  1. Okay, Marc and I have come up with a couple of places that are hopefully of interest for a Z meet. 1. Mt. Hamiliton: We could bring lunch, or go out to eat, have a beautiful drive, and possibly do a little hiking. This is located near San Jose. 2. San Francisco: The city is always beautiful. I know some nice car places we could hit up, go to the beach, and have a nice lunch(bring lunch or go out, possibly bbq). 3. Black Hawk Museum: This is a museum with beautiful cars. We could take a nice drive, go to the museum, and have a pleasant lunch. The entry into the museum is pretty reasonable if I remember correctly. It is located in Blackhawk(east bay). If any of these places seem moderately interesting to anyone, please say so. If they all seem like a drag, also say so. I hope that this make it easier. If there is a place that someone thinks is the absolute best place to have a meet, please post it. Take care, Ben
  2. Thanks Carl for the correction. I am slowly getting into the car part lingo. *Master vac Unit or brake booster.* Okay, I just added that to my vocab. Take care, Ben
  3. Hey Craig, I would think that this coming weekend would be too soon for a meet. How is your truck coming along? Hey everyone, How does a meet sound the following weekend? That would be the weekend of the 21st. Lets set a date! What is best for people, the 22nd of May or the 23rd? Post your comments and we can work this out. -Ben:classic:
  4. Well I found something that I thought was interesting. I was looking at my seatbelt tags to get a date on my car and the LH seat belt says 1973 and the RH seat belt says that it was manufactured in 1974. There was no month specified unless I am not looking in the right place. On my spare wheel the topy date is 4/74. On the door jam plate the build date is 5/74. Maybe some one can help me on this one. When were the door jam plates riveted on the car. Was it when the car was fully complete or in the begining of its production? Regards, Ben
  5. Hello Kats, I have been cleaning my engine bay piece by piece and I noticed that the master cylinder bell housing is made by Jidoshakiki. The actual master cylinder and the caps for the brake fluid are made by Tokico, Japan. This may be different for a 240 as I am looking at the parts on my 260. Here is a picture of the label on the bell housing of the master cylinder. -Ben:classic:
  6. From my understanding there would be S30-00026, HS30-00026, PS30-00026, and your majesty HLS30-00026. Would There be an HS30-00026 for each export car? IE; uk HS30-00026, AUS HS30-00026, home HS30-00026, etc.? I will come back to this thread later. I do know that the topy date on my spare is 4/74 and on door sill plate it states a production date of 5/74. I will look at the belts later. I love this thread already:classic: -Ben
  7. You can't forget the GT3. I hope that Porsche continues the GT3 because it is a serious naturally asperated lightweight racing machine. :devious: Ben
  8. Sometimes change is too much of a bad thing. Subtle differences are nice. Hopefully all of the change is under the hood. Would it be the boot? jk... I am disappointed with their suv attempt. I see those peppers all over town. I guess it is better than the alternative suvs', but it is still disappointing. It may be fast, but it is not a sports car!!! It seems as if people accept these cayenne things more than non-911 cars. I hope I am wrong. I wonder how they are selling? -Ben
  9. I like the circular headlamps that this 997 has. It really looks more like the 993. The 996 cars are very nice looking, especially the Carrera 4s', but this car looks like a good successor as far as style. Now all we need to see is the 997 GT2. p.s. Porsche is coming out with a Boxster coupe. That should be popular among the autocross audience. I really do like porsches, my dad used to have a 944. It was a great car, and nothing of the half wit Porsche that purists thought.
  10. I will see what the voltage is. It makes the buzz when the car is turned off with no lights on. I didn't turn the lights on to check the sound changed. It didn't sound like boiling, just a very faint buzzing noise. I will keep you guys posted. Thanks for the input. -Ben
  11. Thank you Carl. I will not make the mistake again. I just remember seeing pictures of him during the BRE years. Thank you for the picture Steve.

  13. Hey, I have that Revell BRE 240z kit, and it is still unopened. Now I want to go to the Monterey Historics to get John Morton to sign it. That is John Morton right? I am ashamed, I do not know how he looks.

That Z432-R is beautiful. I especially like the Kobe Seiko Works rally wheels. They look like the 7j wide ones too. I have seen a model of this car before offered by Fujimi. Very nice Kats, thank you for the photos. I am going to add these pics of the car and the mustache bars to my archive. I look forward to seeing you and your car at the Z convention this year too. Take care for now, Ben

Those look beautiful. I personally like the 3rd shift knob. It would be neat if you made one that was exactly like the original and used the chrome fitting and put the 4-speed template on top. Then you would just have to figure out how to make the steering wheel with a burle wood handle. Anyways, those are really beautiful. -Ben
  16. I have been religously cleaning my engine bay today, but I was trying to make sure that no water or cleaning solution got near the battery and its associated wires. Maybe it has always been there, but the battery is making this very quite buzzing sound. Does anyone know what this phenomenon is? The battery is only 3 years old, and there is plenty of juice going through the wires. Hmm, I have noticed a slight increase in amps according to the gauge. What is up with my battery? Thank you in advance, Ben

I knew that was an s800. Thanks for the picture Lachlan. To bad it flipped, but it is a good thing it was a hardtop. These rallies look like a lot of fun. Some one should take their Zed on the Pikes Peak rally in Colorado. That would be nuts. Ben

I was born in San Franciso, but I have lived in Fremont since I was 5 years old. Now I live in Stockton where I attend University. It is hot and humid here right now. I am going back to my parents house this weekend. It is still hot in Fremont because we live by the hills, but at night the temperature is perfect in the summer; not too warm and not too cool. I still drive to San Francisco about 1-2 times a month because it is a great city. The food, the ocean, the sites, the shows; suberb. Ben
  19. Hello Zlishous, I don't know when and where the meet will be. We are still waiting for a reply from Craig. If it works out, this meet will probably be on the coast and around Santa Cruz. Hopefully this weekend we will have all the details. Hey Craig, have you talked to the guy at Z zone? That would be cool if we had a bbq there; I want to see those rental Z's. I agree with you Zlishous, Point Reyes is nice. A drive along highway one would make a nice drive. I am sure that we will keep this up and take a drive there. So who is interested in having a meet? 280z, blitzkraig, zlishous, ares240z, and myself? Anyone else? Ben:classic:

Those poor cars. They look like they have been badly abused. Was that over turned white car an old Toyota S800? Is that the right name? The little 2 cylinder roadster is the car I am thinking of. Ben

They were shaking in their pants.... No no don't over take me again Mr. Zcar.*earth to Ben* Rivals of the Z...hmm... Back in the day a ton of sports cars were the Z's rival. Nowadays, I don't see other cars as rivals, but as other classic cars. I am thinking of the tr6's, early 911's... I can't think of anymore, but there are a ton more. Classic cars are great:love: . Ben

  24. This is great to hear Carl. Maybe you can hit us up on that meet. :classic: Way to go Craig.
  25. Hello, a lot of the parts will transfer from right hand drive to left hand drive, but exhausts are what you have to watch out for. A lot of exhaust systems for RHD cars will not work with the LHD cars without modifications. I agree with you, the Japanese parts are very cool. RS Start has a lot of parts for the S20 engine, so unless you have one they are not going to fit on your L-series. You should list the parts that you are thinking of getting for your car and more members of the forum and I can give you a little better idea of what will and won't work on your car. I can tell you that almost all the parts are interchangeable though, so you can have one JDM LHD S30. Take care and good luck on the parts, Ben
