Well it's been forever since I've gotten to mess with the Z, wedding/honeymoon/relax a bit... But I finally got some time today and knocked out afew things. Finally started replacing all the vacuum hoses, but in the process I found a mystery wire, ideas anyone? Finally got my new air dam installed. (240z bumper in process of getting mounts made) Removed the stock mirror. These worth anything? And I decided I need to replace the air filter...

Goob's 72 Franken-Z
Nice 240 goob! That's awesome you were able to get it running relatively easy, hope I have the same luck. I also am working on getting a VA find back on the road.

Between work and getting wedding stuff ready, I haven't had to much time to make any progress. But today I made some time to take care of some little things. Dropped the gas tank, removed the front and rear big ugly bumpers (got a slimmer 240z front bumper on the way), and installed fender mirrors. Next I'm hoping to clear up some time and replace the vacuum and fuel lines. Then hopefully see if it will crank over! And while I was poking around under there I found this bad boy!

Some Z's laid to rest
On an attempt to find some random parts, I hit up some local salvage yards in hopes of finding some Z's. After not finding anything at any of the big yards, I went out to this random place in the middle of nowhere. Now all the cars here are just scattered throughout the woods. I walked around for an hour or so and found these three, but the guy there said he knows there should be afew more. Even though I thought I was going to be murdered somewhere in the woods, I think I'm going to go back with a real camera for a shoot. Lots of really cool old cars rotting away in those woods.

Z31 parts on S30?
I see a lot of individual parts posted to check on, but is there any parts from z31's that I can put on my 78 280z that would be recommended? I know a guy with a lot of z31 stuff and would like to do any swap outs that I can if it's better.

I'm not a fan either, especially now that I know it's not original.. I'd like to end up welding another roof on down the road.

Don't have much to compare them too, but they seem decent

well had some good and bad stuff go down today.. first off, i started tearing down the interior to find some of the usual floor rust.. then i came inside to look up some certain replacement parts, only to find they don't exist because my car is not supposed to have this! :(

Finally got to bring the Z home today! Got to look at some stuff a little closer and test some stuff. I think I need to run through the fuses and bulbs. Going to remove the bumpers and drain the gas tank tomorrow. Got the pics of the engine bay too, anything stand out?
