  1. View Advert SK Racing Triple Carb Setup i ended up selling my datsun and don’t plan on buying another for awhile since i’m going to be transitioning to another career and having another child. so i need to get rid of these. It’s a triple SK racing carb setup , probably needs to be gone through since they haven’t been on a vehicle for quite some time. Not sure exactly what size they are and there’s no imprints on the top showing so. I’m open to offers on them but i’ll put a price of $1750 on them . 3. to adjust the distributor soon as i loosened it snapped. ill have to try and find a new one or get the bolt out somehow. i saw on ebay they’re about $100 for one. I still haven’t had the time to find out the TDC either
  4. it’s the portion that mounts to the block i’m pretty sure it’s the pedestal . i think i can get one for less then $100 . i tried to extract the bolt but won’t come out all the way. crappy thing is i don’t think there’s any datsun mechanics near me but maybe some shop nearby will know their stuff
  5. well now ill need a distributor housing base since i tried to loosen it and one of the bolt heads snapped off . i might just end up taking it somewhere and having them fix it. i don’t have much time anymore to work on it myself . so frustrating feel i made it worse with the pertronix
  6. also what’s the best way to rotate it to TDC
  7. might be a fairly dumb question but this is my first time doing the timing on anything. with a digital timing light do i need to mark it still or can i let the vehicle warm up and then use the light and just adjust it off the digital ?
  8. thank you i’m going to order a timing light today and give it a go on friday . Appreciate all the help
  9. just an update on it. i returned the pertronix and got a new one installed it and it started up . It does run rough though so i’m guessing the timing is off now? Im pretty new to doing this now what’s an easy way for me to set the timing properly if i’ve never done it ?
  10. ok just making sure , yes it was running prior . i’m gonna take out the pertronix and test it but it looks like it might’ve got burnt up. So the two wires that were near the distributor that run back and the one connecting with the red and black i can get rid of them and set them aside as i shouldn’t need them for the pertronix correct ?
  11. im guessing theres a decent chance it’s the pertronix itself? i took the cap and rotor off and it smells kind of burnt . or could the timing be off so bad it won’t start?
  12. yeah i know it’s a mess now i was gonna make it sure it started up fine before making it look all nice. I tried starting it up again after ensuring the correct black/white on positive and the green/white with black/white jumper. it just cranks and cranks won’t start at all so i’m not sure what to do now
  13. that’s good to know but no it’s a manual transmission . so should i just tape those off then? yes i put the red pertronix on positive , black on neg. used a multimeter to see which black/white goes on positive and the one that did nothing i made a jumper wire and connected it with the green and white
  14. there’s two black wires running towards the distributor one wasn’t plugged into anything before was just dangling. other was connected with the points. one of them runs back to the harness and is connected with the red n black wire upfront
  15. when i get back home ill take pictures of all the wiring
  16. i have a black wire that runs towards my distributor that was connected to the points before . it runs towards the front of the car and turns into a red and black wire that runs with the harness that goes towards idk if i should get rid of that entirely , connect it to something or tape it off
  17. i decided to upgrade to pertronix ignition with the flame thrower coil 3ohm . i’ve tried to research on it and install it without the ballast resistor i made a jumper wire between the green and white/black and white. ran the other black/white to positive and the red from pertronix to the + and black to - on the coil. Tried swapping the black/white wires around and still won’t start up. Idk what is wrong with it now . it’ll crank and crank just don’t start
  18. well guys i took the cable out and lubed it up. the nozzles pull down and car starts easier when cold now but stick some when i push the choke back. now my issue is after driving it seems to accelerate slow and sluggish , also noticed an exhaust leak that wasn’t there before so idk if that could make it run that way or if it’s a different issue now.
  19. i did get the bracket to mount cable on center tunnel instead of under console since my console was broke already. ill take the cable off today and get it oiled up . it might be broke or needing some oil since it’s already real hard to pull back
  20. ill check the cable by the consoles as well
