Hello, I am having the same problem as Will with my carburated L26. On Monday I started my car after a hard rain and I was warming it up. After 3 minutes, the engine shut off and I have not been able to start it since. The starter motor turns so I thought it would be the ignition or the fuel. I looked at the distributer cap and there are no cracks. The coil is definately giving spark to the distributer. I then pulled one of the ignition wires off of a spark plug and there seemed to be no spark. Was this wrong of me to do? Should there be an obvious spark? Anyways, there is a block off plate where the mechanical fuel pump used to be. So I checked the filter that is before the electrical fuel pump and it looks like there is a bunch of rust sediment in it. Is it safe to say that this is the problem? I tried to remove it, but I was afraid that gas would spew everywhere. If this is the problem, how should I remove it? Thanks in advance and sorry for the newbie questions. I just want to fix it on my own, drive it home, and hopefully drop the tank and recoat it, as well as replace many of the fuel lines. Ben

  4. Well, it didn't sell at 10,200 USD. How much would one of these cars be worth? 15K? I have no clue. It looks pretty awesome though. You would be a hit if you took this to Toyota fest in Southern California. Teehee. Ben

Hi Alan, I found a magazine this weekend and there are some great pictures in it. I am really curious about the red #16 car. Is this the first PZR, but with the modifications that you specified or is it a completely different car? I cannot read Japanese, but I believe this is from a race in 1970 due to the little "70" in the corner. Any information on these pictures would be great. I find it very interesting to say the least. I hope I am not the only one that feels this way. Thank you for the information that you gave about my other questions. -Ben

  7. What is wrong with first come first serve. Was it different last year? I understand your point about no non-Zcars on the main street Stephen, but two years ago when I attended, there were only about 5 nonZcars on that street. They won't go to a different venue becuase the whole point of having it there is to make money at their shop. I hope I am not bringing up the obvious. It would be a bummer to be in between two Non-S30 Zcars at the MSA show. I don't want to mingle. Ben
  8. It is a good thing that you caught that Jim, because I was watching this thread and it was clever of you to correlate the LHD S800 with the LHD C10 brochure that you came across. Was the C10 ever exported? The story about the S800 is quite interesting. I would be curiuos to know if that factual because it seems a little far fetched. I am not trying to say that I know more, because I don't. However, it seems that it would be too much effort for a major Japanese car company to cater to such a small market. Please don't take my word on this, I could be totally wrong because this is only an assumption. Does any of the people that are/were stationed in Japan know about this type of thing? The only countries that I can think of that are RHD countries are England, NZ, Australia, and Japan. What other countries are RHD? I am sure there are more.
  9. It is a shame that you have to sell it, but don't sweat it. You will get another one. I hope it gets a good home because it looks very original and georgous.
  10. Check this out. I was really suprized to see this on ebay. I have never seen one of these cars, but I have read a little bit about them. Supposedly, there is a great one in the UK. I would love to see this car. I hear they rev like motorcycles! What a find! This car would go great next to a Z in someones garage. 11. I would really like to go, but it is on my Mom's B-day every year. I will have to think about it and make a deal with my Mom. If only the big show was not on Sunday. Also, I am hoping to go to the Z convention. If not the whole time, at least for the show. It just depends on whether I am in school that early or not. Chris, is Her Majesty 26th going to be completely by the time the Z convention rolls around? Ben P.S. Vicky, I will definately tell you whether I am going to go or not in January. I would love to go on that drive.
  12. This is a timeless body style of the modern rendition of the 507. This picture was taken two days ago on my college campus. It has a student parking pass on the rear view mirror!!! BTW, I post pictures of other cars, but I am really happy with my car. It is my dream to never part with it, as it is special to me in many ways .
  13. Awe man... The lighting and the camera are both bad. You can see the car though. -Ben 10 more min until total lunar eclipse. p.s. I cann't upload the photo. I will be back later. I must see the Moon.
  14. He will understand. Say the type as well. If you want the 14 by 7.5j with the +1.5mm, just say you are looking for the 14 by 7.5j Type B rim. Good luck on finding the wheels.
  15. The Miura is a definate winner Lachlan, but my favorite car would be any Z432. One that has been loved all its life, thus, one that is completely original. Other than a Z432, hmm. That is a tough one. I was (still am) in love with the F40(I have poster of one in my dorm room as we speak.) 2000GT's are VERY high on my list. Forget it, I cannot make up my mind, there are way too many great cars. A 300SL gullwing, there, that is the one. Ben
  16. Hi Pete, To determine what size/offset wheels that you want depends on what kind of look you are going for. The classic Japanese look of the 70's is a lot of dish with tall tires. The 14" configuration that Watanabe recommends would look very old school and great on your lowered Z. The 15" wheels look more modern, but I have seen pictures of Z's with them and the cars looked great. Here are the recommended sizes from Watanabe. Both configurations look good, but I prefer the 14" wheels as the 14" look more period correct in my opinion, compared to the 15" wheels. Front: type A: 14-70†+3 Rear: type B 14-75 +1.5 Front: F8 15-70(+1) Rear: F8 15-75(+2) There is some give and take with these wheels sizes and offsets, but I would not go over 7.5j with a -3.5mm offset (type A) for the rear with the 14" wheels. I hope this was helpful. You will not regret getting Watanabe's for your car. Ben The silver Z: front: type A +3mm 14 by 7j Rear: type A -3.5mm 14 by 7.5j The white Z has the recommended Watanabe sizes for the 15" wheels as stated above. p.s. These pictures were taken from the Rs-Watanabe website.
  17. Thanks a lot guys. I apologize for posting a thread that was already posted. James and Pete, I hope you guys get to go and see these cars. -Ben
  18. The last link is the set I like most. The 4 spoke Watanabe's are nice looking too. Victor, your Mk's are really nice. Have any JDM enthusiasts commented on the wheels? I have only seen pictures of them.
  19. Hello everyone. I was at the local Borders Books today, and I was thumbing through the "Classic Cars" magazine and there was a little clip about the exhibit. It is for the 50 years of Nissan design and there is supposedly some great Nissan's on display at Nissan headquarters in Ginza, Japan. The article stated that some Skyline GT-R's, 240z's, roadsters, and some early prototypes (I forgot the one that it specified, but it was not an S30 prototype.) would be on display. I know nothing more, but I am very curious to see photos of the cars, or any info about it. Keep yours eyes pealed on the web. Ben p.s. I found this link: http://www.nissanhelp.com/News/Nissan%20Celebrates.htm

I saw these on ebay as well. I would be curious exactly why they would not fit on a LHD. Is this the same header that would come with the twin pipe 432 style exhaust? I think they are cool, but they look like they need more work than they are worth, IMHO. However, Trust is a really good company from what I have heard. They are also known as Greddy. I am not sure if they still use the "TRUST" name. Does anyone know? Ben
  21. Some of those prices aren't too bad and some seem outragous. Thanks for the link. Here is a link to the Work equip website. They make 3 really nice looking old school type wheels. http://www.worksuperwheels.com/wheels/equip_01.html http://www.worksuperwheels.com/wheels/equip_03.html http://www.worksuperwheels.com/wheels/equip_02.html I would personally go with 14" or 15" wheels, but I like a lot of rubber. Take care, Ben
  22. Those RS-8's are nice looking wheels. They are a nice combination old school cool with a modern twist. I really like the silver ones. The SSR mesh wheels are really nice? Are the wheels still being produced? Here is a pic of a car with some really nice SSR mesh wheels. I believe they are the SSR reverse mesh, but I am not sure. What size and offset are you looking for? I hope you find a set. They really are nice looking wheels. Ben http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=3676&sort=2&cat=500&page=12
  23. I have seen sets cheaper, but it seems that the more desireable the size and offset, the more they cost. You are right though, the price is not great. If there was no curb rash, then it would not be bad. There was a set of 14 by 6.5 type B's that were selling for 600 that were in great shape, but I am not sure if they sold.

I really don't know much about the factory works race cars, but I would really like to learn more. I have saved a lot of pictures though. The pictures on the Watanabe site are some of the best ones that I have come across in regards to these cars. Alan, I was under the impression that there was about 19 Z432-R's produced. Is this roughly correct? If so, was the number so low because it was a homologation car? The reason I ask is because I thought that the factory made their own race cars which had bodies similiar to the 432-R like the works rally cars, but the private teams could buy a 432 (normal or R-type) with all the Nismo options, and that is why the 432-R came from the factory with the 4.5j steel wheels. I would have thought that a lot more would have been produced. Are many of them gone now because they were used as racers? Any help on this would be most appreciated. It has been something that I have been wondering about for a while. Thank you in advance. Chris, was the red 432 with the works rally wheels in the picture that you posted a "Works" race car? I would think that it would have had wider wheels than the 7j ones. It really is a beautiful car. Thank you everyone for your interest in this topic. These cars are such legends in Japan I am sure, both works Skyline and Z. I have looked in old American magazines and there was coverage of these races at Suzuki and such, but I have not read enough to say if there was a lot of coverage. -Ben p.s. Thank you for the info on the 2000GT Alan. I was reading through the "Classic Car" magazine the other day and there was a great article on the Shelby 2000gt's race cars. One of them was found in the 70's and at the time when it was discovered it was being used as a daily driver!!!
  25. Here is a nice set of Watanabe's that need a little bit of restoring. I have seen better prices, but 700USD would not be outragous for these wheels if the seller is being honest about the others not having bad scratches. I would request more pictures. This is a great offset for a S30, as it is the recommended size for the front of a non-flared S30. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7930635878&category=43954&sspagename=WDVW -Ben
