  1. Here is the cleaned battery area with new cables, tray, frame and rod. Everything is oem except the positive cable. It looks a lot cleaner than it does in the picture.
  2. This Zbarr is some gross stuff, but it probably saved my car from cancer.
  3. This is for a 70-72, but the only difference between the 70-72 and the 73-74 cable is that the 70-72 is 1.5" shorter.

I am really not the guy to ask about on the 5-lug conversions, but there are plenty of people running wheels with 5-lugs. You should ask one of those guys. Coung has a five lug conversion, I think. As far as Watanabe's vs. Panasports, it is really a matter of taste. I like the look of both, but I prefer the look of the Watanabe's. They are a lot harder to find state-side, but they are period correct, well made, and a great looking wheel. Marc (280z) has a 75' Zed with some great looking panansports. Good luck on your Z.

Whoa 240zdragon, those are Hailbrand mags, or they are accurate copies for a Shelby Cobra. Those particular wheels are knock-offs. I am really not sure if they come with bolt patterns, let alone 114.3mm at the hub. They would probably look pretty mean on a Z, but there are other wheels that would look great as well. Why don't you try to find some Watanabe's for that aggressive look that you are going after. They would look great with the 432 Flares that are on your prototype sketch. Some 9j in the rear and some 8j up front, with a phat negative offset, and all gunmetal.:devious: The Watanabe wheels would be very Initial D-ish as well, just for the enthusiast in you. I agree, Initial D is a great anime. I was glued to my comp for a week after buying the whole set of 10 DVD's.
  6. I saw that on ebay last night and I thought it looked great. Hmmm, you are probably right about it going to sell around the 7-10k mark. With just little fixing this could be a stunning car, not that it isn't one already. The only issue I have with buying vintage cars online is that you see the big picture, but you don't see the finer details, like, how good of a paint job did they do? Is there paint on the weather stripping? Is the chrome in good shape, or is there pitting? How does it drive (key point)? JayZ, has the seller sent you high resolution detailed photos of the car? I think it is a great looking car, but I am a little deceived as I love the 920 gold, but I have never actually seen a Zed in this particular color in person. Take care and good luck, Ben

I am glad you guys had a great time. I can't wait to see photos. They are all going to be downloaded to my hard drive. I bet it was an experience that you all will never forget. Ben
  8. Man, I was going to bid on this right at the end, hoping that it would be around 60USD. I was busy at the time so I was not able to get to my computer. Jeez, 104!!! That is crazy. Yeah it is a nice piece, and would be great for a restoration, but how hard would it be to make these, or just make a cloth braided sheath for the rubber hoses? I sure wish Nissan made some of these rare parts.
  9. OMG! WoodZcar, that Z is so clean and gorgeous. I love the simple airdam and those mesh wheels look fantastic. I give you 2 thumbs up. :classic:
  10. Don't be mad at the goat. I think he was a admirer of the Z. He claimed the Z as His territory making it known that if any other goat gets near her, Ms. Fairlady Z herself, then he is going to open a can of whoop.... You know the rest. Take care, Ben:classic: P.S. I would pay for a picture of the goat on top of the Z. :stupid:
  11. You have a very nice car. When your restoration is finished you will really have something unique. I hope that you restore it to its original form or something very close. You said that you still have the original steel wheels and hubcaps. You must have the early caps with the silver octagon in the middle instead of the "D" found on the export cars. If you found some yellow, then your car was probably 920 gold, which is a very nice and unique color. I have never seen a 920 gold Z in person, but I love it in pictures. This is a little off topic, but about a year ago I saw a silver Fairlady Z on ebay that sold for 4500USD. It was a 1969 model as well. I believe it was -00600 something. I wonder where that car is now. It was sold from L.A. California. Good luck with your restoration of the Fairlady Z(S30)!. Ben:classic:

What is the detail like on the Dyosho Z432-R? I have the Fujimi 432-R kit, and everything has lots of detail except the interior. I would like to get one of the Dyosho ones as well.
  13. Awe, the link does not work. I am very excited to see a picture of your car. Ben
  14. The 240z and Fairlady Z cars started production in 1969, but are 1970 model year cars. Whether the Fairlady Z or the 240z came off the production line first is a topic that has been very talked about on this forum. You will probably find your info here. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7801&highlight=production I know there are other places on the forum where this has been talked about or where Kats has posted the production dates of the two. Just look up production dates and you will find what you are looking for. The link that I gave you is quite lengthy, but a great read. I am sure someone will bring this to light. Ben

That star wars Del sol is so nerdy it's cool. Hahaha. I wouldn't drive it though. Only for opening night at the Star Wars movies. I would be so popular.:stupid:
  16. Errr, I called Z barn about the (+) battery cable and the guy said he only sells good used parts, and even then he didn't have a (+) battery cable that was in good condition. I also called my local Nissan dealer, and he acted like he had one, but it wasn't in stock. He called me back and said that he checked the inventory of all the listed Nissan dealers around country and nothing came up. I can see that this is going to be a wild goose chase. I will probably settle for a autoparts store cable . Oh well, I thought it would be cool to have both oem cables. Ben

Amen Gav. When I first accuired my Zed I wanted to do all these mods. About 1-2 months later I wanted to leave it just the way it was. Over a year later, the only mod that I have done is the clock. The rest of the money has gone into maintaining her. Errr, but I sure do love driving her. It is a great feeling that I am sure all you guys know very well. Lachlan, when are you going to get another Zed? When you get out of school? Hehehehe. Ben:classic:

Those tomica cars can get really expensive. I have about ten with boxes and I paid way to much for a few of them. They are quite cute though.

That sounds great Alex! I am not in a rush to get a set of steel wheels, but if I find a deal, then I will go after them. Just tell me when and if you don't need that spare any more and I would be glad to take it off your hands. Ben

I prefer the light configuration that the yellow car has at the top far right of the page. Ben

I see. Alex, I have seen your car in person before when I was at the 2003 Z's by the bay show. The black 240 with the aggressive stance, shaved bumpers, and MR2 seats(?). Now you are going to go rotary. Your car will be pretty wild. Is it going to be turbo charged? What kind of power is it going to make? I guess your car will be a lot lighter with the smaller engine. Good luck with it. Ben

Oh man, those are some beautiful cars there Lachlan. I am a huge fan of the Ferrari F40. I have been in love with that car since childhood. 478 hp on a TTV8, Kevlar body, dual gas tank, no roll up windows(on early models), no radio, no ac, knock off wheels, and a 200+ top speed. This is my kind of car. p.s. I was hoping to see a Stratos, another one of my favorites. Thanks for the link. Ben:classic:

What is this engine in the Z bay Auxillary? P.S. I want that steel wheel under there. Ben

    That poor RX7:cry::sick:
  25. I have pictures and the factory brochure of the early 260 and the hoses are all of the cloth braided type, but they seem a little darker in color than the 240 ones. Would this hose be accurate for my early 260? Ben
