will still sputter and cough during the first 12 to 15 minutes. Once fully warmed up sputtering and carb intake backfire ceased. Is this still normal? How can i make the car warm up faster and avoid this sputtering during the first 15 mins?
  13. Is this strictly necessary? To have under the carpet?
  14. Anyone knows where can i shop this original cloth that goes under the carpet? This is the original one very deteriorated.
  15. How much time with full choke until driving? Number 6 is 175
  16. Found the compression test done in 2015 here in Panama.
  17. I do have a 30 dollar timing light. Should i advance to 14 btdc?
  18. I read somewhere that for a Schneider 274f cam 12btdc timing is recommended.
  19. I can crank it with no choke but have to lay my foot on the accelerator for a few seconds.
  20. I still have to test the car during traffic jams when the plugs start to foul and the car misfires and tends to stall until you speed up and clear them up.
