  1. And always use copper grease when you put those steel studs into a aluminum head, so they don't get stuck in there forever..
  2. For the thin line you could perhaps use those links that are used in brake lines. You could check if larger diameters are available..

225VR15 means its an 80% hight tire, but they leave the 80 away, you could say its: 225/80VR15 width is 225mm, at 80% the hight is .8 x 225 = 180mm
  4. Yes! Thanks for the foto! I think those are pretty early ones? Later om they had also the white lights in the orange lower part? I had never seen them before. Notice also the very eurostyle bumpers with rubber corner and round rubber thingy to close up the hole (were US. style bumperettes are on )
  5. Thanks for the quick replies.. Sorry don't have any pictures from them.. They are on an attic.. 'don't have access to it easy.. In the near future i will clean them up and make some pictures. Mart.
  6. Hello you all.. Last month i found a set of rear 240z lights, i know they came from a lot i bought years ago from a Belgian, and he told me they came from France.. At first i didn't see it but then... The upper part is red en the lower is orange! No white light for the reverse lights! My question: Is this a very early type or is this typically French ? Maybe @Sean Dezart can help? Thanks in advance! Mart

Enormous job! But when you open up a car like that.. aren't you afraid that the door wil never fit again, without any brace? (Looked fast through your waterfall of pictures..) Impressivvv!! Oh well you can always make the door fit!

Check the fitting of the seal with a (printer) piece of paper, put it on the seal and close the hatch, if it can be pulled easily away the hatch seal is not closing at that spot.. use a small and long peace of printerpaper.
  9. Eurobumpers do have the horizontal rubbers, just not those bumperettes! But also do have the holes in them for these bumperettes or "rozettes as we call them... these are 8mm. In the euro version Nissan had closed these holes with rubber caps.. This red one (Mine..) has the original bumpers with euro rubbers.. Notice also the euro style indicators ON the bumpers due to regulations in the Netherlands.. These were original in the Netherlands. my car became road legal after restoring in 2000. Later on the American indicators became legal also (Round 2010 or so?) (Bumperettes were NEVER used in Europe as far as i know, certainly not in the Netherlands, i find them ugly and dead weight !)
  10. Sadly..no.. but it has a 6,5 mm steel ring welded to the 3 spokes. I took 6 pieces of mahogany and shaped this around on a slab of wood, this I did 2 times. the front layer with a cavity of 7 mm and the rear ring of 6 parts solid. This glued with 2 components glue. the ribs on the back I've made with the help of a powerfile. al the work took me 36 hours!
  11. old topic.. nice steering wheel! My problem was it is to thin.. so i took of the "wood" and put on some mahogany with the use of a hand milling machine made me a new wheel... after lots of sanding and 8 coats of lacquer it was beautiful..

A cast impeller can also deteriorate .... this one was 36 year old (280zx) and customer used water temporarily
  13. One has to look twice.. or more to see that the rear fenders edge is not in line with the doorline! (See shadow in pic2 in ID7) I to would like it to be corrected when i paid about 4000 euro for that job! (In depth its not correct mounted, to deep at the door or to far out at the wheelwell )
  14. Hihi... good one Blue...
  15. Clarion was in Europe the original radio.. where Hitachi's were AM radio in de States.. Clarion came without channel search and also only AM.. (In 240Z)
  16. Mine has the roller type hinges, and yes it's from feb, 1971.
  17. Are those injectors firing... AT the right time... when they don't, the engine runs like crap.. put in another ECU.. with same number..
  18. For $1500,- ?? Can i get 10 of those?
  19. Years ago this was already done in the Netherlands.. chrome plating the normal (chemical) way is very expensive.. When i look closely at those pictures...am i the only one who's seeing a lot of imperfections? sorry..... (I think that the prep work wasn't that good..)
  20. Here in the Netherlands were only 240 cars of the 240Z sold..in the '70 .... they were 21000 guilders (At that time one US dollar was about 2 guilders?) ! These days here are a lot of imported California 240z for sale for about 15000 euro's! Those are worn out wrecks most times! And yes..it's time to put a good alarmsystem on those 240Z cars if you ask me!

In Europe those bumperguards never existed.. (In my opinion it looks much better without those stupid.....) Also in Japan there were no guards! so why bother? The holes were closed with a special little round rubber.. Those new rubber door seals have to sit for a while, after a month having de doors closed readjust if necessary.. Contact vintage rubber why the inner hatch seal does not fit.. and those rubber plugs... measure the hole and get them in a auto store
  24. Hé Dennis, what does Pendejo mean? Is it spanish for "show me"? Hahaha did i have a laugh when i put it in a translator!
