  1. Thanks - I am back in action through April!
  2. Got a chance to test the painting in the prep booth with some rattle can 2k epoxy primer.... It worked great . You can see where the overspray got drawn into the filters .... Parts came out fine ... welding them in tomorrow hopefully.... Rattle can epoxy primer is ridiculously expensive though. $23 and that took the whole can ...so definitely a laziness tax included in the price.
  3. No. The shop has a draw though exhaust that flows in the same direction - intake louver by the door, exhaust fan on the back wall. I considered hooking it directly to the booth but it flows too much air.
  4. Close. Negative pressure with lower fans on 3 and roof fans on 1. Positive with lower fans on 1 and roof on 3.
  5. New Years resolution ... better dust control. Enter Dust Booth 2.0 - quad box hybrid down draft /side draft .... Twin 3 speed exhaust .... Twin 3 speed intake ... Fully adjustable to run at negative pressure for sanding and grinding .... or positive pressure for paint work ... ?
  6. Thanks! No. A random guy who lives 5 mins away from me had a bunch of stuff in his garage and basement. More on that later ?
  7. Agreed - of course I found it AFTER I completed my DIY inners. For right now it is going to sit in the Hall of Fame ...
  8. Awesome -thanks for the info. Both my 240 shells have the same depression as yours so it makes sense that it is from a later car
  9. Scored a NOS inner rocker panel during a recent garage sale... Part number suggests it is from a 73? Can anyone confirm? Interesting! I did not realize that they cut drain holes in the lower section. All the shells that I have seen are pretty rusty in this area.
  10. I think that is pretty reasonable actually
  11. Actually that is not true. I might take all the cardboard templates to get a set laser cut - it would be much faster.
  12. haha - looks about right! There are two little right angled brackets not shown, so 13 pieces in all. I had "fun" making one -probably won't do it again....
  13. Welcome Nat0z. And thanks for the kind words! I'd love to see more of your stuff too - sounds like you are quite a bit further down this journey than I am. It's summer here so progress has been slow, but I will be back at it furiously towards the end of September. So check back for more pics ...
  14. Hey I just noticed this.  Welcome to the site Shon!  Nice looking fleet you have there!

Thank you for saying. If you are interested in meeting up for some Datsun chat some time let me know and we can find a place to meet. Perhaps one of these Friday nights at the Glenmore A&W for the classic car night?

I'd be in for a Root Beer and Datsun chat.

  15. Sort of. I bought a kit years ago. Basically it has contains the rotating parts and plans - source/cut/weld your own HSS.
  16. PS: I think it will be too heavy to rotate, plus it will be in the way. I plan to lift mine onto a rotisserie and then remove the jig when the time comes. Cheers
  17. Wow - that turned out really nice! I like the throttle linkage too!
  18. Do you ever sleep? J/k - your project is coming along fantastically! Great to finally see it in person. Great work!
  19. View Advert Anybody need this? I have a new project coming in so I need to make some room. It is a usable straight shell from a 73 240z sitting in my shop. It is not pristine by any means - floors and part of the firewall were replaced by the PO. They are solid but not pretty. It has a clean windshield and tails. The fenders and hood are NOT FOR SALE - the pic is just to show that the frame is straight. PM me if interested. 21. Whoa! Those are some outstanding pieces of work! If those are “prototypes” I would love to see the “production” versions!
  22. Here's an (attempted) artistic shot of with a couple of the ladies ....
