  1. Are these plastic or brass? Link to the part?
  2. @Ownallday sorry for leading you down the wrong path with my posts, I've edited them so others wont be misguided.
  3. I RockAutoed all my stuff. Z Car Depot is an option... Amazon is not bad either. (order in 43 min and get it Sunday for me) https://www.amazon.com/Cloyes-9-4134SA-Multi-Piece-Timing-Kit/dp/B000C08IM0/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3FKC99YRVAE1M&keywords=94134SA&qid=1699683391&sprefix=94134sa%2Caps%2C121&sr=8-1&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc
  4. Ahhh.. well if sprocket 3 is still too far out what do you plan to do? run it as is? There are plenty of Z shops in So-Cal, MSA is down there too, I'm sure they can get you a chain set, AutoZone says they can get me one by 11/13.
  5. I got a C&H set in my Z.... It looks like i got it back in 2018.... My car leaks 😞 so i dont keep the driver side mat in...
  6. Shoot back to your buddies place and to the test that is shown in EM-52, when I was rebuilding my motor the new chain was so tight it only fit on notch 1. I think you can adjust the sprocket with the cover on, people swap cams with the engine inside... just don't let that chain drop. EDIT: See
  7. It looks like you can adjust which position the sprocket is in in order to adjust the tension on the sprocket. EDIT* DON'T LISTEN TO ME, IM WRONG HERE SEE
  8. >Engine is already placed back into the vehicle but before turning keys... did you assemble the whole thing and reinstall it? or is the front cover off? In this image below from "How to modify your nissan/datsun OHC engine" the head of the tensioner looks like it is close to the guide.
  9. +1 on the LSD, I've heard good things about MFactory LSDs, there was also an "OBX" LSD that was a more "affordable" option, if you go the OBX route, it required modifications to the hardware. There are threads on HybridZ... How are the gear ratio of the rear end treating you? Do you plan to make changes to the brake system? 1. IDK, test it out and see what happens. 🙂 Report back.... 2. Check Craigslist too 🙂
  10. how far are they apart? I might have some floating around in my parts bin..
  11. https://www.jbugs.com/product/N203741.html Might work for the hose. Why would a 15/16" master make everything more stiff, wont that push more fluid than the OEM 7/8" bore MC? Meaning less pedal input for the same fluid displaced? I hear Z-Car garage has a nice brake package being that you're down in San Jose n all 🙂
  12. I've been using copper-antisieze on most of my suspension components, relying on the snap washer to hold it all in place. I'll replace the snap washers if i notice they have less spring to them. Nothing has loosened up yet, drive the car pretty hard...
  13. Just wanted to add some noise to the conversation, this dude makes some really nice interiors for other Datsuns. Wonder what two completely new door cards would cost, and how close they are to OEM. https://www.instagram.com/tree_ausawa/
  14. If you have the dimensions use sendcutsend.com
  15. Might be able to use the gooey door plastic `3m 08578` that is used to get the plastic liners behind the door-cards to stick... I should do this on my car, i was feeling loopy the other night driving around.
  16. I searched for "water proof push button switch", I ruined one of the 5 when I was fixing this, so might be nice to have a few spare... Its pretty hard to open the OEM switch without the plastics breaking, I find it to be too brittle, there is a spring and some sort of rotating dial/mechanism in there. I would be surprised if they can be repaired... I guess its a switch, thin metal, when it weathers and builds resistance its going to heat up and melt. https://www.ebay.com/itm/323539395923?hash=item4b54736553:g:Q8wAAOSw8Ehb49~s&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0EZ442YEWVNV2hOaEEz5Gnxia76JJ6I6kY34KBMUMNHDsP6tz2gOh%2BAf0iPPVVIejs9%2FrhLedyvMf3hh9aThRcHU75wUaY8UCsZBcgIioyTUfi%2Fy72VdBqoKzsSrDjzYkLWsOhrKvSA8bccwn17DDATenZis8COZwZYaUbgPsLjT%2BizXifWSPO8PQJrTszkzZeJ238GdaA1onX13HWOjzvJoOvHS0kO13BvB5DWpy8t9Y%2FMFS8PZPtRT6d2Wajfc1p0ZmXroMd8%2BnKT2mq94ZYU%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-L4xN_6YQ I should install the damn headliner and finish putting the interior together.
  17. If you hit the rubber grommets with a heat gun (or the wife’s hair drier) it’s gets soft enough to pull over the terminals.
  18. Something like this might work. https://greenline.jp/catalogue/item.php?category=interior&subcat=Boss Kits&brand=Works+Bell&series=&name=Boss+Kit&carcode=S30&fromlink=2#image4 https://www.lonelydrivercompany.ca/products/copy-of-star-road-super-short-boss?_pos=3&_sid=c76b43dfb&_ss=r
  19. oh man i wish this was out a couple months ago when i was rebuilding my gearbox.... must fight the hoarding urges.
  20. Wow 20 bucks and you have a 4 pin core right there too
  21. Internet does not forget, and we never throw away parts 😬
  22. I fixed a truck this morning that had grinding when the brake was depressed.... Some of the bolts that hold the rotor to the hub had backed out, had to tap the treads, then used blue lock-tite on them... interestingly there are no snap washers on them, same on the other side... If you are rubbing while turning, or when you are over bumps, then raise the car... but like others have said, give it another look...
  23. What driving characteristics do you get if you torque them while its in the air?
  24. How did you guys thing they made the wood composite? They don't grow trees like that right? 😉 Get the wood wet, bend into a mold? EDIT* post 1: "Izumi used a patented high-pressure heat moulding process." interesting.
