  1. Much better but in order to avoid the backfire heard at the carbs i need to drive it slow until the engine warms up.
  2. Not yet. He still says to leave the fuel mixture screws alone once i get the mixture right as i could damage the seals that are on top of the fuel mixture knobs by raising and lowering the jets frequently. Right now i am 3.70
  3. All the way and then push it back until it stopped coughing.
  4. 3.5 to 3.7 turns clockwise. Choke on for 10 to 12 mins until it reaches half the temp gauge. No coughing then.
  5. I also have a spare original nissan oem 170 degrees lying around in the deposit.
  6. Ill try this test today! Is it better if i try it with the air filter on? How much minutes should i drive with the choke knob pulled? Until the temp gauge reaches half?
  7. The temp goes to 3/4 on the temp gauge on traffic.
  8. Its really hard to get a nissan oem 160 degrees thermostat.
  9. 160 degrees thermostat. Stanton brand not original nissan.
  10. Not really. It takes 8 to 10 mins with the choke on.
  11. I guess this is why people decide to use aftermarket individual filters.
  12. Engine cold. 3.5 turns clockwise. Same thing, spitting and coughing when cold. After 10 minutes no more spitting or coughing. Just got home and pull plugs 2, 4 and 5 for your reference. Cranked the engine this morning and cruised the car at the highway. It did cough and spit when cold the first 10 minutes. Anyway after taking the car to 110 miles per hour according to the speedometer the coughing or spitting ceased. Here is a picture of the spark plugs after the highway race.
  13. How do i avoid scratching the engine bay car paint when removing the air filter?
  14. Not fully warmed just 7 to 10 minutes. 5 to 6k rpm Cranked the engine this morning and cruised the car at the highway. It did cough and spit when cold the first 10 minutes. Anyway after taking the car to 110 miles per hour according to the speedometer the coughing or spitting ceased. Here is a picture of the spark plugs after the highway race.
  15. Took the car to the highway and race it at 110 miles per hour according to the speedometer. Some coughing or spitting at the beginnig during the first few minutes and then it cleared up. Really weird. Here are pics of the plugs in the following order : 6 5 4 3 2 1 after racing it
  16. What about cleaning all 6 spark plugs with brass brush?
  17. I have a pertronix ignition coil with ignitor module. Could it be failing in some way?
  18. How??? Putting the hose that is attached to the fuel filter in a glass bottle?
  19. Ok its flow issue. How do i solve this issue? I dont see any kinks on any of the hoses.
  20. It sounds as the carbs are spitting or coughing when cruising over 5k. Sometimes the car even tends to stall but keeps cruising. I even increased the mixture to 4 turns clockwise and it still coughs
  21. Bad news. Sputtering and misfiring started back again even at 3.7 turns clokwise on both front and rear fuel mixture knobs. The car spits as you accelerate at 5 to 6k. Measured the pressure and still 3.2 psi
  22. What is wrong with the brass bushing set sold at amazon? Bad quality?
