Hello again and after finding a truck load of air leaks and blocked injectors the 280z finally runs. A local garage helped out making sure it's running but it feels like its running flat, it does run but I feel like i need to put my foot to the floor to get any where. Idles fine and I checked plugs and they look perfect. Also seems to really struggle from 4000rpm onward like it's just running out of power. Not to sure where to start. New fuel pump,regulator, injectors cleaned. Any input would help. I feel like I'm close. Thanks

Hi, no bubbles with cap off. Water level just slowly rises up and overflows out of radiator. It's got me scratchn my head. Cheers

Hello again, my 1980 280z has a burbling (slowish) noise coming from the overflow tank. the car runs fine and does not overheat, doesn't seem to be using water either, is this normal? the oil is not grey or murky and radiator itself is full. im just wondering if there is a bit of air in the system? any ideas would be appreciated. thanks Chris

Thanks! I know the pressure is set at 36psi at idle so I will change it, and yes it seemed to drive home ok.

hello im new on this site and have just brought a very tidy 1980 280z (looks like the zx) (car had only done 6500km in 11 years) i drove it 700km home with no issues but the next day it just wouldnt run right. was running on 3 or cylinders. after finding crap in the tank had gone thru the pump and filter, the injectors we blocked. they were serviced and new pump and fuel reg replaced but now when you give it a bit of a squirt it gets to about 3500 rpm the car dies and makes a pre ignition bang in the engine bay. plugs are black. i have also changed plugs,leads,coil,rotor and cap. still runs rich. im just about to give up but thought i would ask around to see if anyone has any ideas. timing has been checked also. any help would be greatly appreciated:) Cheers
