oeps, we did it again we drove a rally!
Hi Guus, your car looks great. I saw that picture in the gallery and it looks like a works car!!! There is some awesome cars in that race too. Some rare ones, the turbo 2002 and the fulva. I especially like the mini. I have a soft spot for those. Not as soft a spot as for the Z's. If only there were rallies like that here in the states. Sigh. My car could still not do it. hehehehe. Take care, and post more pics of your beautiful Z. -Ben:classic:

March 27th Meet? Northern California. East Bay Area.
Hi Ben, sorry that you couldn't make it to the meet on the 21st. I wish I could make on the 27th, but I have exams that following week. Hmm, do you have any people going to your meet yet? If you don't get anybody, maybe we could plan for a date in the near future for another meet. Just pm me about it. I was going to try and see if there could be a meet a month if peoples schedule's permit. Take care, Ben too

Hey everyone, that was a great meet. The weather was great on Mt. Diablo and the drive was even better. Oh and Carl, we did not hit any bikers. I hope we have another meet in the near future and maybe more people will be inspired to go. -Ben:classic: p.s. picture. from right to left, my car, Marc's car(280z), Charlie's (stryder), Marc's friends car, and Canton's (z_boi).

Welcome to the forum prince. Skylines are welcome here. Alan, I had to do a double take there. I like 'Little Red Corvette.'

Hmm, how rough does your car run at idle? Is it going down in rpm's and then up, or do you have to give it gas at idle? I am not a mechanic, but my car runs at idle a little rough too. If it is a hot day my car runs pretty good at idle though. By the way, what is your rpm at idle Canton? -Ben

Vapour Lock Definition
I just went on a drive and the car drove fine. I didn't go on a long one, but the weather was hot, I went up hills on the freeway, got on the gas some, and drove it around town in traffic. I am hoping that it is the gas filter like 2manyzs said. The car felt like it had a lot of power, but if it was the gas filter, why did it all of a sudden start doing this? The only time that the car would get bogged down was in the heat, on the freeway, and usually uphill. I would think that is when I need the most fuel. I am going on a drive with some guys from the forum tomorrow. that will be the true test. Thanks for everyones comments. -Ben

Hmmm... Well I replaced the gas filter and there was a bunch of rust in it. It is wierd because when I first got the car in 99 it sat for awhile and I had the filament and rust removed from the tank. Now it is there again. Also, the diaphragm in the gas pump is sucking in air with the gas. I took it on a drive yesterday and it did not have the problem, but it did feel a little shakey. As regards to gas, I go to this generic place all the time just to support a small business near my home. I am going to start using brand name gas from now on. I will keep you guys posted on how the car is running. -Ben

Thank you so much guys. Now I know why my car has been broncoing in the heat. I thought it was vapor lock, but you verified my claim. Now I have to insulate my hoses or get a heat shield to cover my exhaust manifold. Any suggestions? The only wierd thing is that my car just started doing this. I had driven it in the heat before with no problem until now. It was 88 degrees F both times when my car got vapor lock. Any more suggestions why it would all of a sudden happen now and not before? Thanks ahead of time, Ben

Thanks Enrique, I will have to try that stuff. I am using this gloss sealer called Master Formula. Has anyone heard of it? Thanks, Ben

polishing wheels...suggestions please
It took me so long because I started with 320. If I just started with 220 and went up through the grits it would have been a lot quicker. However, I am really happy with my one wheel. You are right Enrique, I should have done everything little by little, but I was thinking it was going to be 3 hours per wheel. The next thing I am going to do before polishing the whole wheel is polish out the slots and then one by one polish the wheels. The pictures don't give the wheel justice. The wheel is so much smoother(as it should be). -Ben

body differences question
The reason why those two cars look so different is because the 260 is a 2/2 and the 240z is a 2 seater. My avator is a picture of a 2 seater 260. Welcome to the forum and good luck on finding a 240. Ben

Do i want a Roadster??
Hey now, nobody is hacking the top off my 260. Leave the 260's alone because they always get picked on. Besides, there are a lot more 240's out there so it would be better to make a 240 spyder instead of a 260 spyder. BenROFL

This one is just for fun. I think this is the first time the spare was on this car. I am very proud, it is a 175HR14 Bridgestone.

This is a very tedious task. It took me about 6 hours to polish one wheel with different grits of sandpaper. I started with 320. It did the job and took out all of the small nicks and scratches, but it took a lot of elboe grease. I went through the grits finally to 600. I used Master formula aluminum polish, and then some gloss sealer. I am undecided if it was worth all of the time. I can see a difference in the wheels, but man 6 hours! Here is a pic of a finished wheel.
