Camshaft Oil Spray Bar Redesign and Rebuild
I'll actually contact you for one of yours in the future, still have a L31 to build hahaha. God willing neither of us vanish, . So put one aside on hold for me. I simply chose the billet unit because I struck a deal with Larry prior. If we would have communicated sooner it would have been the other way around. Larry Hassler can be reached at: larryracer240z@gmail.com or (626) 485-5767.

Hastings #6124 030 rings question
I see. Well .30 over sounds to be what you need. It's neither common nor uncommon. More power for the penny IMO, bigger is better ideally. But we can only still go so far before issues arise.

Hastings #6124 030 rings question
Please do not guess, mic your cylinder bore. If you have just honed an existing 3.4 bore, assuming it was bored properly the first time by a machine shop using the zx pistons, it should have had the p2w clearance already set in the neighborhood of 3.416 (ish). Give or take a few thousandths given your new quick hone. Also mic your piston, you may find that it too may measure just a bit under 3.4/3.416. Now you want to check clearance in 2 ways, one slide your piston naked ( no rings ), gracefully up and down the bores to make sure there's no binding anywhere. Next try the rings. Insert your rings into your cylinder, I use the piston to make sure they travel down evenly. Go about half way down, that's about the distance it'll travel. Be sure to use a lil' bit of oil/lube so you don't score anything. If they butt against one another or intersect, too tight. If not get a ring file. Get a manual, and begin filing to get your ideal ring end gap. but before you do all that you can easily tell if they fit or not by simply mocking them up next to the cylinder bore. Just don't squeeze them too tight trying to make them fit when they don't, they will snap. Good Luck! Joel

Camshaft Oil Spray Bar Redesign and Rebuild
CO, hope you enjoyed the vaca. I did get your pm, and I did reply. I was able to find the billet bar, so for now I will just grab that one. Thank You for still being around man. I'm so glad I stumbled upon you both. Rare gems like these help preserve the oem look but with a great improvement to quality and durability. I laughed at their pricing. I saw that, while looking for the original pioneers of the spray bar.

Most Expensive Z So Far
I crossed this car when I bought my datsun, it came up while researching some parts. It was for sale at 190K when I saw it, and I laughed. So, I think it should count. Maybe he revised it. I seen 120K.

Building A L28 (Na)
I've read so much, some times material get's scrambled together. What I do know, and have concluded is, if you already have it, keep it and build what you got! The gains are negligible, the differences minute, depending on application. The money saved can go to other aspects of the build to improve the engine. Madkaw was on the right track with his suggestions. Definitely let this motor be your crash course, experience your efforts first. When you get bored of it's "power," You'll already possess the knowledge to go bigger and better.

New here from SoCal
I'll spare you all the boring details. My names Joel. I am New to the Z car community. I'm on a few other Z forums, same SN. For now I'll just be absorbing as much as I can. Reading a lot. Trying to establish some good fundamentals in understanding the Z car so I can finish my own late 260z. Hope I get to share it all with you one day soon. It's nothing grand, but it's mine. Basically, it's a shell that needs a motor. The L28 that came with the car is temporarily seized. I Haven't progressed much as to try an un-seize it, but I wont be needing it until later anyway. For the meantime I bought a L26 I'm currently refreshing it.
