Here is a pic of my rally clock. It is from a 74 and later first gen. Fairlady Z. As you can see, it is a little different than the one that was on ebay. Mine is called a calender clock. There is no stopwatch function, or the need for a oscillating box, but it has the date, thus the "calender clock." I love the rally clocks myself, I don't know why all Z's didn't get them. I think the Japanese wanted to be special. :classic: Regards, Ben http://www.classicZcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=3771&password=&sort=7&thecat=500

  3. Does anyone know exactly what car this came on? It looks like a variation of a handle found on a Z. Thanks
  4. I don't know if this will help, but I had the same question. I have a 260 with a cream interior and the armrests were black. As far as I can tell that is original. Whar year is your 280? I think the later years had the matching armrest color and interior color. I am not sure though. Good luck. -Ben
  5. Here is a pic of my garage door(just a glimpse) and my Z. I can't say it is my house anyway, I still live with my parents. Hey Zvoiture, I think I saw your car today. It was very early in the morning and I was on Highway 101 going north, you were going south(if it was you). There was a red 240 behind you. Then, when I was on my way back from Hearst castle i saw your car on 101 again. Was that you? Anyways, I love to see Z's out and about. I hardly ever see any first generation ones. Take care. Nice thread. -Ben

This sounds like an amazing trip you have planned Guus. I would love to go, but I as you can see under my aviator, I live a ways away. Plus I don't think my car would make it. I would love to see some pics of this spectacle though. Oh and Guus, I have not forgotten about scanning that picture for you. When I am not so swamped with work I will send it to you. I shouldn't even be on this forum. I tell myself that I am only going to be on it for 20 minutes, then it turns into an hour. Okay, I am definately going to keep an eye on this thread. Take care everyone. Regards, Ben

Panasports are easy to find here too. If you go on the MSA site they sell them new in most sizes. I don't know if they give you the choice of offets though. They are nice, but I would recommend that you go with the Watanabe's if you want an 8-spoke style wheel. I think they look the best and they are definately the most period correct. In Japan during the seventies, everyone sported Wat's on their Z. If you went that route, the best advice I could give you is to search on ebay for a while and a set will come up. They might not be in the best shape, but you can restore them. Good luck. http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc? Just type in Panasport for search Regards, Ben
  8. Thanks a lot for the vote! Yes I was at MSA and I won first in the oem 260z class. I was so shocked because there are so many little(and big) imperfections on my car. It was a great honor to win though. I saw your car there too. It was parked next to Mr. K's if I am not mistaken? I wasn't sure if that one was yours at the time, but I remember the color of your car. Are the mags on your car from the dealer? I have never seen them with the extra slot before I saw your car. Anyways, take care, and I love how your car looks with the headlight covers. Regards, Ben

  11. Thanks for the compliment Victor,:classic: . I know the the early 260 bumpers are not as small as the 240z ones, but they still look pretty good and would be fitted on a early 260 2/2. I am not sure about the Canadian version though. They may not have had to go with the bigger bumpers. Anyways, look at my pic. I was thinking about fitting 240 bumpers on my car, but I decided to leave it original since it is pretty rare to see an all original early 260. Good luck. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6303&password=&sort=7&thecat=500 Regards, Ben
  12. There is no 240z 2/2. Yes the 260z 2/2 and the 280z 2/2 have the same roofline.
  13. I don't own a 2/2, but I have a 260 and I love it. I also think the dash is quite nice too. Of course I cannot compare because I have never driven a 240z. Here is a pic of my interior. Also, I think that the early 260 2/2 is sleeker than most 2/2's because the bumpers are smaller than the later model and the 280. The other thing is, you can always take those old emission friendly su's off and put on 72' su's like I did. Good luck on the car. Personally, I think the 2/2 looks great. -Ben http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6301&password=&sort=7&thecat=500
  14. I am interested too, and I would love to see some pics as well. Thank you. -Ben

  19. All those parts look so awesome. I would love to see a Z with those parts. It would be so much lighter too. Even lighter with perplex windows. The Z would fly. I still want to see those carbon fiber ZG flares. Then the car would be complete.
  20. Z-point, with those words said you have inspired me to find some headlight covers. 2manyZs, I think that is a great idea about spotwelding the nuts for easy removal. I was looking at my buckets and they are steel for sure. PrOxLaMuS, post those pictures of your car with the light covers. We want to see. Take care everyone. -Ben
  21. I will answer my own question. I don't think it is possible unless I removed the shocks in the front, but this would be incredibly stupid because that is what is holding the bumper on! Darn, I really wanted to do this swap. It would be better just to get 240 bumpers. It's not that important. The stock bumpers still look good. -Ben:classic:
  22. I don't know exactly what they are, but I think it would be safe to say that they are Minilite's or Minilite style wheels. You can scratch Watanabe off your list. Good luck. -Ben
