My 1972 240z is ready to install an AC System. I already bought the GEN Mini evaporator and Sanden 508 compressor. I have seen cars that have a Fast Idle Control Device. As mine never brought it from Factory, is it necessary to get one? If so where can i purchase this part? I am also afraid that my car engine can get heated with the ac on in traffic jams. Should i install a fan shroud to my champion 2 row race radiator?

Okay i think i am ready to install an AC System to my 1972 240z but still need to get the correct parts including this Fast Idle Control Valve as my car did not came with an AC System installed. Where can i get one of this? What other parts will i need to avoid overheating in traffic jams?

Okay just logged in to superbrightleds website. Just found the culprit! The spark plugs were worn. I installed a set of NGK BP6ES, tuned both carbs setting the idle mixture to 2.75 turns clockwise and now the car does not hesitate or causes any backfire.

Just manage to follow all the steps to tune my 1972 240z su carburetors including setting the idle mixture knobs 2 turns clockwise and balancing both carbs with fast idle screw to 3,000 RPM. I took the car for a spin and noticed that she hesitates when reaching 4,000 RPM in 1st gear. Could it be running lean? Should i turn the idle mixture knob to 2.5 turns? Please advise what should i do to eliminate this hesitation.

So you do not recommend this electric fuel pump? I read good reviews on it!

This morning i started the engine of my 240z and pull the choke to 2,500 RPM in order to warm it up for 3 minutes. Once warmed up i released it and check on the engine for any leaks. I discovered a very small leak on one of the ends of the fuel filter. Just a small leak and the filter is full. Could this be normal and i am in danger of causing a fire in the engine? Please advise how to solve this issue, i tried tightnening the screws that hold the hoses but it does not move any further. Thanks,

I already ordered a Kit from him!! The guy is the best!! His responses are fast and accurate. However there are some connectors made by Hitachi that i still need to source. It would be great if someone can make a list of all the connectors that came with a 1972 240Z?

My car has been running fine since i finally managed to adjust both round top 3 screws su carbs. However, i do sometimes noticed that if i suddenly bump with the choke lever in the console, the yellow lights comes up. I decided then to move the lever up and down to see what happens. WRONGGGGG!!!! Now the cable got worse, the lever wont go up all the way as it did before and if i start the car its too cold. I tried tightening the screw in the console but it did nothing. Should i take the air filter out and unscrew both cables fastened at each of the carbs to see if it releases the pressure and goes back? I have never adjusted these choke cables before, i have left this issue always to my mechanic. Can someone guide me in the correct direction to solve this problem by myself without trying to get a mechanic tomorrow saturday? I know i shouldnt have played with the lever but now its too late and i need to get this sorted out.

Thanks to all of you in this great fórum, i finally tuned my car properly and have no backfire. I reviewed both, your notes and the JUST SU Video. I did noticed that if i parked the car and returned after say 20 minutes, it takes a couple of seconds for the car to reach to 1,100 RPM which is my goal. Maybe this could be normal! I adjusted the mixture knobs to 2.5 turns. Have a Happy New Year!!!!

Can you explain the balance mixture screw dialing process a Little bit more? I have read that before you start tuning the carbs you should unscrew it all the way out? Is this true? if i start screwing it in the rear carburetor rpm increases.

I already watched the Just SU DVD and still have some queries on how to tune both Hitachi SU Carbs on my 240z. The procedure i am following is: 1. Remove air cleaner box 2. Verify each piston moves freely 3. rotate both idle mixture knob until it seat counterclockwise 4. rotate both idle mixture knob 2 full turns clockwise. 5. Crank the engine with the choke on for 3 minutes until it warms up 6. fully unscrew the fast idle screw 7. fully unscrew the balance mixture screw which is besides the rear carburetor 8. set the rear and front carburetor at 800 RPM using the idle screw on each carburetor and measure with the unysis that the ball is raising to the middle in both carbs. 9. How do i dial in the balance mixture screw and when? Is there is something i am missing here? The car seems to be stumbling a Little bit and if i go over 7000 RPM the front carburetor is farting.

Are there any other options to purchase all the rubber seals for my 1972 240z other than www.vintagerubber.com? I already purchased both driver and passenger door seals from them. I am looking for high quality seals but their prices seem very steep. Any recommendation of OEM Nissan seals?

Which model and Brand of leds will last longer and illuminate better on all the gauges of the instrument panel? I recently purchased a 274F Datsun L-6 Cam shaft 107 degrees carbureted with .175 thick lash pads for a 1972 Datsun 240z from Schneider Cams. Anyway they dont sell the rocker arms to be used with this cam shaft. Can someone recommend a rocker arm set that will fit perfectly with this set up and point out a good source for it? Thanks!!

Thanks Sean, What else would you recommend replacing besides the window rollers and door window cannel seals on both doors? I just want to make one sole order.

My 240z presents some window rattling on the driver´s door when i drive. If you close the door with the window fully down it sounds as if the window will fall. What could be missing? Any kit that sells all the inner seals, Windows felt, etc?

Who sells Original Mazda RX7 electric fuel pumps? OEM?? or any Brand should be okay?
