I will look tomorrow to see if there is corrosian. I got the car as a project there has been a lot of aftermarket modifications done to it. the problem has always been there. My mechanic friend wrapped a fuse in tin foil just to test it we don't leave it in but the turn signal does work that way. Also the guy told me I needed to hook up the lights. I'm not sure why they were disconnected in the first place but they were. Anyways when I got the car the head lights worked everything worked except the turn signal. So I'm puzzled. I have a Chilton repair manual also. I wanted to see where the lights hook up but I'm not exactly sure where that is if you know that would be great.

I have a 1981 280zx turbo I have had electrical problem since I got it I've posted a separate thread about this but nobody really knows the turn signal fuse blows instantly the dash has. Been messes with someone put a terminal strip in but I don't think that's the problem all the wiring from the rear lights up to the dash is intact and has not been messed with so that's good. But when I have key in and on position the fuse blows instantly and when its in and not in on position it gets very hot but when we unplug turn signal switch it doesn't get hot or blow I am so sick of this problem I wanna fix it please I need someone's help and if there is anybody in the Wisconsin area that knows zs we could work something out to help me please any comments will help

I have an 81 280zx turbo and was wondering where the brains are I got the car with aftermarket seats I recently pulled them and all the carpet out there is a metal box under each seat I was wondering what those are are they the brains ? Or did the 81 zxt have electric seats are they motors let me know please

I don't leave it like that just for a quick second to test it the car isn't drivable at the moment do to other problems but I've been trying to fix this turn signal problem since I got the car

Sorry about not giving enough information. So here it goes I got the car in July. the dash wiring was a mess it was hacked up. One of the previous owners tried to but after market gauges in I've pulled all the carpet out the wiring from back until you get to the dash was not messed with the fuse problem has always been there they told me I needed to hook the lights. up but head & tail lights work my hazards work fine and when we put a blown fuse wrapped in tin foil in the holder the turn signals work then and i think its when you flip the switch in either direction it blows and there is a terminal strip by the steering column for extra power we've eliminated most of the mess by pulling those gauges out. Do you mean the bulbs in the rear in the harness ?

Recently I have noticed a puddle underneath my z in the garage I haven't really examined it yet but it is a red substance is that anti freeze ? And now that I think about it its right below the radiator its been very cold here in Wisconsin today it was -18" could the cold weather have caused my radiator to crack could it be a line ? the car hasn't been started since before thanksgiving its just been sitting while I've been trying to fix other issues its an 81 280zxt there is a lot of after market stuff under the hood from previous owner such as cold air intake electric fan so I'm not sure if the radiator was replaced or not I'm sure it was at some point but I guess I just wanted someone's opinion on what could have happened it was originally a Cali car it came down here 2 or so years ago I think? Any help would be great thanks.

I have a 81 280zxt My flasher fuse keeps blowing as soon as I touch fuse to holder POP!!! Instantly blows my mechanic friend unplugged the turn signal switch it doesn't blow the fuse in there is fine any input/help please & thanks
