  1. Ok ill leave that aside as its correct.
  2. So which size are you using here for a snug fit? This is the fuel rail line that connects to the line that comes from the engine floor. I tried 5 /16 but need to clamp it down very tight.
  3. Not leaking just wondering if sliding a 5/16 hose is the correct measurement.
  4. Thanks. Im keeping the airtex 8012s pump even though it just pushes 3 psi.
  5. Still checking. By the way i would like to know if a 5/16 inch is the right hose to connect to the fuel rail that goes to the carbs???? Its not a snug as tight at is should be but at least its not dripping any fuel after i tight it with a precision clamp.
  6. Number 4 spark plug always gets darker than the rest of the plugs. Very strange
  7. Have you ever measured the pressure of your Carter P4070 Electric pump before the carbs? How much pressure?
  8. Maybe ill need to pay a plane ticket to one of the experts in the us to see if they can get it running correctly at high rpm and under heavy traffic at idle.
  9. Thanks for your assumption. You are fully correct. 4 years of having purchased the car and still does not run as it needs to.
  10. Ill have to lower it more car is still backfiring and sputtering under 4 turns clockwise. I really dont trust to pressure of this airtex 8012sx fuel pump. In the past when i the pressure was 4.3 psi the fuel filter was always full even after the engine was shut down.
  11. 2.5 turns clockwise front and rear carb after cranking and running the engine for 1 min. I dont see no 1/16 inches of gas? Do you see it
  12. How do you measure this 1/16 inch below the nozzle? Digital caliper or else?
  13. My reasoning is that if i have to turn the mixture knobs 4 turns clockwise when it was supposed to be 2.5 - 3 turns clockwise, the tang needs to be pushed a little bit more and the gap will be less than .55 inches.
  14. OK. In conclusión the .55 inch or 9/16 method is crap. THe same applies to the plastic tube fastened to the drain plug. I wouldnt like to bend the tab so much as the fuel overflows from the air vent of the carb float lid.
  15. what do you mean by low? it is set as post # 213. You mean lower than the 9/16 or .55 inch by bending the tang a Little more? smaller gap??
  16. So i should start by closing the fuel mixture knob from 4 turns to 2.5 turns clockwise, crank the engine for 1 minute with the choke on as the car is cold and remove the domes and pistons. If i dont see the 1/16" below the nozzle top then the floats are still not set to 9/16 or .55 inches? do i measure this with the digital caliper? At least i know we are getting close. My mechanic advise me on not touching the float levels any longer and drive the car at 4 turns clockwise as it was set. I just dont feel it should be this way. Please advise me.
  17. I guess ill have to double check with the 1/16 above the nozzle method a 2.5 turns. I already adjusted both floats at 9/16 and have the turn both carbs ton4 turns clockwise to get the car running fine. Plugs still look lean to me. Can you explain this 1/16 above the nozzle method at 2.5 turns method better?
  18. Managed to clear up but at 4 turns clockwise. Shouldnt this happen at 2.75 to 3 turns clockwise?
  19. I am dumping the rest of the kit. I just bought it for the needle and seats which i hope are of good quality. Anyway the car is still too lean at 3 turns clockwise. Engine starts responding better at 3.5 turns each carb. However i did noticed that if leave it warming up for more than 20 minutes number 4 spark plug starts to foul and causes a misfire when reving. I have cleaned all plugs and will test again.
  20. At 2.5 with the engine warmed up it stalls. Engine needs at least 3 turns clockwise and still appears lean. At 3.5 turns it tends to get better. Just remember my engine is not stock, it was rebuilt with oversize pistons and overhauled to 2.6Liters. Asides from that it has a Schneider 274F camshaft. I also receive a new set of needle valve and seats from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Walker-Products-15568-Carburetor-Kit/dp/B000CLSRR0 https://www.amazon.com/Walker-Products-15567-Carburetor-Kit/dp/B000CLN1XK How can i determine if the actual needle and seats need to be changed or not? Could one of them be damaged?
  21. My floats are already set. I was just wondering if the fuel pump was correctly routed.
  22. Do you think the hoses are correctly connected and routed allowing free pressure and volume flow?
  23. Finally set accordingly. Ready to drive the car and report back
