  1. Acetone WILL hurt your dash, as it is a plastic.. (It melts.) Do i see a crack in your dash? put a new cap on it...
  2. seems impossible...(to get to without taking off that wheel..) I also thought it is UNbalancing the wheel with that lead.. can one balance a brakedrum and put some lead in that one spot and make it balance? I don't think so...
  3. I've seen brakedrums with a peace of lead in those inspection holes...
  4. If chassis is good.. no brainer.. bring it to me and you'll get your money (5500 dollar) today... pfff... it's a bit far away..as always...
  5. Btw. it was a electric original with metal casing NOT plastic as far as i know.. very similar to the 280zx antenna.. Like in the picture.. not sure if this is a 240 or 280zx antenna
  6. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HARADA-MX2-NOS-POWER-ANTENNA-DATSUN-NISSAN-240Z-260Z-280Z-MERCEDES-VW-MAZDA-MINI-/222191883691?hash=item33bbab15ab:g:F-oAAOSwRgJXjj65&vxp=mtr Same for a lot less.. But to me these antennas are as a lot of stuff these days on ebay ....what i call EBAY JUNK! It looks nice but after a few times it stops working ... sorry but had bad experiences
  7. Aftermarket wheels on my "winter" 240z and a set of refurb. 280zx iron cross originals.. for my 280zx slick top restauration 1979.. early euro style Datsun 280zx
  8. Here a typical euro aftermarket rim if you ask me.. Indianapolis 14" came out around 1972 .. These oldies are not to be trusted for high speed driving so i don't use them. I think they are made of magnesium?
  9. I think you need a new or used but good injector. They don't work on the full 12 volt so.. never put 12 v on them directly.. it will break them! They are working with serial resistors see your manual.. I believe only the choke injector is 12 volt directly.. Also a good injectorcleaner can't hurt. When you put all 6 injectors in cans and you crank the engine you will see that every injector delivers a different amount of fuel.. after cleaner it that wil be better.. Succes.. Mart

I parted out a 240z and some 280zx's and took about 25 kg to a firm who plates about anything.. i thought its not worth the hassle to do it myself..
  11. use some rubber glue.. it is normally used to repair shoes.. With that glue you can always get it off when needed. I used it to glue the edge-ring of a 280zx 1979 left side mirror.

Also the numbers are NOT factory original.. they are irregular and punched in much to hard on a soft underground.. take a look at a original you'll see the difference..
  13. Yeap.. fan...vent... blower.. whatever.. ;-) that thing that blows air.. haha.. But know... if the blowermotor becomes worn out, use it only on full speed.. better restore it before it kicks the bucket.. if you use it on half or low speed the resistor is not cooled enough and will ...eh...kick the bucket! (This is because the motor is asking more current and the airflow is limited by lower rpm's..)
  14. Those are the resistors to make 3 speeds out of a one speed ventilator.... and clever thinking the japanese engineer placed it.. in the vent.hose.. it heats the air and cools the resistor and the resistor can be cept fairly smal.. three flies catched at one go!

The PO always laid the car on his back...to clean the undercarriage and bleed the brakes!
  16. I've got a original midpipe from nissan somewhere on my garage attic. I know it's black with a small pre-muffler in it. it's black satin gloss original! Has no dents few scratches if i remember correctly. ;-)

  18. BTW Hazards lights are controlled (I think) by a heavy-er cligno.. because now it has to work with twice as much lampbulbs
  19. When moisture shortcircuit the bulbs the cligno shuts down and none of the lights wil flash including the ones on your dash! So, Yes!

Years ago i saw these in a 240z rallycar.. bought these, they will look great and work very well in my red 240z with black interior.. when my 280 is done i will find time to put then in.. i think.... They are German made KöNIG seats, they make seats for all kind of cars, trucks anything that drives and needs seats! The with is good, they will fit and most important I fit with my 6 ft 3" or as we say 1,94 mtr These do have sliders, no sliders means not streetlegal over here! (Sorry for the dusty picture at that time i just had a new sealing..)
  21. Also replace rubber parts of your light units... its leaking.
  22. Take out the old staples and use 'm again.. i've done it before.. ( not a nice job but someone has to do it.. make the holes with a small drill to put the staples in.) To Djwarner.. i want to say also, rename this topic to: A source for repro door CARDS. when you say doorskin i think of the outside skin, the metal skin you could buy to renew your outside doormetal.. so people can later on find this topic better.

John, Wat a beautiful story, I own my 240 for 18 years now and never... only ones.. left me staying.. no gas..hahaha... there was not enough gas in it to drive over a highway bridge.. the pump suckt air.. and as we all know it needs more than air to go! Wish you many more happy miles with your Christine! Mart
  24. My painter say's don't use paintstripper on cars..(We want a perfect paintjob.) because you will find it back IN your paintwork later..(Even after a good clean) Now he's sanding and sanding... my car only has primerpaint no bondo.. under his older paintjob. (I'm restoring a 280zx 2+2 without that (flexing, front glass breaking) T-bar!)
