Hello everyone, That is too bad that you can't go Craig. I am sure that there will be another meet in the near future. Okay, here is the directions. http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=oYYXW.p_0TrH3g0Xw0TjPwaQYY8wfA--&csz=Danville%2C+CA+94526&country=us&mag=8&name=Mt+Diablo+National+Bank&desc=%28925%29+743-9200 Where do you guys want to meet before driving up Mt. Diablo? I was thinking afterwards we could get a cheap lunch somewhere. Anyways, I am getting excited. Talk to you soon, -Ben

Okay everyone, 280z and I are setting up a meet on sunday the 21st of this month(march). We have the date now we need to see who else is interested and able to meet. We were thinking of a drive on mt. diablo(danville). We are open for suggestions if you have a better place, but I think this would be an awesome drive if the weather permits. I know it would be a little far for some people so post your comments. Lets see who can meet. Post here!!! Tell your Z buds too!!! This would be cool if we could have a meet once a month(optomistic thinking). -Ben

I don't want to admit that I like this since I classify myself pretty much as a Z purist, but the z looks pretty cool in convertible form. Make sure you post pics if you do this to your car. I think it would be really cool to make a z that is otherwise completely stock except the chopped top. It would look as if the Z came as a spyder as well as a gt coupe. here is a link. http://www.zparts.com/ads/zspider/zspider_index1.html Take care and good luck with this jhw227, Ben

I'll keep you posted stryder. -Ben
  5. I am pretty sure you are right Alfa as I have never seen one of these with an S20. I was asking dhoneycutt if his was a GTR. I am a skyline newbie, so I don't know a whole lot about them. I am still trying to learn about the Z. Hehehehe. -Ben
  6. Whas it a GTR?
  7. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6472&item=2464795902 I saw this. Quite interesting and rare on these shores. -Ben

s130 with 16 inch wats. I can't attach pictures for some reason. Go to this site and scroll to s130. http://www.rs-watanabe.co.jp/index2.htm

There are not many old jdm wheel options in 16 inch as you mentioned. hehehe, your best bet for 16 inch jdm wheels with no spacers would be watanabe's. I know you are not into those, but maybe you will like these photos. I really like the flower wheels, ssr reverse mesh too. You would have a better chance if you went for a 15 inch. I am glad there are people like you and me and many of the people on this forum that like jdm wheels. Even if it is not a option part, they are still awesome and true to the cars for period correctness and cooool factor. However, I am not saying that there is anything wrong with american wheels or their period correctness. The mags on my car now are american and they are right from the dealer in 1974. It doesnt get much more period correct than that. They look good too!! MHO Anyways, I hope this helps Yuppie. You got to admit that these s130's look pretty good sporting the Watanabe's. Regards, Ben p.s. awe, no more 432:cry:

Yuppie, you really have a grudge against Watanabe wheels. Well I am sorry, but a lot of us like these wheels. They are the mags for the Z of Japan. The great thing about these wheels that make them so correct for the period and for a Z is that the 14" Watanabe's with various widthes were on the sports parts option list offered by Nissan. Take care, Ben P.S. I am never going to post again so I can keep this post number forever. HeheheheLOL LOL. In the future people will not get this so, 432 baby!!!
  14. I am planning to use a drill for the buffing with the wheels after sanding. Is this going to be adequate because I do not have a bench grinder? Thanks civ104 for the eastwood link, if I don't have to get a bench grinder I am going to buy the 13105 kit. http://eastwood.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=13105&Dep_Key1= Thanks for all your guys help, Ben:classic:

That looks great Guus. What size tires are those? I am very jealous by the way. Now there is a little watanabe club on the forum and I think there is only 4 of you with Z's that have Watanabes. Take care and make sure you have wheel locks. People might break into your garage. hehehehe. I guess not. -Ben

I can't make it on that date. By the way, I am from Fremont, but I go to school in Stockton. What dates are people free? If we figure this out then we can decide on the date of the meet and then decide on a place. How does the weekend of the 12th, 19th, or 26th sound? Anyways, lets try to decide on one of those weekends, I think saturdays or sundays is best for people, but list off the dates you would be availible for a meet this month. I am free the 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th, and 28th. If we get a large number of an overlap then we can pick that day. I don't want to exclude anyone so fire away on those dates, and if you can't make any of those put what date you could make. Take care, Ben

I don't know if this is going to help you, but here is a picture of an exhaust system for a Z styled after the 432 type made by TRUST. Whether it is true to the 432's I am not sure. Alan would know for sure. I have no clue if it would be accurate or not, but you could have 2manyzs take a photo of the undercarriage of his kyosho z432-r. Hehehe. Just a thought. Good luck on finding that 432 set up. That would be awesome if you did that for your Z. -Ben:classic:

Hello everyone. I know we all have different schedules, but I was thinking of having a meet small or large between the dates of the 13th and the 20th of this month. If anyone is interested please post. I am not sure what we would do, but suggestions would be great. Maybe a drive on the coast or just a gathering. PLEASE POST!!! A meet would be awesome. My Z goal is to someday have a gathering once a month, but for right now one would be good. p.s. I don't think there would be a problem with a zx coming. As long as they are interested in old Z's. We can convert him. I look forward to seeing everyone's Z's, Ben

  21. Please please please do not do put those wheels on your 260. Your car looks great with the original steel wheels and trims. Hardly anyone has them. THe saab wheels are way to off the wall for the Z. Just my thoughts. -Ben
  22. Hmmmm... I am wondering if sanding and then using the cheapo kit from MSA would give me the results I am looking for. Does anyone think that polishing kit from MSA would do the trick? The one kit from eastwood looks good, but a little high on price. Thanks for all of your suggestions. -Ben
  23. v12horse replied to dj240z's post in a topic in Body & Paint
The headlight scoops, doors, hood, hatch from a 280z should fit on a 240z no problem and vise versa. The cars have the same body, but with some minor differences like the bumpers, vents on the hood of the 280, etc. However the front valence and bumpers on the 280 will not fit your 240. I hope that helped. Take care, Ben

I am not sure on what wheels to get, but Panasport has a lot of light wieght wheels for racing applications. I personally like the 14 by 7J panasports with a zero offset. check here: http://www.zparts.com/ads/wheels/ads/wfs-33.html They may be a little expensive with the shipping, but if they had no cracks and were refinished they would be a great buy. Welcome to the forum! The people here are great. They know everything about Z's. I would like to be sick like many of them someday. -Ben
  25. Hello everyone, I am planning to polish my mags in a few weeks, but first I wanted to get a complete agenda ready on what I am going to do. Here is my list so far: 1. Take wheel off. 2. Clean with degreaser, back and front. 3. Wash wheel with hot soapy water using a non-scratching stiff bristle brush. 4. Thoroughly dry. 5. Start sanding with 80 grit to get the curb rash out of 2 wheels. I did not rub up against a curb, the previous owner did. (One wheel will not be perfect because it has some very bad curbrash, but I think I can still get it to look real nice. It is unfortunate about the one wheel though. Oh well.) 6. Sand with 100, 180, 220, 400, 600, 1000, and finally 1500. I am going to do as much wet sanding as possible. The 1000 and and the 1500 grit are going to be harder to find. 7. Then I was thinking of getting a good polishing kit. Is this a good one? http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=80-8204 Use the wheels of the polishing kit with the right abrasives with my electric drill. 8. Now I will use a dremel with a polishing cone to get where the drill with the wheel could not. 9. wash thoroughly again with hot soapy water and scrub with plastic non-scrating brush. 10. Dry with cotten cloth. 11. Mount and look in awe of my now seen reflection in the wheel:D 12. repeat three more times. errrr If there is anything that you think should be added, deleted or types of polishing kit/ materials I should buy for this project please post here. I hope this was not a bore or a repeat of the thread on how to polish a valve cover, but I want to show the start to finish of polishing wheels the right way with all the materials needed so it can be used for future reference for others. Like I said, I will not be starting for a few weeks, but I want to get everything together so when my spring break comes I can jump into this project with the materials and knowledge on how it is done. Thanks in advance. -Ben :classic:
