Those are Watanabe's. I am not sure of the size, but they look like the 15 by 7 with the +15mm offset. This is a nice car S30ZT. The wheels are beauts. S30ZT, how is the clearence on the Watanabe's? Is your suspension stock? What size tires are you running? Do you have another pair for the front? How do those fit? Sorry for all of the questions, but there are hardly any Z's in the states with Watanabe's that don't have flares and I am just trying to get an idea of fitment. I have 14 by 7j Watanabe's with a +8mm for the front and I am worried about what size tire I can use. I want to use 60 by 215, but I am worried about the rub. Take care and thanks in advance, Ben

"Style" question
I am with you Alfa on opting not to opt for a front spoiler. I think they look good with or without them. I will not put one one my car, as there are very few factory front spoilers out there. The car can still look mean and low without the airdam. IMHO.

This is a great looking Celica. I have become very fond of these cars. This one looks like it is nice original condtion too. Now all it need is the DOHC engine and a set of grey Watanabe's. HEehehe. Nice car. Ben

"Style" question
keep it simple. I like em with no vents. I am a bit "old school" too. I think they look good painted gunmetal grey as well, but that is me. They look good body color as well. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=11436&sort=1&size=medium&cat=500&page=4 http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=11556&sort=1&cat=500&page=3 http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=11421&sort=1&cat=500&page=5 Ben

Home-market HS30 options
In some pictures they are black, but in other pictures they are silver. Hmm. were they black because a lot of the ZG was darker like the bumpers front lower valence, and over-fenders, etc? Maybe I will paint my wipers now. hehehe, maybe not. Were the headlight covers a later option because in the first list that you posted it did not have them as an option? This is kind of a dumb question, but I just remember the picture of the 920 gold PS30 at the 1969 Tokyo auto Salon and it had the headlight covers. Ben

BRE 510 Aug.21, 04
This is a great car. Where did you take these pictures? Didn't someone find an original BRE 510 that was blue and white some years ago that was under a tarp in someones backyard or other? John Morton gave me some great info on the Baja 3000 510's. I will have to share it sometime. Take care and keep posting pictures of these vintage racers- Datsun or not. I really appreciate the pictures you post. I am sure many of us do. Take care, Ben

I was talking with another guy and he said that the old type had nothing stamped on the front, even if they are Mg. He also said that magnesium wheels could be type B or R. Thanks Eric. Anyways, on another note, I thought the type B wheels had a more negative offset than the type A's, but according to the RS-Watanabe site the Type A is more negative. This something Lachlan and I were puzzled about. Eric, your wheels are very nice. I have seen them in person. Take care, Ben

You had a nice turnout Gav. It looks like a nice group of Z's along the Australian coast there. Take care, Ben

Home-market HS30 options
This is very interesting. Were most (all) these options availible in the Datsun Competition parts catalogue in N.A. or is it totally different? Kats was telling me about the leather knob a while ago and he said it was very rare. What does the leather knob look like? Alan, did your ZG have the dual exhaust fitted when you bought it? Was this a common option to purchase? When I was at the Z convention in LA there was a US spec 73' 240z that had the dual exhaust setup. I was not sure if it was trust or Nissan. The owner of the car was from Japan, so I would assume that it was fitted later, but I could be very wrong. It is black with the chrome tips, so it is probably the TRUST setup. cressida J-town
I wanted to, but I was hoping that one of my friends could have showed with me. I also didn't know that there was going to be such nice old school Japanese cars present. There was the Cressida, the Celica, and 3 86's. It would have been refreshing to have an old school Z too. Most of the cars were later models, I was all for the old school ones as you can tell.

Check out this old school DOHC 4 with the Mikunis. This car was very clean with original paint as far as I could tell.

86 at J-town festival
This clean AE86 was at the San Jose Japan Town festival car show. There were a hand full of great old school JDM cars. No Z's, but some great cars non the less

I can supply pictures of the little plugs as my car has them if someone is interested, but it is probably not that interesting. Ben

Amco accessories
My car came with a Amco leather knob. It is not in the greatest of shape, but I still have it.

That is the Zbart crap. I guess it really fights against rust, but it looks aweful. It is a combination of tar and something else. It comes off quite easily with nevr dull and the paint underneath is untouched as long as you don't rub too hard.
