  1. 6.89 k spark plug 5 7.17k spark plug 4 5.83k spark plug 3
  2. Look at this fórum, this user has a similar problem. Mine is not oil related as the spark plugs look sooty matte black and not oily: https://www.zcar.com/forum/10-70-83-tech-discussion-forum/268092-spark-plug-fouling.html
  3. Mark, Ill follow your advice and do the resistance test with my Digital Multimeter. I also have a set of old NGK Blue spark plugs which i can test. I called my mechanic today and he argues that if the seals should be good or else the engine would present problems at high rpms. He doesnt see any oil on those plugs, more gasoline. Weird!
  4. I only replaced the camshaft with a schneider 274f and new rocker arms. The timing is set to 14btdc.
  5. I have a multimeter and can measure the resistance with it. I will need to place the spark plug inside the boot or otherwise the lead wont reach the terminal.
  6. Mark, What would you recommend now that i did the test?
  7. Thats correct. 3 and 4 are sooty not oily.
  8. Now what? Tear all the block down? I know for certain that if drive the car the fouling goes away.
  9. Just tested with ngk bp6es brand new plugs at 1200 rpm idle for 20 minutes in parking lot. 3 and 4 are fouled. Already tightened connectors.
  10. Im setting it to 1100 rpm. At least that is what it reads on the tachometer.
  11. Ok. Ill start with a brand new set of 6 gapped at .032 and leave it idling at the parking lot for 20 mins. Ill dump the other ones. I set the rpm to 1100.
  12. I will do the test again from scratch in one hour. I will leave the car idling with those old plugs at the parking lot for 15 mins and will then pull the plugs out.
  13. I guess i will need to hire one of you to come to Panama and solve this problem. How come i cant drive my car on traffic as i have to struggle to avoid spark plug fouling on cyl 3 and 4 which eventually leads to misfiring and lumpy idle.
  14. Well then i would need to close the terminals inside the spark plug boot with a pair of long nose pliers and open them at the other end where they are fasten to the distributor cap. Anyway i bought a new set of spark plugs which will be gapped to .032
  15. Should i get a pair of pliers and tighten those plug terminals?
  16. Maybe i should just buy a new set of plugs, gap them at .032 and let it idle for 15 to 20 mins. That way we know all the plugs are good.
  17. Just guide me on this. Do you recommend to race the car for 20 to 25 minutes and then leave it to idle for 10 to 15 minutes with the hood closed? Your assumption is correct. It idles okay for the first few minutes and then it starts getting sloppy tending to fail. I guess i will need to pay you to fix my car as all the mechanics that have diagnosed the engine just ask me to change this, buy that, get a msd ignition, remove the fan clutch and get electric fans, etc.
  18. Should i buy a set of brand new spark plugs before doing the test?
  19. I checked the choke cables and they did not leave the jets down when pushed back once the engine got warm. I crank the engine and left the car to idle at the parking lot for 10 to 12 mins. Pulled spark plug 3, 4 and 5. 3 and 4 were fouled 5 (first picture) was clean. Maybe i should run the car for 20 to 25 minutes and then leave it to idle. Do you agree?
  20. The idle did drop and got rough during those 10 minutes even with the hood wide opened on direct sunlight
  21. Mark, This is what my engine has inside with the exception of the far 311 camshaft. I replaced with a schneider 274f camshaft
  22. Just remember i already cleaned those fouled plugs with carb cleaner.
  23. Okay. We know that the compression is good and the cap and rotor are also new. So what remains? Should i clean all the 6 plugs and cranked the car leaving it to idle for 20 mins to see if those plug foul to black?
  24. i already cleaned both plugs with a brass brush and carb cleaner. I will need to leave it at idle again to see what happens.
