  1. is it adjustable?? Meaning i can lower the pressure from 4 to 3.5 psi? Looks desirable! Just want a pump that does not require an additional regulator! I have the one shown Airtex 8012S which advertises as 5 to 9 psi! and do not use a regulator! However when stuck on heavy traffic the car starts to stumble, erratic idle and then bad acceleration, so i have to clean the spark plugs each time i get home as they get black!
  2. Was the stock antenna manual? Isnt there a manual reproduction. I wouldnt like to be hearing a CD or USB with the antenna all the way up if electrical!
  3. You are all right! they came with their badges!! no need to purchase new ones! thanks!
  4. Just sent them an e-mail. No response yet!
  5. i bought one from vintagerubber.com and the shop cannot seem to find a way to install it! I guess they are just plain dumb!! I dont think vintage rubber sent me a wrong rear hatch weatherstrip for my 1972 240z
  6. THe paint shop i hired to restore my car with 904 White PPG paint did a great job. However there are still some issues that were not solved such as: 1. They cannot fit the front bumper guards in the new front bumper i bought! Really weird. I have attached pictures of the bumper without the guards. I bought this bumper on EBay and was shipped from Canada. Shop argues there is some slight difference between the original front bumper and this one and that there is not enough clearance between the bumper guards and the front Hood. if the Hood is opened it touches the bumper guards. 2. Passenger and Driver doors do not close smoothly. You have to throw the doors with some pressure for both of them to close. All my rubber seals where bought from http://www.vintagerubber.com/240z.aspx 3. They argue that the inner hatch seal does not fit correctly around the hatch. 4. Some of the trunk plugs are missing. where do i get them? What size are they?
  7. Dennis, Got pissed and took the car back to the paintshop! They should solve this issue not me! They told me Kerosene could probably take the paint stain off! this dash has some cracks but i guess they could be fixed by some expert! The stain must be removed!!
  8. Ill try that method! Just hope i dont get anything lost on the way!
  9. i tried varsol and it does not work! maybe some thinner? my dashboard has some dings and a crack!
  10. i dont want to deal any longer with the paint shop! they charged me US$4,750 pluse US$700 in paint and materials to restore and paint the car! It took then 4 months to accomplish this! Im done with them! wanna fix it by my own! Ill keep using armor all!
  11. First of all, does anyone know the correct and prompt procedure to remove the ammeter / fuel gauge from a 240z dash? the plastic glass on mine came out and the ammeter is not working. How to i remove it from the dash without taking the full dash off and how do i test / repair the ammeter gauge? The fuel gauge is working fine. Anyone?
  12. Just got my car back from the paintshop and noticed that even though they covered the dashboard during the paint procedure, my car got really dusted and i found some tracer of spray paint on top of the dashboard! Anyone knows of any product that can help me remove the paint without damaging the dashboard of my 72 240z? in the picture shown you can notice that there was a tape that covered one space the rest is sprayed. Thinner or varsol????
  13. Thanks gnosez! Ill order one and forget about the Mallory COMP 4070!
  14. Car is back in commission from paint shop. Still undecided if i should purchase a 3 - 4 psi electric fuel pressure or use my current 5 to 9 PSI Airtex 8012S electric fuel pump with an Holley external regulator. I read the Mallory COMP 4070LP did the job and was adjustable by its own but they seem hard to find. Any recommendations for an adjustable and reliable electric pump?
  15. Wow so expensive? I was just looking for an electric pump that could be dialed between 3.4 to 4 psi without the use of a regulator other than the AIrtex 8012S which is rated 5 to 9 psi and will require a regulator near the carbs. Anyone????
  16. Where do i get this MALLORY 4070LP electric pump?? being searching on the net and its not available at JEGS or at SUMMIT RACING!
  17. well when the paint shop dismantled the car for painting they found that the antenna was manual and not electric! car was manufactured on January 1972 (01/72)
  18. Well i have a 1972 240z that presents the exact problem while sitting on heavy traffic, plugs get black and acceleration is not fluid. I still have not been able to solve it. However, this guy on YouTube offers the following solution: He even send me the heat shield and did not charge me anything. I will try this after i get my car out of the paintshop! Does anyone concur??
  19. I am uncertain if my Datsun 1972 240z (Made in January 1972) used a Manual or Electric Antenna? Can someone clear this out? I do have the following antenna still unwrapped and would like to know if i should just setlle with the OEM manual antenna as i would not like to be driving with the antenna up while hearing CDS or music through the USB port: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Power-Antenna-Kit-1970-thru-1973-for-Datsun-240Z-AM-FM-Car-Radio-/181565640752?hash=item2a4627d030:g:ZOAAAOSwnDZUIJ-k&vxp=mtr Anyone???
  20. I need to replace all the red vinyl headliner, transmission tunnel and rest of the interior inside my 1972 240z once the painting is finished. The shop already replaced both floors, cleaned all the metal under and over, sprayed a layer of POR-15, Lizard Skin on top and car paint. Its now ready for the interior. Will this kit suffice: http://www.zcarsource.com/interior-vinyl-trim-kit-deluxe-240z-70-73-red-new_8_77916_197191.html Or should i buy some additional parts. I am still thinking on using the old jute material or not.
  21. I have already purchased the front badge emblem, the 2 Fender emblems and the hatch 240z and Datsun emblem Brand new. Do i still need to get the receivers that secure the emblems from falling? I think they are called barrel nuts: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Barrel-Nuts-Qty-25-Fits-1-4-Stud-9-32-Hole-Trim-Emblem-Molding-015-/322144129293?hash=item4b0149510d:g:HXMAAOSwLnBXWaKn&vxp=mtr
  22. I also own a 1972 240z and during the process of removing the parts to get it paint, i discovered that it carried a manual antenna? Did this year came with manual or electric antenna? i bought the following electric antenna on eBay and was wondering if it will work or not? Or should i reinstall the manual one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-1970-83-240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-Radio-Power-Antenna-12V-NEW-089-/331881979964?fits=Make%3ADatsun|Model%3A240Z&hash=item4d45b5203c:g:SwgAAOxyOlhS-87Q&vxp=mtr Please advise properly!
