Clean one on e-bay
Other than the Zbart and the hooker headers I can't find any flaws. The Zbart in the engine bay is aweful. My car came with it and I have tried to remove it without damaging the paint that is underneath and it is really hard. Besides that, this car looks like a keeper. What am I missing here? Ben

Information about a very rare S30?
There is a couple things that I am going to point out. First, it is a home market (JDM) Nissan Fairlady Z. Secondly, Fairlady Z (S30), with the L20 that you mentioned was built from late 69'-73 or 75 (I am not sure here because the S31 came out around 74ish, I think. I will have to be corrected on this.). I would not know where to look to find this car, but some of the UK members probably do. Good luck finding this car. Ben

Home-market S30 Factory Options
I have seen one TRUST setup for sale on ebay before, but that is it. I too have seen these setups for sale in nostalgic hero. I am going to need a exhaust system in the near future and this is the one of my choice, but I am not sure where to look if I were to purchase this. Do you think you could give me some pointers Alan or Eric. It would probably not be for another 4 months until I am ready to purchase, but I would really like to know where and how much I could get a TRUST system with the TRUST header as well. Take care, Ben

Home-market S30 Factory Options
Is 7 a vinyl top? Also, the deck spoiler, #12 on the list, that they show has the two bumps on it. I have seen ones before like that, but there are also ones that don't have the bumps either. Is the deck spoiler with the bumps the earlier version of the spoilers? Were the bumps for style or function? I really like this thread Lachlan. I am sure Enrique will too. I would love to learn as much as I can about these parts. I am sure it is a huge list, and I am sure the Datsun Competition list is even larger. I will post pictures of my Datsun Competition shift knob when I can. Would this be the right place to post it? Take care and keep these threads going. It is invaluble to the people that are interested. I am sure more will get interested as they see it. Ben p.s. I wish I had a lot of these options on my car, but I am going to pass on the vinyl top if that is what it is.

Footrest?
I agree with you Chris. Alan, topics like this and others are probably interesting to more people on this site than you think. I am not dissing you in anyway for what you think others think, I am just saying that you are not alone in your interests here, but sometimes all some of us can do is sit back and see what people have to say on the topics we can't really participate in. As you know, it is not all V8's and bodykits here. It is chrome ring headlight covers, oem footrests, and Z saving. We love the factory options! Take care, Ben :classic:

Watanabe Wheels
I am going all gunmetal. I am just hoping that I can get them color matched to the fronts because there is no way that I am going strip off Watanabe gunmetal paint. At least I hope I don't have to.

This is a 14" by 7J type B Watanabe wheel. The offset is 8mm. I am planning to use 195 by 65 tires up front.

Watanabe Wheels
These are 14" by 7.5J type B RS-Watanabe wheels and there is a 1.5mm offset. They will eventually be going on the rear of my 260z. I am thinking of using a 215 by 60 tire.

Correct Gear Shift Knob
I am not sure about the red plate knobs rusty, but I know they came on the 280's here in the states. There are so many possiblities for these knobs. Everyone is certain of the wood knob for the 240, but when it comes to the 260 there are a lot of parts in transition. My friend Marc has a 75' 280z and his also has the green plate/black knob. I am almost certain that it is original as well. Ben

Correct Gear Shift Knob
I have seen that before too, but the black rubber with the green shift pattern plate is correct as well. In the factory brochure of the early 260z, it had the green shift plate on the black knob. I am not for certain, but I believe that the very early 260z's came with the wood knobs because they still had extras from the 240z's.

Mt. Diablo Fun Run
Thanks Ron and the rest of ZONC for putting this fun run on. I wish more of the Northern Cali people could have made it. Oh well, there is always next time. It was a fun trip though- the sun was out, the Zs' were shiney, and the people were great. Ben
