When it fails to crank, put a jumper wire between the battery cable and ignition wire on the starter. Make sure the car is in neutral.

I have successfully stuck those back on with JB Weld. You have to press the tab down firmly while the epoxy is setting.

Clutch Pedal Adjustment Questions
My clutch pedal pad is 9 inches from the floor pan with no carpet, so it seems 8 7/8ths with a floor covering is about right. I have about 2 3/4 inches of rod inside the firewall to the clevis adjuster. It looks like you have the short rod, do you still have the old master cylinder?

Clutch Pedal Adjustment Questions
I purchased a clutch master cylinder from Rock Auto, it was very cheap and works fine. I did have to swap the pushrod from the original cylinder to the replacement one, for some reason the aftermarket pushrod was too short. No problems otherwise.

My New Diff Mount and Strap Project
I had the same clearance problem accessing the bolt when I changed my broken original mount. On the new one, I used a die grinder to remove a little metal from the mount so I could use the original bolts. Got good access with a standard socket and ratchet.

Are rubber steering couplers available?
Maybe so, it does have a nice solid feel. I thought it was an original part until reading the information here.

Are rubber steering couplers available?
Someone long ago replaced my coupler with one made of solid aluminum. I have not driven the car over 20 MPH yet, so I haven't experienced the vibrations. I may have to look into a softer one someday.
