Hi / Low Headlight Switch...alternatives
Hi Guys, I have had the usual issues with left indicator working intermitedly and solved this issue by opening the moon shaped switch that the indicator stalk goes into and cleaning it up, strectching the spring and re-installing. At the same time I was hoping to fix the switch for the hi/low beams and damaged it beyond repair. I was wondering if this same switch is found in a 280ZX or any other Datsuin models? It was available new from some Datsun suppliers up until a year or so in Australia so new is not an option anymore. The switch I'm talking about is the square one pictured below with the long plastic "pin" sticking out!???

Largest wheels specificed by nissan/datsun for s30's
thats very interesting, is there any more to that one sheet perhaps something like the front page with reference to the S30 / 240 / 260? Sorry to be a pain but that page could have been pulled out from anywhere if you pull it out of the car when pulled over.

ZG flares do I have to cut?
Jon, yes I agree and should have pointed that out. As a result it still can bottom out when going hard around a corner however my logic was to try cutting that much and always easier to cut more if needed. I did'nt want to cut too high and have the heat melt paint away however I was very impressed by how good a job the TIG welder did and will definatley go higher when the car becomes a priority again after renovations and garage are finished some time later this year.

ZG flares do I have to cut?
I think one think you might not have realised about why you like the flares is that when the tyres fill them out they do look good but if mount them with 7 or 8 inch wheels and zeroish offset it will look a bit off i think. It really is a catch 22 situation if your not sure about cutting the guards. See if you can get your hands on one rear gaurd and just stick it on the rear with tape and you will see what I mean. I did this with mine whilst waitng for my wheels to come in and it looked pretty scarey...anyhow just a thought before you do any drilling. good luck You can see where the tyres rubbed on the cut outs when I used to go over bumps...ouch!

Enigma, reading that first artical by Nick Howell I noticed in the accompaning pic of Big Sam that there is a car that looks like the one in question behind Big Sam. I've pasted the pic below, I assume this would be a pic taken by Nick Howell in the UK back in the day. The car at the rear even has the same tinted chrome rimmed light covers, see below;

pics of z car with nice rims please!!
ROH in Australia make some beefy custom wheels. I'm pretty sure you can order from O/S. I had the 3 piece wheels below made up for my car but they many different designs especially if you want to go to a 16 or 17!? http://www.rohwheels.com/asp/home.asp

My Video on the Aussie Datsun Nationals
Thanks guys. It was fun finally having some good Z footage to put together. Hi Jim, Yer I spent the bulk of the Concourse Day lying on the grass with the GF on the hill just below my car. I was worn out from all the walking around the track on the day prior, I really wanted to get the cars in the corners. It really was a great event, excellent venue and the weather could'nt have been better!

I put together a short vid of the events...here- my car is for sale 240Z
I thought he sold it for about $45,000!????- Widest Wheel?
http://www.viczcar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=788- Repro door skins
Here in Australia we buy them from AllZparts in NSW. From memory about AUD$300.00 per skin which works out to about USD$$220.00 I think but then you would have the shipping component. http://www.allzparts.com.au/- YOU JUST HAVE TO LOOK AT THESE Z's!!!
How cool is that jeez they've got some really nice cars, it's a shame they don't do the 240 in a RC version! Here's some more from their site. The detail is great. How big is 1:24 scale in length?- YOU JUST HAVE TO LOOK AT THESE Z's!!!
These are selling on e-bay! Theres one that looks exactly like my car! I bought it, might buy the others also.- Triple Carbs vs. SU
my guess is you could sell quite a few of tripple SU manifolds if somebody made them up. It would be interesting to get some feedback on any performance gains!? they certainly would look pretty cool though, i would be up for one manifold!- Special Datsun Build Rear Spoiler!!!
Paul is trying to "sell" it. He reckons he might have more luck on the Honda forums. I agreed! - '07 Nationals
