many thanks going out to you all, my '82 ZX is up & running, has been fully rebuilt now, and i am currently running the engine in, thanking everyone for all the help & info i needed to get this happening..... the body is very straight & rust free (apart from one spot, grrr) it has been garaged for the last 8 years, but now this classic is back on the road again...... thanks, mellow:dead:

Thanks 260zed, i diddnt think id have much luck atall, i just dont have the money to order in a new custom made kit for the 280ZX..... thought it would be worth a go anyways.... if anyone has any info id be interested, thanks ps, 260zed i see you have a 2 seater 260Z, i bet thats a nice ride mate!!! im looking for a body kit for my 82 280ZX... ive seen an MSA kit before & they look pretty damn nice! i know this sort of thing may sell prettyt quick on a site like this so my chances dont seem the best, but always worth a go.... ohh & it owuld make it alot simpler if i could get one from sumwhere in australia, thanks mellow...:cheeky:

the thanks Mr Camouflage, i need all this so my mecanic can finish my car, its an 82' 280ZX ill try & post a picture up for ya..... ive never driven it yet, so it should be really cool, how would a L28 injected compare to and L26 with twin flat tops? They are both auto's, my 260z 2+2 is the only zed ive driven so far, i hope the 280ZX will go as well.... anyone else know the rest? thanks, mellow:dead:

i also have this disease, i started off as a 260z fan... so i got a 2+2, then another and now i just got my 280ZX which i am having the engine rebuilt at the moment... but still my dream car the 240z hasnt come along yet.... this Z fever $^!# is taking over my mind & unfortunitly my wallet aswell:cry: mellow

Hey zlovers!!!!!!!!!! ok ive been thinking of puitting an RB26 into my 260z.... question is what mods will need to be made, to the engine, mounting brackets & everything else...... around what would this cost me to get done, with a 5 speed box put in at the same time?!?! im in south ozzy btw... now this is all legal if im correct, but can i replace my engine with a turbo engine? (RB26 DETT has my attention) or will this need compiancing or any other tests or anything???? also im assuming that my genie 6-2-1 headers wont fit an rb26?!?! or am i worng there? any other suggestions and comments would be appreciated.... thanks, mellow:stupid:

youch, well i dont think ill be buying a 240z set of carbs... ill see how theese britt ones go... i know the britt carbs work (they ran my old motor) but how good is the thing, well i spose ill try & get my new motor running & get the carbs tuned up & see how it goes from there. thanks all, Cris:dead:

hey all, ok right on top of the little fuel wells it has Brittish SU Carburettor company writeen on there (or something along those lines) it also has the 3 screws... Also i have no idea how to adjust the floats and the carbys are now in my car.... the numbers on the inlet manifolds are N36 (water cooled) and the head is an E88... @ raman, so if i chose to put an RB26 engine in my 260 that wont have to go through regency??? that would be cool but id really like to stick with the original engine for now... my emails also mellowoutandplaysomehackey@hotmail.com if anyone has any info to help me that would be great! so the jap carbs are a better than the brittish?!?! whats a decent seccond hand set worth??? i dont have much money as im only a young kid (17) and this is my first car and i pretty much spent most of my money on a new engine for it... so if theres any cheap options i would also like to hear them... but i dont want to comprimise performance really thanks for your help everyone! Hey, this is what ive found, i have genie 6-2-1 headers on my 260... if your going to put one a 2 1/2 pipe and a turbo exhaust i suggest getting the headers also, if not for the extra bit of power for the sound atleast, your 2 1/2 pipe will sound much better with the headers! sorry im also a carby man too tho mellow
