G-nose rear quarter view
Talk about dish. This is a beautiful car. Thank you so much for posting these pictures. I can't tell if those are 15" or 16." They sure are beautiful. These are the wheels for you Gavin; gunmetal spokes with the polished lip. I am loving it. Thanks again, Ben

$5000 for a 1970 240z??
That seems too steep to me. How did it drive? What is the interior condition like? How is the rust going to be repaired? The body does not sound all that great, and 5000 dollars should get you a lot more. They might be asking that price only because it is a 1970 and they think they can get more for it. Maybe someone else can submit their words of wisdom, but from your description I would have to say pass, unless they want to go down in price. Ben

Similarities between 240 and KGC10 Skyline Coupe?
Thank you Lachlan for the link. That is one mean looking KGC10. I love the Longchamps and the Nardi steering wheel.

Engine shot
I wish my engine bay looked this clean. I have been working on it, but it has been an on going cleaning for a year now and it is still not looking the way I would like it. I would like to steam clean it, but I am afraid. Ben

g-nose
This looks like a nice looking g-nosed zed. Do you have anymore pictures of it? If you do, please post them. If not, the pics you have are still great. Thank you, -Ben:)

Blue 2+2
That looks like the original color of my car. Mine was repainted a little darker than original. This looks great. Ben

3 more
This is one nice photo of three nice z's. Your Z is looking good Gav. You should add a rear bumper to your to do list. I am only kidding. Your car is beautifully kept up. Ben

Location of the ZG cars?
You said it pretty well Chris. I am not sure of a ZG outside of Japan besides Alan's, but I am sure there are some. I too would like to know where these cars are. I don't even know how many ZG's were made. How many 240ZG's were produced? Anyone. However, somewhere around 420 Z432's were produced from what I read on a Japanese site, and one supposedly made its way to Australia. I wonder how true this is? I have always been curious if any of these cars are in the US. I am sure there has to be somewhere, but I have never seen them at a show or anything. Maybe they are locked away. hehehe. I hope I find one in a barn someday. Errr, that sounds more like a Chevy story. Okay, a barn in Japan. -Ben:stupid:

last call for joy riders
Wow! You guys are going to have one hell of a trip!!! How many kilometers is the trip going to cover? How many Z's are going on this trip? Guus, I am so envious of you. Your car is going to be right at home. The rally Zcar in a very long European rally. I am sure you will stir up some emotion with fellow enthusiasts if they ever saw a works car in a rally of the period. Take as many pictures as you guys can. Maybe this will inspire the North American folks to have a sight seeing journey in their Z's someday. Grand Canyon anyone??? Hahaha. Enjoy your trip guys. -Ben (I want to go) At least I will get to see pictures:classic: .

Similarities between 240 and KGC10 Skyline Coupe?
Just to clarify on what Lachlan said, the "P" stands for the S20 engine. Thus, KPGC10, KPGC110, and our favs, PS30 and PS30-SB. I followed the link that you posted Cuong, but it did not work. Anyways, I would love to see pics of that GC10 of yours Jeff. I am proud to say that I saw one of these cars up close and personal and it was breath taking. It was a GC10:classic:. -Ben http://www.classicZcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=4803&password=&sort=7&thecat=500

To all that knew James Burgess aka "ZmeFly"
I did not know James on a personal basis, but all the people on the forum here are my penpals and this is tragic what happened to James. I had run into him quite a few times because he had some of the same Z interests as I did and I hope he is in a better place. My thoughts will be with you and your family. Sincerely, Ben Yount

Nice 240Z For Sale
I saw this one on the site that Vicky referred to and I absolutely fell in love with this interior. http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/4/6/70833146.htm -Ben p.s. How rare is a red interior? I don't think I have ever seen one. I would assume finding parts for one would be ridiculous.

Nice 240Z For Sale
I remember seeing this car on ebay before. If this person wants to sell this car they could probably get the price asked for or more if they put different tires on, lighter colored hubcaps, the correct mirror, and the bonnet emblem. It is a very nice car with a few easy to fix discrepancies. I hope I am not being too persnickety. I think I am, oh well. :classic: Take care, Ben

6-slot mags
Hey Victor, I thought my mags were 14 by 6", but I took one off and it read 14 by 5.5j on the reverse side. I thought it was a little skinny myself, but .5" wouldn't make a real difference. I like Pananasport and Watanabe wheels as well, but 16" is just wee big for my taste. However, I did see a beautiful 240 with 16" Panasports. http://www.classicZcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6295&password=&sort=7&thecat=500 -Ben

round shape knobs and square shape knobs
Hey Chris, we all have our own opinions about whether the Zcar was purely designed for export or not, but I honostly believe that the Zcar is a Japanese car with export in mind. Ben

Damn shame....
That is great to hear St. Stephen!! :classic: Gav240z, to answer your question, yes it should have the mesh grill. IMO I am sure the performance is comprimised on the 2/2, and I know of a lot of people don't like the look of the extended roof line, but I learned to love how these cars look from the photos in Brian Long's book, "Fairlady to 280Z." I think an awesome car to build would be a 2/2 ZG replica like the one at the 1973 (Or was it 1974?) Tokyo autoshow, like the one zedrally is building. Anyways, I would like to think of myself as a lover of all zeds, but yes I do prefer the 2 seater. Take care everyone, and don't listen to Gavin.:tapemouth Save this sole of a Zcar!!! Ben:classic: p.s. The upside to this car is that it is a ZL. Thus, it would have the 5-speed gear box, 2-tone deluxe seat covers, the rally clock, and a lot more features that I do not know. Someone enlighten me and the thread. I have only seen one Fairlady Z 2/2 in the flesh and it was in pretty bad shape. The photo is in my gallery.

The originals were made of magnesium.

6-slot mags
If you want to have the wheels Victor has on his extremely clean Z, here they are. They are really nice with the dish look and the only 6-slotted wheels I have seen have been on Victor Laury's car and on the revell 240z model kit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2478320366&category=43954 Ben:classic:

Works racing wheel wanted
Good luck... If you ever find a place to get them, let me know, as someday I too would be interested. -Ben p.s. If you know the right people and are willing to pay A LOT of money, it is not impossible to find. However, I don't think there is a set in existance on these shores (I could be wrong.). So you are going to have to look for a set in Japan. I would have no clue of how to go about this. p.p.s. The manufacturer of the works "rally mag" wheel is Kobe Seiko of Japan. They made all of the rally wheels for the early Zcars. I think there was a short run of replicas of these wheels made out of aluminum, also made by Kobe Seiko, but I am not positive. The originals came in 14 by 6j and 14 by7j. Please, if you find a set of these let me know. I will donate an organ or two for a set of these. :stupid:

Damn shame....
Awe, this poor car. I hope this one finds a nice home and does not end up as just a parts car. It does look rough, but to have a Fairlady Z would be awesome. Someday I am planning to save one of these cars. Please, don't let this one go to the crusher!! What ever happened to the Fairlady Z 2 seater that was the first one on this thread? -Ben

Please help

maybe bitter?
That was hilarious. I wonder if she really is getting rid of her ex's car, or is it just some story to catch the bidder's eyes. Oh well, that was very funny none the less.

Northern Cali meet: yes another one!!
Thats a good idea Carl. I was aware of the show, but thanks for bringing to our attention. Maybe we should save the Blackhawk meet for that time, like Carl said. -Ben
