which engine to go with?
Through lots of research and all the comments. I am going to keep it nissan. I just have to decide if it will be the l28 or rb25. And so far leaning toward the L28. I lean more to the purity of it and that most people look for bigger and better but efficient is often overlooked. It is appealing to me. Thank you for all the various input and links. As soon as I am settled on my new location the build begins!

which engine to go with?
i am about to begin a new job site. Once I get settled I will be sure to reach out and try to hitch a ride with someone. I am somewhat intrigued with the idea of an l28 build. But with a few of the redneck swaps i have seen with a chevy small block i am tempted to do that but do it right and not just take a 350 out of a pickup and yell out watch this as i do burnouts. I mean to get the suspension front and back right to make it handle properly as well as the brakes to stop that weight. so many decisions. the ride I take will be the deciding factor. Probably won't go wight he 350 because it isn't "pure" but its just so tempting to show people how things can turn out when you do them with class and approach them thoughtfully. So many of my friends build these cars (have them built) with their daddies money and their engine bay is a mess and don't have the little touches or the motors they have they don't get the blocks and accessories painted. the little touches go a long way. any who i have began to ramble. thanks again for all the guidance. i will keep you updated with the decision and the ride. Oh one more question. in this build would it be beneficial to add sound mat to the interior process? I'm def a fan of how quiet cars are now days. I feel like if the weatherstripping is fresh and the sound mat is in place old cars can be the same? any others have experience with quieting the ride?

which engine to go with?
Thanks for all of the help and I will be using the car mostly for weekend cruising and enjoyment. Sometimes my brother who is about 4 hours from me will have something going on so id like to be dependable enough to drive that far. So obviously im not looking for a stroker motor. A friend of.mine has a 383 stroker and cant drive more than 30mminutes without worrying about the cylinder walls.

That 8500 is including buying the motor/trans

which engine to go with?
My budget on motor/trans is 8500. But this will be my first build that isnt just buying a bolt on part and thinking I did something. This is my first complete car to go through. Im assuming whichever I pick the wiring will be a few thousand to put in all new. Im not sure but I figured thatd leave me room for costly mistakes.

which engine to go with?
Thanks for the post. I really appreciate the feedback. My thinking has been that I will build a straight 6 and get the most performance I can using the best configuration and some better than stock parts. But from what I gather, alot of the stock parts are very good to begin with. Again thanks for the help

which engine to go with?
What I originally intended to ask is if the in line 6 gives the power and performance to really provide a wonderful feel. Is it ever laggy on response or feel weak?

which engine to go with?
Its going to be an early 70s 240. I am in the process of finding a rust free body. Then I plan I stripping it down and having it prepped for paint. And will have new wiring. But before I begin wiring I need to know my entire build plan. Which is all decided on my power train.

which engine to go with?
Planning the new build. Should I go with the the f54 or should I do a swap? I want a fun build. I want a fun streetable car that will surprise the non beleiver that pulls up beside me. But most of all I want it to be consistently fun to drive and not overpowering. And reasonably maintainable. Any help is appreciated

new build planning
How fun is the driving with the f54? Im looking and see so many swaps being doin primarily with skyline engines. Obviously its more cost effective going true to the era. And I think it has more character if the car has a rebuilt, nice and fine tuned engine. But for how drivable it is and responsive....what are your and anyone elses feelings on the original engine.
