  1. I know about this but i still want to get an electrical solenoid to raise the idle when the ac compressor is on! Any recommendations?
  2. Anyone knows of any generic idle stop solenoid that can be used to boost the RPMS when the compressor of the Air Conditioner is activated? I sent an e-mail to carb junkies but they told me their parts will not work with a Datsun 240z! Anyone?
  3. AC is installed and working without the servo diaphgram connected! It still drops down 200 rpm if i turn the AC on! Mechanic says that besides the Thottle control valve and servo diaphgram, i still need an electrical solenoid to boost the RPMS when the AC is switched on! Where do i purchase this part and how is it connected all together?
  4. Strangely the problem dissapear and the light went out completely after a hard acceleration at the highway!
  5. I left my car at idle for 30 minutes the other day while testing the horn button, got the plugs fouled and car tended to stall. Pulled out all plugs and found all the spark plugs were carbón fouled and closed at less than .020. Replace all plugs with Brand new NGK BP6ES gapped at .031, took the car for a ride but noticed some hesitation again at low rpms. Could the carburetors pistons be dirty due to the long idling and hence i will need to open them and clean the domes with Carb Cleaner? I am using ATM red fluid as damper oil! I also found out the timing is at 19 BTDC!
  6. No other posible way of cleaning this assembly?? Its getting hard to find one!
  7. I cleaned the female bullet connector and the male in the assembly switch, plugged it back again, got inside the car and reléase the emergency brake. The result was the same, the red brake line in the speedometer showed up very dim as in the picture. If i unplug the female bullet connector and reléase the emergency brake, the light is completely gone. I do not think it is a corroded contact on the e-brake switch. WIth these facts do you still confirm it is an internal problem of the assembly swith blade indicator???
  8. Thanks Chickenman, Just found one in a hardware shop same size but different head. It does the job!!!
  9. Thanks! What about doing a complete flush and wash of the radiator? Its a 3 row radiator purchased by PO on 2011!
  10. My mechanic adjusted the TIme to 18BTDC at idle maybe it should be lowered to 12 or 10 BTDC at dile and it will supress the deceleration backfire. I am trusting that the distributor timing marks aligned correctly and thus can draw such measurements! Any advice?
  11. Havent checked again but the oil pressure gauge moves to the center when i speed the car on the highway! Could it be damaged also?
  12. masking tape? will this make the lever fatter and thus avoid the choke knob from falling when lifted or pushed?
  13. Suppose i decide to purchase a high quality fan clutch for my car as a replacement which Brand is the best and long lasting? I read Nissan is not making them any longer!!! Looking for Japanese OEM replacement only!
  14. Does anyone know the exact screw size and type for the 1972 240z Choke Knob??? Mine is worn and cannot manage to fasten the knob to the lever! Any alternatives other than silicone or any kind of glue!
  15. it doesnt even make one full turn! real tight! it just moves 2 blades!
  16. Well i think i can live with it! Unless i can find a replacement! Thanks for you kind advice! I guess many owners could have the same problem!
  17. okay! i followed your instructions remover the connector from the brake line. Got inside the car and the brake light is on when the e-brake is pulled. If released, the brake light dissapears completely. I decided to clean the connector with contact cleaner and brass wire brush then tightned the connector with a pair of pliers but after connecting it back and testing the e-brake light stills dims when the ebrake is off. What could be the cause of this?
  18. Can you point out directly where should i check or disconnect? I have taken some pictures of the master cylinder. Fluids seem right!
  19. Im sorry to hear that. My garage does not have a door so i dont think i will die of carbón monoxide. Anyway im still trying to decide if i should purchase a fan clutch or not! Imagine you were in a traffic jam with the ac on?? I did installed an electric fan in front of the condenser.
  20. While trying to sort out a problem with the horn switch i left my 72 240z at idle in my garage. Results: Temperature climbed more than 3/4, car tended to stall and Rpm dropped to 400 and rised back to 1000 rpm, Havent checked the spark plugs but i can believe they are black. Could the fan clutch need replacement? This should not happen! Imagine you were stuck on a traffic jam for more than 20 minutes????? This is serious issue!
  21. The instrument brake light dims a litlle bit when i take the brake off the car! It does it with the vehicle´s headlights lights on or off! What could be the cause of this and where should i check to get this sorted out! I have already connected and disconnected the turn signal switch for any loose connection but it has no effect. Any recommendations? The bulb is a red led bulb!
  22. I think it would be better if we just set forward a complete list of the seals for both doors! I thought the Vintage Rubber complete kit contained all but its still missing some additional seals.
  23. What could be the worse scenario? the exhaust valve on the 4th cylinder should be adjusted to .010. If the Porsche mechanic ajusted it to .013 so there could be a change in idle when the spark plug cable is removed and the car ran in 6 cylinders, will the engine suffer any damage? Just took the car for a ride, some backfire on deceleration after releasing the gas pedal. Once at the garage, i pulled out the plugs 4, 5, and 6 and number 4 is getting a Little bit red on the White element. Any opinions?
