  1. I was advised it was the best solution and it really cooled the cabin. Now i am in a crossroads and dont really know what to do!
  2. to be specific i want to know if i can keep the original heater control panel and heater box, leaving it intact and install the vintage air gen ii mini evaporator which will be operated with the above pictured controls.
  3. I really do not want to deal with opening any holes or damaging the heater control panel. I just want to find the best location and way to install the following pod controls: http://www.summitrac...0-rha/overview/ Please advise!!!
  4. Thanks ZKars. I would need to find a solution without damaging the stock heater control panel.
  5. Just ordered a Vintage Air Gen II mini rotary control pod to actívate a Gen II mini evaporator and Sanden 508 Compressor: http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/vta-49200-rha/overview/ I would like to know the following: 1. Where exactly is the best location to install this control pod under the dash? 2. How do i install it? It seems its made of plastic so i must fine a way to secure it to the plastic dashboard also. Anyone has done this installation?
  6. where exactly in the dashboard do i fix it? will i need to drill any holes to the dashboard? both these controls and the dashboard are made of plastic! which is the most appropiate way to secure these controls? any pictures?
  7. Djwarner, I have read a lot of opinions on using the original heater panel controls to actívate the AC evaporator and compressor and it seems that it was not designed to actívate any ac evaporator and compressor system. However there is an under dash option which picture i have attached here: Vintage Air 49200-RHA Gen II Under Dash Control Panel. Do you think this is the way to go and forget about doing any modification to the panel?
  8. Well i guess i will only be able to use the controls provided by Vintage Air for the Gen II mini evaporator. I really do not want to alter the Heater control panel what options are there left for me? Any pictures of conversions done by someone in this fórum?
  9. Well this does not answer my Question! I was thinking on purchasing this ARA control module to control the Vintage Gen Air II mini evaporator and Sanden Compressor. If you think this will not work, i will need to source for another controller.
  10. What if i use the ARA air conditioner kit controller? Will it work with a Vintage Air Gen II mini kit and Sanden 508 compressor and hence i wont have to modify the heater control panel?
  11. PSDENNO, What additional controls will i need to turn on the AC compressor and dial its blowing speed? WIll the A R A controls match with a Vintage air gen ii mini kit and sanden 508 compressor? http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/vta-66005-vuz-a/overview/
  12. Which one? Ay pictures? i bought the Vintage Air Gen-II Base Model 4-Lever Controls 49110-SHQ http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/vta-49110-shq and a Rotary potentiometer with its knob!!! Will these controls i purchased work for the heater control panel ac conversión?
  13. well i will need to follow your advice and not what my friend did as per the pictures attached? it seems he deleted the heater system and installed the compressor to evaporator hoses through the heater hoses. Do you conclude his installation is not correct? i am trying to find pictures of someone who was a full installation as you point out but havent had any luck.
  14. Patcon, i have already bought the Vintage Air Gen II evaporator, Sanden 508 compressor, and stock compressor bracket. I have several questions related to this matter: 1. If i do not want to drill extra holes could i use the firewall holes where the heater hoses go out? 2. Where do i get this dealer added small pod which is screwed to the driver side of the center console? So there is no way to modify the stock fan controls to opérate as AC? 3. Will i be okay using the servo diaphgram and throttle opener valve? or should i strive for something different?
  15. One of my friends has a 1973 240z with AC installed. I took some pictures and he has no servo diaphgram and throttle opener valve to compensate. I also want to be able to use the dash controls to turn the compressor on and adjust the blower speed. Could this be posible? Are the compressor hoses installed correctly? meaning i will have to remove the heater hoses to get through the firewall and in the evaporator as shown:
  16. i am almost ready but still need to know which controls you purchased to accomplish this modification? Which supplier? I really want to be able to use the stock controls and not open any additional holes to the dashboard. Please advise!
  17. Does anyone have photos on how they install a Vintage Air Gen II mini kit with Sanden 508 Compressor to their 240z? I would like to keep it as stock as posible. I guess i wont need the original blower fan which is located under the dashboard at the passenger´s side. Photos will really help!!!
  18. What about any additional seal or bumper that goes at the floor inside of the door?
  19. I have almost all the seals and gaskets needed before painting my 240z. I bought the complete basic kit sold by Vintage Rubber. However, both of my doors rattle and i would like information on all the inner seals and / or gaskets or bumper seals. Any diagram describing each of the seals will be helpful. http://www.vintagerubber.com/datsun240zbasicsealkit-3.aspx Can i get these other seals from black dragon?? I want each and every inner doors seals.
  20. Perfect! Is the spray color flat black or semi gloss black??? Di you use a paint remover? or just sandpaper? if so what type?
  21. I do not have a sandblasting machine! I was planing on using a wire brush. Do you recommend any home non industrial sand blasting machine as the ones sold by amazon? http://www.amazon.com/Campbell-Hausfeld-30-Pound-Capacity-Sandblaster/dp/B0000DD1C4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1439999682&sr=8-1&keywords=home+sandblaster
  22. Just took my car to the mechanic on saturday and lifted it on the elevator. Mechanic noticed one of the bushings of the left rear control arm was not installed properly and looks as it is bitten. Do i need to replace only the lower control arm bushing forward and rear? http://www.zcarsource.com/rearsusp-diagram.HTML Please advise as i do not want to purchase the wrong bushings! I have already replaced all the bushings contained in the Energy Suspension 7.18101R Hyperflex Master Kit for Datsun 240Z. Maybe the former mechanic istalled this one too tight! I am also thinking on sandblasting and painting these arms. If so what color and what is the correct procedure?
