  1. I voted for bone stock 260z, but it is not quite "bone" stock, but I would definately not consider it modified. I have bullet mirrors (will eventually replace with diff mirrors), cd player (the original tape deck is in my room and I am planning to fit it before the summer is over), 72 su's, a non-stock steering wheel and gear knob, and a rally clock. I want it to appear stock for the most part, but with a few goodies . -Ben

Thanks Lachlan for the photos. You took some great shots. I bet your car was a hit there. I would love to see photos of it. I guess you are waiting for a big moment for that eh. Thanks again, Ben

I totally agree with you on this one. You said it very well. For me, the more interested I get in these cars, the more I appreciate all of them. I may favor specific models, but I love finding out the similarities and differences between all s30 models. -Ben p.s. Alan, I thought you were from London, England.

Joshua, I did see your car in superstreet magazine and you did a great job. If anyone does not know about his Z, it is an old school JDM inspired LHD 73' 240z. I really don't like posting things that I don't like about another person's car and although your car is not exactly how I would build my own, it is very close. You didn't stray away from originality too much and all of the modifications that you performed looked great. The dark colored carbon fiber hood and decklid spoiler give off a nice twist of modern engineering meeting old school cool. What popped out so much to me about your car was its stance. The wheels and tires look like a perfect fit with your ZG flares. Not many people have dialed in their wheel/tire combo to fit that well with the 432/ZG flares. You should scan the article here. People would love your car. I am glad you kept your car traditional. So many people are doing SR, RB, and V8 mods that may be cool and very technologically interesting, but do not add to the rich history of the Z it its true form. Congrats on a building a great Z Joshua. -Ben
  13. What was Maybach? Were they a seperate entity before Mercedes Benz came a long? I really didn't mean to sound like a jerk with my correction on MINI. I was just trying to be helpful. I should have been nicer about it. I like your pun...I get it now. -Ben
  14. Congrats on finishing the car. How does it drive? Now lets see some videos with sound. great work!!! -Ben
  15. BMW brought the MINI back.
  16. Lachlan, I also feel that the Z8 is one of the most beautiful modern cars. That is too bad that the Z8 cann't be registered down under. The E60 is going to be crazy. I saw a review of Tiff driving it and he loved it. It is the all around car; performance, family wagon, and daily driver. There seems to be quite the fiasco about the cars here in the states as far as mark ups go. I have read that many people have put money down in advance to get one, but a few dealers are refunding people their money so they can charge THEIR price, and not the MSRP. It is quite sad. None the less, it is going to be a stormer as you say. -Ben
  17. Those are really big tires that are on the car now, I think the wheels have a minus offset but I am not 100% sure on that. What size tires are on the wheels now? I wouldn't go any bigger than what you have. Right now I have a set of Kumho's touring tires on my car and I like them. They are comfortable, have good performance in the rain, but I have not fully tested them in the dry to tell you if they are good performers. Ben
  18. Here are some more pictures. Cars in attendance: -E30 (first generation M3) -E36(second generation M3) -E46(third and newest M3) -E39(third and latest M5. The fourth generation E60 is going to be sold in the states later this fall.) -Z8 -M roadster
  19. Hello everyone. I try not to clutter the forum with non-Z related material, but if anyone is interested in BMW's here are some pics. This was a meet put together by a few members of the BMW M5 (E39) forum and my girlfriend insisted that I go as she is a M enthusiast and she could not make it due to finals. I was happy to go and be the photographer for her as I have a love for way too many cars. Just to name a few of the very special cars here amoung all special cars were a Hartge supercharged Z8, a racing inspired M3 (E30- first generation M3), the only factory yellow M5 in the USA (courtesy of BMW individual), and a slough of beautiful cars. If anyone is a die hard fan of these cars, I took 74 pictures and I can send you a CD. Carl (bambikiller240) was there on hand to see the only 260z in the gathering (mine). It was a lot of fun. I hope this is not too off topic. Enjoy, Ben p.s. The first generation M3's sounded mean. I want my car to have a bark!! Soon!!
  20. There is the performace Yokohama tire (not sure of the name) that has steel reinforced side walls and it comes in 205 by 60. I have heard that they are great tires and they don't cost a whole lot either. What is the offset of your wheels?
