  1. Are the MSA 3 point retractable seat belts considered a perfect bolt in replacement for my original and worn seat belts used on my 1972 240z? Once i install these seat belts will i still be able to use the receiver of the original seat belt? Still trying to figure out how to actívate the seat belt light on the dashboard!
  2. I had to fully remove my stock manifold in order to replace the 3 studs that bolt to the downpipe of the MSA Exhaust kit. Anyhow, I was wondering if replacing this stock manifold with a ceramic coated header will solve my fuel percolation issues? How much difference in temperature between the stock manifold and the ceramic coat headers? Any pros and cons? How about issues during traffic jams? http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic19c/15-6012CH This one looks amazing! Maybe it could radiate less heat than the stock manifold. Any cons???
  3. Just removed it yesterday without braking any nuts. I really want to know what was the main purpose of this part in the block.
  4. While trying to extract the broken stud the extracting tool broke and now my mechanic has to remover the manifold completely. We have noticed that 3 years ago when the air galley was removed the former mechanics did not removed the guides and just installed new bronze bolts to cover the holes. Ill take pictures of them and will post them for your opinion
  5. checked my fuel pressure last time and it measured 3.5 psi! No vaccuum leaks anywhere!
  6. Did you removed it? please explain the purpose and name of such part! why was it originally connected to the airbox filter?
  7. Have other users removed it? it looks ugly by the way! Whats the name of that metal tube? I hope it does not affect the choke time at the moment starting the car. What i mean is that the car will need more choke time to warm up once i remove this metal tube!
  8. while performing the tuning of my su carbs i noticed a black metal tube that goes underneath and between both carbs. I believe this metal tube was originally connected to one of the down exits of the air filter orange box. Is it worth removing or is it doing something there? Could it be a source of heat transmission and add up to the heat soak problem during traffic jams? I see the black paint is peeled and does not look good!
  9. It didnt came with instructions. I guess the side facing the manifold is the one that should be covered. Please be advised that besides these 2 heat shields i have the original stock heat shield covering the center of the manifold. THis guy manufactured my heat shield extensions!! He has great ideas:
  10. Mark, Just got the Thermo-tec Heat barrier adhesive: https://www.amazon.com/Thermo-Tec-13575-Adhesive-Backed-Barrier/dp/B00029KC2K Do you recomend just pasting it on the side of the heat shield extensions that faces the manifold? or should i also paste it on the side that faces the SU CARB fuel bowls? Please advise! I am removing the heat shield extensions today to paste the heat barrier.
  11. My 1972 240z has a Schneider 274F cam and pertronix 1761 ignitor module and coil. Should i use NGK BP5ES or BP6ES? to avoid carbón fouling at idle during traffic jams? or a hotter spark plug will still get fouled under fuel percolation situations?
  12. how does it work? Just remove the bolt at the front of the float bowl???
  13. The zx cooling fan just arrived i need to wire it and install it. Ill let you know thw results. I am also attaching the description of my engine. I dont think there is anything wrong with it. I replaced the far 311 race cam with a schneider 274f including new rocker arms and springs.
  14. Mark, I think you can really help me at this. Asides from installing the recently purchased 280zx injector cooling, should i purchase the mechanical pump and install it back again? My new exhaust is an MSA PREMIUM EXHAUST FOR STOCK MANIFOLD: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/15-6302 I am also considering pasting a layer of thermotec to both of the stainless Steel heat shield extensions: https://www.amazon.com/Thermo-Tec-13575-Adhesive-Backed-Barrier/dp/B00029KC2K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1495143830&sr=8-2&keywords=thermotec Will it really help getting that manifold heat out of the way this avoiding fuel percolation at the fuel bowls?
  15. Well i thought that since ztherapy announced it in their site they could sell me one.
  16. Anyone has a fully functional reburbished Hitachi sigle point distributor i may use with the pertronix ignitor kit willing to sell? Advance must be working!
  17. just got in touch with Bruce and order the damn tool! I dont want to mess with anything inside!
  18. how do you use it? Im calling Bruce at Ztherapy to make an order but cant find him!
  19. Any easy method of checking the fuel level in the float bowls of 3 screws round top SU CARBS? My car runs great at high speed but at idle it does not perform correctly.
  20. i already order a three set stud with nuts from zcardepot on ebay. Wish i could get a stainless Steel set or something that could hold up more heat. I also ordered a new Felpro Manifold to Downpipe gasket. Yesterday i checked for leaks on the other unions of the pipes and did not found anything. Car keeps popping on exhaust. Trying to get used to it! The MSA PREMIUM EXHAUST Kit came with an Xcelerator Turbo Muffler: http://www.apexhaust.com/product/automotive-light-truck/muffler/xlerator-big-max-turbo-mufflers/
  21. I guess my leak is still at the manifold to downpipe union. Today i found a very rustes broken stud and my mechanics rachet tool attached to it. Should i consider buying the set of three studs and nuts? Maybe a better quality?
  22. Anyone knows if the water and soap spraying or the hose and funnel method works to find exhaust leaks at the manifold to downpipe union? I replaced this gasket with felpro gasket and still get popping at exhaust on deceleration with the msa premium exhaust stock manifold kit
