240z bumper guards on a early 260z
I would like to take the big rubber bumper gaurds off my early 260 and not have gaurds at all but I don't like the look of the holes on the top. So I would like to put the 240z bumper guards on in place of the ones I have now. Would this work without modification to the guards? Has anyone done this swap before? -Ben

'71 240Z with 15x7 Revolution Wheels 1 of 2
I am late on the compliment, but that is beautiful. I love the revolution rims. I did not know they came in 15''. It definately looks period correct. The wheels I am planning to get for my Z will definately have a dish. -Ben

Longchamps XR-4 15'' on ebay
These are some nice looking wheels. I don't know about the price though. I didn't like them when I first saw them, but they have grown on me. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43955&item=2433415270 Here is a pic of a sweet looking Z sporting these wheels. I think the ones in the pic are 14''. I am not 100%, but 98% anyway. http://www.classicZcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=4821&password=&sort=7&thecat=500 -Ben

why dont z's get carbon fiber?
I saw this on the net the other day. It would look out of whack on my car since it is almost dead stock, but it would look awesome on a rb-powered z or any modded one. I would like to see one of you guys buy one. That would be awesome. Something that I think would be even more awesome is matching carbon fiber ZG flares. I haven't looked into it, but has that been done? :classic: p.s. Just go to 240z and scroll down. Cann't miss it. CARBON FIBER HOOD! hehehe. -Ben http://www.classicdatsun.com/

Opinions on those Clear Headlight Covers... for an Z
I must say that this has been an interesting thread to read. It makes this forum have that much more of a family/friends feeling. I love it. Okay, I think the look of the clear headlight covers are awesome on Z's. The covers that I am interested are the ones with the chrome ring. Z-point, you mentioned that they look good on dark colored cars. Does anyone think they would look out of place on my car since it is a light colored car? Thanks a lot. When I get the time I am going to take them off of my car. I think it makes the car look so much cleaner. -Ben

interesting rally photo of 240z
The more I am looking at this car Mr. Camouflage, the more I think it is a UK Z because of the turn signals the way they are. It does however have works options. Here is a picture of what looks to be the same car in the 1973 RAC. Regards, Ben

My '74 260Z
That is a very sharp looking 260. Are those the stock early style bumpers with the rubber over-riders removed? It looks great. Regards, Ben

all hooked up..
That is a beautiful Z. My car is also 305 Grand Prix Light Blue Metallic. Is this car a 260 or a 280? Either way it is beautiful. If it is a 260 we may have of the only 2 305 blue one's on the forum. The wheels are very rare. Leave this one stock. Regards, Ben

Turbo on a carberated engine?
I have heard that using a 280et engine and taking the turbo off is not good for performance. The pistons are also not flat on the 280et engine. Is this because of compression? Thanks, Ben

Fairlady Z 432
I would be just like the guy behind the car in the chair. Stairing at this car all day. HEhehehehehe:)

Fairlady Z 432 - Fairlady Z (33) in background
I would also think that it would have a compe handle and not a wood one? Nice work on taking extensive pics of this car. It is most appreciated.

interesting rally photo of 240z
Mr. Camouflage, That is a nice pic. Is that a works car or a 240 with works options? It has the light bar and the factory works wheels. Beautiful either way. I like to see them in action. Hehehehe. Any info would be great. -Ben

interesting rally photo of 240z
Thanks. He is the one that told me to ask you. Hahaha. It is a very interesting car. Were there many private entrants that were competitive at the same time the works cars were rallying? -Ben

240z RB26 Gnose.
That is one nice Z. Out here in the states I have never seen a conversion like that. I am sure they exist though. Many of the Z's that have rb's that I have read about are usually in Australia. Does anyone know why this is? Are there that many Skylines there to support these engines. Anyways, beautiful car. I too would love to see it while I am in my 260. Hehehehe. -Ben

early 260z and want to change to 240 bumpers
i have a early 260z. I am thinking about swapping the bumpers for some early 240z bumpers. Has anyone done this conversion before? How much work would it be? Would it look good? I want to do this because my bumpers are small, but not as small as the 70-72 240's and I want to put the Nismo mesh grill off a fairlady Z on my car. Is there another way to be able to put that grill on without changing the bumpers? I would have to remove the bumper shock absorbers for sure. Any info would be great. Thanks so much, Ben

g-nose years
To say that the g-nose was on an s30 is a little incorrect because the s30's came with a 2 ltr engine. As far as body style, yes it is a S30. This whole site is about the s30, which includes all first generation Zcars. To be a little more correct it could be considered to be on a HS30, which has a 2.4ltr, but the 240zg is the name of the so-called HS30 with the g-nose and was an actual model offered by Nissan. To be exact, the chassis type for the 240ZG is HS30-H, but the vin# will say HS30-, not HS30-H-. The 240zg was built from October 1971 to September 1973. But it was considered a 1972-1973. I believe that Nissan did offer the g-nose as a sports option though, but I am not 100% on that one. To really get more information about this I would talk to Alan(HS30-H), since he owns one and is a Z afficionado(I cannot spell). The figures came from "Fairlady to 280z", by Brian Long. I hope I helped. The 240ZG is a very beautiful piece of Nissan history. I do not know of an original 240ZG in the states, but hopefully I will bring one back someday. Hehehehehe. I am such a dreamer. FYI the Mr. K Z has a genuine g-nose, but it is not a 240zg. -Ben

interesting rally photo of 240z
I found this on ebay and I don't really think the person selling this photo knows what they are talking about because they do not mention that it is a Z. I was just wondering if anyone knew what rally this was and if there was any history on this car. Great looking rally Z though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3241160502&category=14893&rd=1 Regards, Ben

N42 Head Port Side
I was just curious. What is the difference between the n42 head and the e33? What head is standard for a 240, 260? Sorry for the newbie questions. Thank you. -Ben

Konig Rewinds
Hello everyone, We should turn this into the Fairlady Z grill thread. Hehehehhe. 2manyzs, did you order that grill from the nismo website? Are the holes for mounting the same as the US spec grill? Thank you. It is really a beautiful grill.

Konig Rewinds
Hello everyone, Hey 2manyzs. You were saying how non-rare and non-expensive the mesh grills are. I would love to find one for my car. I would be willing to pay 100-175USD if you knew where I could get one or if you could point me in the right direction. Thank you. p.s. I don't think the wheels look that bad either, but I think they might look a little better without the caps, no white lettering on the tires, and a little lower stance. Just my opinion. -Ben

Konig Rewinds
Well, I have always been curious to see how the rewinds would look on a Z. I am not too impressed. I thought they would look better. They still look good, but not as good as panasport or watanabe in my opinion. This is an awesome car from what it sounds like though. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2430765724&indexURL=0&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting It is also a 260. Yeah. I would like to put those bumpers and that grill on my car. Hehehehe. Enjoy. -Ben

Last moments with the Z
I know. I was joking a little there. I just remember you saying that you wanted some 16's. Hehehehe. Me too, but I hear what you are saying about way too expensive. They sure look damn nice though. Take care. -Ben P.S. 14'' wats are just fine. Perfect actually. Any bigger and the Z or sky looks a little too modern and less nostalgic Japanese. 15'' might be good.
