on the holley blowthrough I am using a 600CFM,(modified for blowthrough application) on the Arizona Z manifold and had a rolling road tune up after installing a AFR and EGT gauge. Without any adjustments it was making a hair over 300hp at the rear wheels using a hybrid T4/T5 and intercooler with aprox 13 boost. This was for tuning, rather than power, the consensus was not to touch anything. With the holley carb set up being so simple I of course went out and bought a hacked up, barely running, 73 240Z with a RB25DET:D

The blowthrough does make for a fun set up, it will stumble in 2nd gear at 1000rpm pulling into a parking lot for example, but otherwise below 3000rpm it is docile. I average 20mpg in Los Angeles Traffic, and 32 mpg on the freeway.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with the Holley, Previously always considered Holleys a rather archaic and neanderthal approach to fuel delivery, (rather like a bucket with a hole in the bottom) However, having to reevaluate because it just works so well at least based on my own experience with a Holley 1850 on a Arizona Z Car intake manifold but as a Blowthrough using a T4/T5 Hybrid turbo with intercooler on a 280ZX Turbo drivetrain. The Lokar throttle cable and bracket work much better than the "other" brand, i had the same issue with the black plastic cable retainer.

Thanks, driving down at end of the month, first have to overhaul brakes and change fluids etc, ( pedal has a lot of travel) car has been in storage for 3 years Problem I have is car in Sacramento and I'm in LA and before I can order new braided !Ines ,pads and discs I need to know what I currently have Drive train from 280Zx, turbo, my suspicions are that with R200 diff and rear discs I may have Zx brakes front and rear

Just purchased a '71 240Z as a project car $5.5k Growing up in Scotland a family friend had one of the 70 odd Super Samuris built by Broadspeed cylinder head ace, Spike Anderson. 1973 Datsun 240Z ?Super Samuri? Big Sam Is Back! The car was purchased in the Bay Area, registered as a non op vehicle and has been in storage since 2010. Most importantly it is solid with only minor areas of rust, the floors have their original paint (which is more than can be said for the rest of the car ). Currently a very faded silver, previously black and originally Sunshine yellow. Engine, manual 5 speed gearbox and R200 diff from a 280ZX turbo. Rear disc brakes and Dana wheels. Induction is a Holley "blowthrough carb: with a Garrett AR 50 Turbo with intercooler. No surprise that the PO included a spare clutch:classic: No headliner, cracked dash (spare dash cover included), mismatched race seats and no heater. Rubber trim cracked and dried out same for all suspension bushings. Missing bumpers. Stops in a straight line, brakes work but there is a lot of pedal travel. The plan is to drive the car back to Los Angeles along the coast using Ca State Route 1 in the next couple of weeks. I'll have about 24hrs to prep the car for the trip.
